I recently visited The Mall for dinner with a group of 10 people. Tables were seated apart which we knew before arriving as it is the new covid law, now what I have not heard of being a covid law is that children are not...allowed in the restaurant for more than an hour? This was at 7.15 as well so keep it in mind we had planned to be out by 9 anyway. So upon arriving our 7 year old was pointed out as said he cant be in here then was told hes only allowed an hour, when we explained to the Hostess/Manager that it was his sisters birthday and all his family are here so what are we meant to do? We were then told well all you can have is the hour and 45 mins now?? All we wanted was that anyway as that is everywheres rules. As one of our party went to walk to our table to the rest of our group she was told "come back id like to speak to you" she came back and we had to stand there for at least a minute before the woman would speak and asked us if "we were all okay now" before moving along as she could see she was completely out of order and had upset us before we even sat down, she continued to list out the "rules" to us in an extremely condescending and rude tone. At this point we havnt even said hello to the rest of the family we are outraged at how we have been spoken to and the night has been ruined before it even began. The Girl whos Birthday it was was so upset she wouldnt speak to anyone or enjoy herself, the 7 year old thought he wasnt allowed be there and felt very uncomfortable and everyone was just quite outraged by the manner in how everything was addressed. Move onto the food I cant speak for everyone but it was completely medicore but grand, same woman in question did another rude thing but I wont elaborate as she probably knows herself exactly what im talking about. One of our party ordered a cocktail and in the space of 20-25 mins we were asked 3 times by 3 different girls if we would like more drinks yet had still not recieved the one cocktail which had been reminded to the servers 2 times at this stage, now it eventually came down but taking that long it should not have been on the bill she had finished her food before it even arrived. The hostess/manager did come over to the table toward to end and yes you could see she was trying to make up for the completely lack of respect we recieved when we walked in the door but at that point im sorry its too late. Working in hospitality for years myself I have never complained or bad reviewed anywhere but I have never felt so uncomfortable inside a place and the only reason we stayed there was because of the birthday girl other than that I would not recommend this place to anybody down to pure and utter rudeness on the hostess/managers behalf.More

Called in here and was lucky to get a window seat. Ideal for people watching on the street! Had coffee and a lovely scone which was definitely homemade, so good we brought two to take back to the hotel.

One of my first outings after covid. We booked a table I'm The Mall. I was happy to see all measures were taken. Staff were super friendly and very attentive. Social distancing was very easy with the lay out of the place. Cocktails were great....I had the Thai red curry which was lovely. Would go again next time I'm in Tralee.More

Took the family for a quick lunch. 3 paninis and 1 soup. Lunch was delicious, so much so that we went back for breakfast. 4 full Irish and again all delicious. Staff were lovely and customer service was excellent. Restaurant was spotless and all necessary...covid precautions in place.More

Went to the mall last night with some friends. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing visit which I was surprised by. I have eaten there in the past and in the cafe during the day and I have never had a problem. The worst part...was definitely the service. Firstly we were waiting to get menus, we ordered drinks with our food and waited 30 minutes for them. When the food arrived the standard was very poor. The chips were cold and the Brie wasn’t much better, there wasn’t even cranberry served with it. The cocktails were far too thick and concentrated from the juice. Lastly we were sitting in the cafe section which they use during the day near the deli counter which I was very disappointed with. They have done a lovely job doing the bar up but to be then placed in what seemed to be the forgotten section of the cafe on hard seats with a night light. I don’t think they should be accepting customer to seat them there. The whole experience was highly disappointing. I would be very slow to return to the mall again which is unfortunate, purely down to food and shocking service.More

We called in on spec and I have to say that we had the best coffee we'd had in Ireland to that date! It had a lovely coffee bite and all the froth I asked for!!

Slow service, lasagne seemed days old and reheated to a bad standard with a big pile of cheese on top melted to cover its poor quality, luke warm chips, no ketchup on the table, served a can of Danish coca cola and also very drafty.

Food was good, service not! Not very friendly and not very attentive! Pancakes and French toast were well done!

When we arrived in Killarney we were starving and came across this place and it seemed busy. We took this as a good sign. It seemed fairly basic. The portions are very modest and you will not leave feeling full. I would not recommend coming...here if you are feeling ravenous. I wouldn’t say it’s good value, and I regretted my visit. The sourdough toast was a piece of baguettes that was stale and then toasted. My friend ordered avocado toast and was given gone off avocado. Honestly, this place is only average at best. Not good value for money. They are even stingy with serviettes.More
