Excellent experience at Garret’s in Killarney. Beautiful food, warm atmosphere with excellent staff. Particular mention for Áine and Gemma who made our evening very special. Would highly recommend an evening at Garret’s Restaurant not only for the food but the warmth of the welcome.

4 of us (2 couples) enjoyed a lovely evening with 3 of us availing of the late "early bird" menu... a great idea and fantastic value for a 3 course meal. Starters, mains and desserts were all excellent and the service was top notch. Lovely...venue and settong/ambience, very clean and appealing with a cool outdoor area upstairs too. Highly recommend any to try this restaurant..you won't be disappointed!More

The service was meticulous and friendly. Garret’s salad was fresh and bright. Scallops special was exceptional: cooked perfectly and still tender. Sea Bass was excellent. We had a wonderful dinner!!! Thank you!

I love this restaurant so had high expectations but tonight was beyond my wildest expectations. Garretts always has amazing food and tonight was no exception but the staff were engaged funny charming efficient and great fun which made the night extra-special. I point out Aine...in particular who made a fuss of my guest who was celebrating her 77th birthday and was made to feel so special tonight. As for the food the starters werr EPIC The risotto was divine. Balanced flavours and divine after taste. The brie was subtle and so delicious. We both had the belly of pork which can be a risk but OMG whatever Gary has done with this dish it melts in your mouth and the supporting sides and vegetables were perfect. The melbec was delicious. But it always is. The desert which was a challenge at that point was poached pear with ginger cake and home made ice cream. My taste buds went mad. My stomach begged me to stop but the flavours insisted I continue. Overall one of yhe best nights out ever. Food ambiance service flavours and overall satisfaction 100%. If you are touring killarney check out Garretts.More

We had a wonderful dinner here during our stay nearby in May of 2023. The staff members were delightful and the food was terrific as well. The entire evening was relaxing, elegant but not stuffy, and memorable. We highly recommend Garret’s.

Came for.mothers day as I have visited often but the new menu is just too strange for me. The restaurant seems confused and staff were a little too defensive about it which spoilt our meal and has put me off returning My husband had the...chowder which was beautiful, I had the brie which had freezing flabouless couscous and sweet corn under it which made the cheese cold and congeal and was not pleasant. I wasn't complaining but merely commenting on this and had an extra member of staff come over to tell me, which felt a bit defensive and berating that is was a top seller. It probably is because many people live brie but I wouldn't order it again. They obviously didn't want to listen to feedback, which is a shame. Next had the risotto as a main as there was nothing appealing, the combinations are just weird. Supreme of chicken with coconut mash and korma sauce... It used to be a fabulous mushroom sauce and mash. It's not an Indian and this isn't the only odd combination either. Their updated menu isn't on their Facebook page so beware. They forgot my order was a main and brought me a starter, they did send another portion but I didn't like having to ask and the waitress although sweet was new and did not notice wine was not topped up etc. Just overall didn't enjoy, the wine was nice and the food was cooked well, risotto is my fav dish but I just don't think it's worth returning unless they did a lunch menu. Didn't stay for dessert, went to Murphys for delicious whisky iced cream, was the highlight of the evening. I can understand why the dining room had spare tables on Mother's day...More

The waitress was brilliant and truly deserved our tip. Only 6 days in the job. The food left us feeling let down, given the 5 star rating . The starters were very tasty and well presented. Two of the main courses were not. A medium...steak that was actually bleu in the middle? Nevertheless, my daughter found the outside tender and tasty. Mine was a pan- fried Hake. Little taste in the fish itself, served with vegetables and a bowl of horrible undercooked chips? I didn't expect chips in such a high-end setting. My other 3 guests had underwhelming croquette potatoes and nice vegetables with well cooked and tasty scallops. The sweet dishes were very nice. The wine was excellent. The owner/chef needs to pay attention to the quality of all the food and cooking if they expect quests to pay what they charge and be happy with the visit.More

Paid a visit to Garretts for dinner on a Thursday evening. We had not been to this restaurant previously and it was a lovely experience. Really nice intimate atmosphere with jazz music in the background. Food was really good with wonderful flavours. Would definitely recommend.
