Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were a family of 7 adults that had made reservations a few weeks ahead of time. The staff were very friendly, and we received good service. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Husband and I had the potato cakes and a few drinks. My sister...had the seafood chowder which was probably the best we have had in our travels in Ireland. It was so good, that we went back the next day for lunch specifically to have the chowder. However, it did not taste nearly as good as the night before. Not sure why that would be, but it was the case. Overall, we would go back, and do recomment the Laurels.More

Been here previously without any issue but in 2023 like so many places in Killarney, service has gone for a hike. While my wife ordered a drink I went to look for toilet only yo be confro ted by a staff member ' Can I...help you? ' he asked. Yes I said a couple of menus please. No food from 3-5 I was tols. Fair enough we would have a drink and go elsewhere. Two minutes later another member of staff approaches and aks if we have paid. We advise we paid for our drinks and he asks what about the food. We had literally just sat down and been told no food. Another place in Killarney that will get no further business from us.More

The food was good. Though, when the waitress brought our tab to us she presented it with the comment for us to enter a tip for her. I felt that was out-of-line. We do add a tip, without being told to add the tip. She...was just okay as a waitress.More

We had a large reservation for a party of 24 at The Laurels pub and had an amazing experience. They arranged for all of us to sit together at a spacious table and had everything prepared flawlessly upon our arrival. The staff were truly outstanding,...with everyone being remarkably quick and attentive to our needs. Despite the large group, everything flowed seamlessly, leaving all of us very pleased. The food was absolutely delicious, arriving promptly for each member of our party. Our evening was a wonderful blend of great food, impeccable service, and a cozy atmosphere. I can't recommend this pub enough – it's truly a gem. Cheers to The Laurels!More

The Laurel’s did not disappoint. The pics you see of the fish and chips are true! Absolutely delish and piping hot. Our group also had the lamb shank, the seafood chowder and the deep fried Brie bites. All were fabulous. Great service and nice atmosphere....It’s a must!More

Had an excellent visit to this premises to celebrate my brother's Stag party. The staff were brilliant, nothing was an issue for them even when I had to make small changes to the numbers in our group close to our visit. When I made a...last minute request for a table with a few of a big screen so our group could watch an Irish rugby match, this was accommodated. The food, premises, staff and atmosphere here was excellent . We will definitely be back. Thanks again, BrianMore

We didn’t actually eat here when we saw the prices. We had been here New Year’s Eve 2022 and had really enjoyed it. There’s a lovely atmosphere in the bar. The bar was full so the waitress showed us to the back where they have...a huge restaurant. We were the only people in the room. We were given a menu which was varied but very expensive for what we were getting. €24.95 for roast chicken! I know inflation has hit hard in the last year but really?? We went to another restaurant in one of the local hotels where we had our roast chicken for €19! Please please don’t get greedy restaurant owners! There were other restaurants in Killarney doing 2 courses for €28. I really was disappointed that we didn’t get to eat in such a nice restaurant.🙁More

Lively pub with food. We went for dinner on a Monday evening. The place was busy but a staff member quickly had us seated. Opted for the nachos to share as a starter and the potato cakes as main course washed down with a couple...of pints of draft Murphys. All very good. Decent, lively atmosphere and good staffMore

Walked in with a large group for drinks planned on staying the night but were made feel very unwelcome because we were not there for food. Barman very accommodating but when we went to sit where he advised we where shooed away by a very...rude waitress and told we couldn't sit there unless we were ordering food very rude told us not to argue with her which we were only trying to explain what the barman said just ended up leaving. I'd go elsewhere.More
