We happened upon Truffles while we were wandering around Kilkenny and getting hungrier by the minute. This restaurant hit it out of the park. Each of our three meals were absolutely delicious. The wine we chose was nice and went well with our dinner. We were struck at how elegantly decorated/designed the restaurant was, along with being very clean. We discovered that our waitress was actually the co-owner, with her husband, working as the chef, behind the scenes. Lovely couple doing great work with this restaurant. Next time in Kilkenny, we'd be happy to eat there again!

Our family had not planned ahead for our dinner in Kilkenny, so we were delighted to find that Truffles (a top-rated restaurant) had availability for our family of four. This restaurant is tucked away on a charming, small street - and our Apple (walking) Maps navigated us there easily. The ambiance is warm and the staff were welcoming. We had the risotto, the pasta with meatballs, the ravioli and a vegetarian linguine dish. We started with the trio of bruschetta. All of the food was some of the best that we tasted in all of our travels around Ireland. This food exceeded our expectations immensely. The wine list is lovely. Perhaps what impressed us the most is that this family-run restaurant takes great pride in making sure that their guests have a memorable experience. We almost felt like guests in their home! Thank you for such warm hospitality and delicious food on our journey!

Fabulous last meal of 2023 from start to finish!
Lovely atmosphere in this intimate but spacious restaurant, warm and welcoming staff, good Prosseco!
The set menu for €38.00 for 2 courses was absolutely delicious! Would go back in a heartbeat!! 10/10!

Hard to believe this place is ranked so high. Was like stepping back into the early 2000s/late 1990s, the menu and decor are in need of a serious revamp.

Passing through Kilkenny, seeing that this restaurant has a full score we went to dinner.
My score is 3••• solely for the elegance of the place and the impeccable service but for the food I would have given 1•
Considering the very fast times with which we ate 1 appetizer, 1 first course, 1 second course and 1 dessert (we always divide to taste more things) and the perceived taste of the dishes, we think it was all precooked and only “enriched” by hot sauces of seasoning.
I honestly don’t understand how this place can have a full score... it’s inexplicable!
The price is also excessive.
If they improve the kitchen could safely have high scores, but sl moment just not!

Beautiful family restaurant, very cozy. Super friendly and helpful staff. Ordered pork chop whit prawns that was delicious and tender, and the butternut squash risotto was just exquisite, so tasty. Portions
sizes were perfect a reasonable price. Great selection of wines. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back, highly recommend.

We were delighted to find this charming family owned restaurant in Kilkenny. We enjoyed meeting the engaging owners who shared their experiences and explained their cuisine. We enjoyed excellent pasta dishes, salmon, and delicious soups. The cherry on top was the Four Friends wine from Bulgaria, which we found delicious and a bargain as well as appropriately named for our two-couple trip.

Dinner was outstanding. They served me a half portion of their Gorgonzola Ravioli as an appetizer - FANTASTIC! The pork belly risotto was one of the best pork belly dishes we ever had. Not fatty, perfectly salty, tender and scrumptious.

What an amazing family run restaurant. We arrived at 7pm on Sunday evening and after showing our Covid passports we were given a window table.
We started with olives and warm bread (5 varieties) and the olives had been soaked in homemade olive oil.
For main course we had the meatballs in pasta and tomato sauce with extra parmazan cheese drizzled over it.
We passed on dessert but we had a Latte and Baileys coffee with were a perfect way to round off the bill.
When the bill was presented we were informed that the coffees were on the house. A lovely gesture.
Truffles is located on a very quiet street in the heart of Kilkenny...well worth a visit

Booked this for a group of three friends. Very nice staff but the interior is extremely dated and kind of like someone's living room in the 90s. A little updating would do this place wonders and some cosier lighting or candles on the table. No music in the background so it was very quiet and made us feel we were listening to everyones conversations.
All that said it was really a lovely meal. My starter was delicious, our mains were pasta dishes and you couldn't complain really. Tasty but may need a little tweeking to make it a more unique dish. I felt it was expensive for what we got. Lots of positives but definitely needs some updating decor wise and menu

Excellent service, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff. Very good vegan menu! We loved the food, vegans and no vegans alike.
We had vegan bolognese and pasta with artichokes for us vegans and were thrilled with it, plus hummus and desserts. Amazing! Will go again for sure!

We had the most wonderful evening at Truffles restaurant in Kilkenny. Our hostess was warm and lovely, and the food was outstanding.
As a coeliac, I had many choices for gluten free food on the menu (many items without modification). Highly recommended!

Lovely calm and unrushed atmosphere in Truffles restaurant. The tables are suitably spaced so it doesnt seem packed. The food was tast and well presented and portions were generous so we didnt bother with dessert. Recommended!

Lovely little spot in the heart of Kilkenny, starters (bruschetta and goats cheese salad) were fantastic. Mains (half duck and ragu) were slightly less impressive, the ragu wasn’t as rich and tomatoey as you’d hope, desserts were very good. Nice wine, attentive and friendly staff and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Excellent service, the waitress couldn't have been more lovely and helpful as there were food allergies we had to look out for. the food was cooked fresh and served piping hot and super tasty! the drinks were great and couldn't fault the limoncello shots at the end either. would definitely recommend and return.
