Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped here for breakfast as it was recommended by our hosts. Lovely little cafe, with homemade items (scones, cookies) and grocery available (milk, eggs). Service was good, as was the coffee and the Irish Breakfast (1 fried egg, black/white puddings, sausage, bacon, toast). Nice spot...to enjoy your time in southern Ireland, complete with a roaring stove to keep you warm!More

Billy's Tea Room has a lovely atmosphere with friendly and excellent service. The delicious cakes and scones are made on the premises. A cafe not to be missed if in the area.

Billy's was Recommended to us when we arrived at our accommodation and again by several other people during the first few days. Popped in for a visit while we were on our way to play golf. Ordered coffee and cake and were blown away by...the service and friendliness of the staff. Value for money was awesome especially when you consider that it is run by villagers on a volunteer basis. so good we went again before we left Ireland.More

If you want to support local community then this is the place to go! Everyone here is a volunteer from the community and all proceeds go back into the community. People are delightful, soup was fabulous, brown bread was the best I’ve had on all...four trips to Ireland!! All the things we had homemade on site and the lemon drizzle cake was to die for!More

Headed to Ballyhale today to have lunch in Billy’s. It serves simple good quality food which was absolutely delicious. The menu includes sandwiches, salads, scones, desserts, beverages & a kids menu. It is a community based cafe run by volunteers from the area. Very reasonably...priced for the large portions you are given. Would recommend to all to visit.More

We were in an Air B&B up the street for a family wedding in nearby Thomastown. We had a coffee on our first day and decided to have our breakfast next morning. It's absolutely gorgeous. So cosy and welcoming. We loved the fact that it...is a co operative and everyone is local. Food was lovely, great service and the atmosphere was homely. If you're in Ballyhale make this a comfort stop.More

Food was delicious and so reasonably priced (not like New York prices). The atmosphere was so quaint. And, most importantly, the service and friendliness was beyond! Thank you, Dave, for answering so many questions, having a seat with us to help plan out the rest...of our trip in Ireland. Go and remember to order a yummy scone!!!!!More

Super place. Amazing sandwiches, perfect salads, gorgous deserts. Local homemade food! friendly helpful staff, lovely environment. This is what a cafe should be. People should travel to try it out, forget the franchises. Can’t say enough good things.

I have never written a review on TripAdvisor before but this place was special. On a suggestion from a local we stopped at this wonderful establishment for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is warm...and welcoming. The staff is lovely and the scones and tea were delicious. Oh, and the brown bread! Best brown bread I had during our entire two week trip to Ireland!More
