Got food poisoning from seafood dish. Worryingly short time taken to cook. Ruined our holiday as a result. Wont be recommending to anyone.

Good evening Nadia, I would just like to say we had a fantastic meal last night in Italian Connection. The staff were friendly and very professional. The food was amazing. Thank you for making this a memorable occasion for myself and my extended family. We...shall certainly visit Italian Connect again. Kind regards.More
Booked a table at relatively short notice for a Saturday Evening. Got fitted in beside the bar. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent as was the house red. Served nice and quick but weren’t rushed at all. Would highly recommend and will return...next time we’re in Kilkenny.More
Beautiful Italian restaurant in kilkenny city, customer service was excellent, restaurant beautiful, I follow a gluten free diet and our waitress Liana was very helpful with food choices, well worth a visit
From the outset, I must say that I never comment on platforms like TripAdvisor or elsewhere, but there comes a time when it is enough to make fun of tourist customers. We are on our 5th trip to Ireland and, according to our memories, it...was the worst restaurant choice we made in this country. Since we had not booked, we were told that we had to be finished within an hour, already I still wonder why to have accepted this kind of reception, but usually, when we have nothing to celebrate, one hour is sufficient. But then to be sure that we left in an hour, we were placed at the worst table, near the kitchens, near a service door where the staff are talking at the top of their voices and where we empty the dishwasher and where we place the dishes. It was very noisy and the staff hasty and uncourteous. The food was nothing more than ordinary, almost tasteless. So if this can help you make your choice of restaurant, this comment will not have been in vain.More
We had an evening meal here whilst staying in Kilkenny. Absolutely beautiful! My daughter had a huge gluten free pizza and there were also plenty of pasta dish options for gluten free diners. I had the cannelloni and my son had the lasagne. Both were...stunning. My husband had the veal milanese which he said was the best he had ever tasted. Don't miss out on trying this place. Great Italian restaurant.More
Didn't book but managed to get a table. Food was excellent as we're the staff. Great kids menu! Would highly recommend!
Used to come here regularly - so was excited to visit on a trip back home this summer. We went as a group - 2 couples. Starters were served quickly and we all enjoyed. Two of my friends shared a bottle of wine. However I...just wanted my own single glass. The waitress was a bit awkward about this and I had to explain I only wanted a glass and not from their shared bottle. We were left ages waiting on our mains. We think they forgot as the two couples either side of us who came after us had eaten their mains before ours appeared. When we followed up with one of the waiters he was a bit abrupt and said it was coming. The mains arrived eventually and were tasty, but a bit over priced in my opinion for the quality offered. My rigatoni was overdone. After that we were then again left completely. Plates were cleared and we weren’t asked about dessert or offered any other drinks. We again had to gesture for a waiter after about 15 minutes, who seemed taken aback when we asked for dessert menus. Overall a big let down for what was once a gem in Kilkenny.More
Food was lovely have been here before but portion size was very small compared to last time we visited which was disappointing considering it was €20 for the pasta dish, it was more like a starter size, we had to ask for one of our...dishes which was left in the pass, thankfully it was a cold dish, also were told we could split the bill but they decided at the till then that it would be divided so had to then pay for more than I ordered, loved this place last time and I recommended that we come here today but unfortunately was a tad disappointedMore
We called in on the off chance for dinner and were quickly found a table. The restaurant was extremely busy but the staff were all engaged and friendly. The food was hot and fabulous. Lots of good choices and the portions are generous
Ate here early in week on a Feb evening. Really enjoyed the food. Only issue was the wrong & missing prices. Side/green salad €5 on menu - charged €6.50. No prices shown (or advised) for glass of house wine €8.50 or espresso - a fairly...steep €4. Service was good. We were seated so near the serving hatch we were privy to the staff's private conversations. Tho i'm sure if we'd asked to be moved it wouldn't have been a problem.More
Really disappointed with this restaurant, used to go regularly some years ago and was looking forward to being back. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty, I hadn’t booked so was glad we could be accommodated, but it was done quite rudely. We were...huffed at a bit for not having a reservation and told the table would be needed back in 1.5 hours. Lots of restaurants have this requirement so it wasn’t a problem, more about the manner really. Small enough menu for an Italian but we all picked easily, starters were all really good however the menu doesn’t describe the dish very well, in the arancini there are peas and carrots which weren’t listed and my daughter wasn’t impressed! But they were very tasty. The mains were extremely slow coming out and we had to ask for them, considering we were asked to be quick I found this poor and left us hurrying. The main courses were very disappointing my arabiata was not a bit spicy nor did I taste any garlic (the main ingredients!) the sauce tasted so watery it really was unpleasant. My husband had the carbonara and also said it was completely tasteless, we both added lots of salt & pepper and still wasn’t great. We left most of it. I’m sorry I didn’t say something but it didn’t feel like our opinion would be taken on board, very disappointing lots of better places in Kilkenny to eatMore
We visited in October for a meal to celebrate 2 birthdays in our group. It was very busy but luckily they found a table for us as we had not booked. The staff were very friendly. The food was brought out without a long wait...which was great. Really tasty dishes and good portion sizes. Definitely worth a visit if you want a nice meal at a good price.More
Me and my wife had dinner here on a Friday night. Very good menu selection and good selection of beer and wine,
Food & service were great. I do wish we were told how big our starters were, my only complaint. Will eat here again on our next time in Kilkenny.
