Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went here based on Trip Advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The service is excellent, which is unusual in restaurants these days; our waitress seemed to be running the whole place with efficiency and enthusiasm. We regretted sharing the duck spring rolls to start, they...were so delicious I wanted more! I had the rib eye steak and it was delicious, cooked to medium rare perfection. My partner had the fish and chips, also excellent. Their drinks menu is super, delighted to see the Killarney beer on the menu, wine by the glass is very decent. I cannot fault our experience. Thank you! We will be back.More

Great service and delicious food! The chowder was wonderful as was the steak, really fresh, tender and delicious. A lovely, cosy atmosphere and great food, so would highly recommend!

We are a family of 7 adults, and were lucky enough to be back in Killarney for vacation. Murphy Brown's had probably my favorite meal of our entire month of travel through 5 countries. The spring rolls for a starter, with seabass to follow was...so good. Husband had the ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly. Everyone else also loved their meals. Service was great! Will definitely come back if we make it back to Ireland. Highly recommend.More

We met the Brown of Murphy Brown and she was amazing. Her recommendations matched what Trip Advisor said. We had the sea bass and lamb shank, both wonderful. The best seafood chowder we had on the island.

While in Ireland I was craving lamb for dinner. This restaurant in Killarney really delivered. Mouthwatering and tender the lamb shank fit the bill. The decor and service were also outstanding! Don’t miss an opportunity to dine here while in this lovely town.

My husband and I came here for dinner for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. Absolutely amazing food. I had the bruschetta to start and my husband had the coca cola chicken wings. For mains my husband had the ribeye steak with all the...trimmings and I had the fragrant curry. They said the curry was like a Korma but it really wasn't. But it was still a nice curry. For dessert my husband had the chocolate and coconut Tarte with passion fruit sorbet and I had the cheesecake of the day which was salted caramel cheesecake. I still think about that cheesecake, it was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves. We definitely can't wait to go back.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days in Ireland and there were so many highlights from the atmospheric scenery through to the welcoming and friendly locals. However Murphy Brownes was an OUTSTANDING highlight of the holiday. Food cooked to perfection (I loved the leek and potato...soup and the sea bass was sublime. The same can be said for Gina’s duck and main course of chicken). The service was impeccable (and that was on a busy Saturday evening) We could not fault a thing. Denis and Dee have a great restaurant and are deservedly filling their tables so I’d definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment. And Dee - thank you for running down the High Street at a busy time to return my phone shouting out “Mr Guernsey” to catch my attention that I’d left behind. Again wow! You are a star. If you are in Killarney do give this restaurant a visit.More

Although a small place they went out of their way to find us a table for 6 and our server was quite personable despite how busy they were and the fact that only 2 people were working. The beer battered fish and chips was delicious...- chips were crispy and piping hot as was the healthy portion of cod. The beef lasagna was large and satisfying. Both items were served w side salads. Potato leek soup was out of this world. Friendly spot.More

I went with my two granddaughters after a tour of the Dingle Peninsula. We thought the food was excellent and the service was very good. I had the fish and chips (terrific; best of our Ireland vacation). My granddaughters had the beef burger and the...lamb shank. Both really tasty! Great choice in Killarney.More

Firstly the food was great , but what really stood out was there was a mix up with my wife's order and how they handled it was truly amazing. In the end it was all sorted but they did not charge for it . So...we tipped them the price of the meal instead in some way of showing our thanks . It always has to be right every meal every course but the real test is how you deal with things when it does go wrong . 5 stars for this alone . We will definitely be back !More

I don’t normally normally make a reservation the following night because my dinner experience was so phenomenal on the first night - but I’ve NEVER made a reservation after the second night for a third return (consecutive) at any restaurant. AMAZING atmosphere; AMAZING dinners. I...plan on coming back to Killarney and will likely eat every night at Murphy Brownes - it was THAT GOOD!! 5 stars!!More
