Our B&B, Berkley House, suggested this place for a bite to eat before setting out to see Kilkenny Castle and it was great. We tried the Chef's special of the day, which was Boiled Bacon and Cabbage. I was a little weary, but the "Bacon" was actually sliced ham over the most delicious cabbage with a side of mashed potatoes.... More

pub/restaurant in the middle of town, walked in on a tues nite, the bar food reasonably priced, 10 euro for the special( fish cakes), service was quick, staff friendly, made us and the americans sitting beside us feel right at home, left the place about 2 hours later than originally planned- so a sign of a good nites crack- thanks... Great atmosphere, We ate here 3 different times. One in the evening during week. The Irish stew was chunky and fresh, the Banofie (banana bread pie) was incredible, their sherry trifle was super. All served with a very large dollop of fresh cream. Every thing is made fresh and is tastey Next I went later in the evening another day,... More

Kytelers Inn is the sort of place you expect to find when touring Ireland. Steeped in history, a rich atmosphere, somewhere that the local go and a warm and welcoming service. We came in for an early evening pint, stayed for a second, then musicians started playing so we decided to eat there. The menu was spot on, the service... More

One of the first pubs that i have been in that doesnt lose its character and warmth by being three floors! though such a large space the welcoming atmosphere travels throughout! food was delicious and portions were quite large making them great value for money! staff was also very hospitable and attentive in continuelly checking how our meal was going!... Very cool pub. It was one of our favorites on the trip. Bartenders were very friendly and prices were reasonable.

If you want a good pub meal in a genuinely old place then this is it! My husband had the Irish Stew and I had the Vol au Vents and chips - enormous portions which we readily finished off with relish. A bit full of tourists but one can hardly complain at that! Table service was good, prompt and attentive... More

The story went something like this: sullen waitress takes our order, my partner asks her does she have large bottle of wine, waitress says that she has very little wine, so all three of us spend the next 60 seconds expecting a helpful suggestion from waitress, which never came. I ordered Irish Stew, partner ordered something else. Meals were delivered... More

We stumbled on this place while strolling through Kilkenny and really enjoyed listening to the music and inhaling the ancient smell of the place, which has been there forever. Highly recommended!

Medieaval building in the heart of Kilkenny dating back to 1324. Once home to Dame Alice Kyteler tried for witchcraft. Kytelers Inn is NOT a restaurant but a Pub - which is our main business. Yes we also serve bar food. There are three floors with four bars - cheek them all out for the one that suits. On offer at peak season twice nightly from 6.30pm. is a programme of trad music, balladeer, irish dancers & seanachie. You can watch & eat & drink at your leisure.Weekends and Bank holidays we also have Late Bar extensions with bands & DJ for those that want to party a bit later into the night. As it was in Alice Kyteler's day - Kyteler's Inn is a place for "merrie making" - Come and visit us to find out more..Also check us out - Trip Advisor Bars/Nightlife
