We came across this pub while shopping in Kilkenny and stopped in for some pub grub. It was totally delicious. We stayed and had a few drinks and watched the soccer. There was a great atmosphere here and the pub itself it all stone work it's really beautiful. We ended up coming back here later that night. There was live... More

We had a group on a cycling tour with us yesterday and we got a little wet on the tour so decided to take cover in one Kilkenny's most iconic attractions. It turned out to be a brilliant decision because after our lunch (Vol à vant & chips) "just delicious" by the way, my guests shown around by a very... More

We went into this place purely based on it's extraordinary history and what it means to Kilkenny. We didn't eat but many of the patrons did. Simply had a pint and soaked it all in. The staff were great and shared the stories with us that I am sure they have told 1000 times. Invited us to look around and... More

Service was friendly even though they were seemingly understaffed. Atmosphere was just fine. Pints as good as anywhere. But both the lasagna and the fishcakes were "okay" at best. Desert: same thing.

An interesting building and history that goes along with it. Amazing atmosphere, with lots of nooks and crannies, with interesting photo's of time past. Food is good quality and value for money, well worth a visit in what is a very interesting location.

Wonderful old and historic restaurant/pub with good food and an even better tale. Cozy atmosphere with lots of nooks and crannies. Servers were friendly and attentive. Live music several nights a week and an outdoor beer garden all add up to a good spot for everyone. A definite Kilkenny must-see.
