We stumbled across this bar and actually entered because of the music we heard. The interior was so fun-candles on the tables and cozy seating with enclaves to talk and even a gas fireplace going. The bar is long and beautiful and the staff was...some of the most attentive we have had in Ireland—if we even looked like we needed a drink, they asked. The music kept us there for a long time. Very fun!More
Friendly staff . Great value for a bed in killarney. Pizzas are amazing. Thanks for a great weekend. Will definitely be back .
Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed in my life….AVOID!!! Came to stay at this B&B this weekend and on the first night there was no hot water, we couldn’t get in contact with any staff member so had to wait until the next...morning to shower which was no big deal. We were attending a wedding the next day and again there was still no hot water, again we tried calling all the numbers listed on the website and could not get any answer, actually got a text back from the mobile number to say they “couldn’t talk to me right now”. So I sent a text to this number complaining about the lack of hot water and got no reply, still in all this time we could not find a single member of staff on the premises. We had to leave and go to a relatives house to shower. After the wedding we went into the bar to ask about the hot water and the employee we were faced with was without doubt one of the most condescending and rude people I have ever met. When we were asking about the hot water he was rolling his eyes at us and made insulting jokes about us with other people sitting at the bar right infront of us. This member of staff was literally the rudest person I have ever met. We were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them with any requests that we made and were literally made feel like scum and totally unwelcome. We couldn’t even ask for toilet roll we had to go across the road to centra to buy it, nobody came in to check on the room the entire stay. The rooms are in no way worth the money, they are small, dilapidated and uncomfortable. There was also supposed to be tea and coffee facilities which there was no sign of. Horrendous place and the employees made it feel like a very hostile atmosphere. We ended up leaving early and went a few minutes up the road to the Killarney court hotel and thankfully the stay was incomparably better, the staff were so helpful and lovely and the rooms were spacious with a tv with Netflix and a huge shower and bathroom, honestly was a million times better than Charlie foleys, and all for €10 less! We are just sorry we didn’t come to the Killarney court hotel in the first place, it is an amazing hotel and so affordable! I would honestly rather sleep in my car than ever stay in Charlie Foleys again. Obviously judging by these other reviews I am not the only one with this terrible experience, absolutely disgraceful.More
Stayed here recently for one night Don’t stay here rooms are a disgrace. Bed linen not cleaned no heating in room no breakfast and no satisfactory staff response. Joe
Can't fault it for 50 Euro, nice comfortable room cracking bar downstairs and Central London a few minutes walk from the cathedral and Killarney national park. It also has its own entrance so getting in late(lots of pubs to try) or leaving early isn't an...issue.More
We thoroughly enjoyed our night in Charlie Foley's bar last thursday. The singer was incredible and he worked the crowd. Friendly staff, and overall a very enjoyable experience.
No cead mile failte here..keep pulling the pints and forget about the accommodation as its embarrassing to the tourist trade.we will not be back.
I went into Foley's bar and I was appalled by how me and my friends were treated by one of the bar men I ask someone what his name was, they said he's called Jimmy or Jim something like that he's a ginger haired lad,...I have never met someone with such a bad attitude towards customers, he definitely should not be a barman or in any position that involves dealing with customers because he has such a bad attitude towards customer service. it would've been an enjoyable time otherwise but he absolutely ruined the night for us.More
I stayed in the B and B last week and had a terrible experience with these individuals. They double charged me and my friend for our stay, and when we contacted them about this issue they simply ignored all of my messages and emails. After...2 weeks of calling I finally got in contact with them, and as soon I mentioned the refund required to them they told me the air B and B was closed and would not be open all summer, which is a lie as I was there only 2 weeks ago (there had been no change in covid regulations in that time). They then hung up the phone on me and would not answer any further calls. Really really bad experience, with some very nasty greedy individuals. Do not stay 👍More
When in Killarney definitely pop in here for a drink or two. Absolutely amazing atmosphere and staff are so friendly. Pizzas are very tasty if you feel like have a bite to eat while having a drink. Lovely traditional Irish pub!
Visited Charlie foleys last week while on holiday with my husband and we had a great time! The pizza was savage and the pints even better! It was lovely and cozy, made even more so by the genuinely great service (I think the guys name...was Gerry?) Would definitely recommend 👍More
Myself and my wife came across Charlie foleys on a staycation we took last month. Killarney offered mighty Craic but we were sick that we only found this gem on the last night. It’s a beautiful little bar that kept up with the covid outlines...yet didn’t seem to lose any charm. We had brilliant time with a Barman called gerry. . By chance we had backed the same horse in a race later that day and had great laugh over it as I think she’s still running . We will be back again soon with promise of a winner.More
The family and I had an excellent experience here. The layout with the Covid-19 restrictions were done in a way that made it very comfortable. The barman Gerry was very warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
Visited here recently and was delighted with the service, the pizzas were very tasty and their protocol to prevent Covid was very impressive. The barman Gerry was very friendly and made us feel right at home. We will definately be back. I really appreciated how...safe it felt without it feeling awkward or very different from the norm.More
