Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a truest unique fun place. However I felt the food is overpriced for what it is. We ordered chicken tenders and chips and a kids meal. The tenders portion was huge as it should be for €15 and no sides. But when asked...the staff said it wasn’t that big so we ordered a portion each. The chips where in edible, the chips with the kids meal where fine but the side orders where greasy refried like they where the old ones left at the bottom. I would recommend this place for a nice drink in an unusual setting but there is better food and value around the town.More

We visited Killarney as part of a coach tour and in researching pubs and restaurants, we definitely wanted to visit JM Reidy’s. We stopped by one evening for an early dinner and there was not much of a crowd yet. The only food available at...the time we visited was pizza but that was fine with us. We walked through and admired all the different rooms within the restaurant while we waited for our food. We ordered a few pints at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. We found a cozy booth to sit down and enjoy our Guinness, then went to get our food at the pickup window. The pizza was very good and cooked perfectly. We tend to eat dinner early so we missed the live music and crowds later that evening, which was too bad for us. We were not in town long enough to get back there but if I am ever in Killarney again, we would definitely return to JM Reidy’s.More

Best Staff, Scones and coffee! My partner and went for our morning coffee here five days in a row, the lovely welsh lady served us for a few of those days was an absolute delight. The young lady making the coffee was amazing. The best...Scone selection and top notch coffee.More

Having visited on 30th Sept, I am very disappointed. It seemed as if the mission was to fill the pub with as many paying customers as possible. There was no regard for crowd control, more and more people arrived (and were welcomed). Seemed to be...a place chasing the pound with no regard to space, health and safety, ample toilets or clean toilets. Not returningMore

My wife and I had an incredible day 2 celebration at Reidys. The location, food and experience was all 10/10 right down to every last detail. We would highly recommend this to any newly married couple or anyone at all who is looking for a...good night of food and drinks! We ordered a variety of pizzas and every last bite was eaten!More

We had the most incredible experience at J.M. Reidy’s for our wedding after party! We booked the Cobble Room, and it was the perfect choice. They added a lovely, personalized touch with a nice sign and sweet treats in the room. The performer they had...was absolutely amazing and kept us entertained all night. We had a blast and stayed till closing, making it the perfect end to our wedding day. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to cater to our needs. I can't wait for the chance to visit again – truly a wonderful pub!More

This looks like a tiny coffee shop from the front entrance, but looks can be deceiving! This is a huge venue and we enjoyed the most incredible lunch. I have to say the spicy nachos(went with vegetarian option) is the best in the whole country....Cocktails were also incredible. 5 star experience!More

I don’t like giving negative reviews but I’ve no problem on this occasion. I don’t know how many times I’ve been to Reidys, but I know that I’ve made my last visit. We arrived just after 9:00 but ushered to a side door. A card...machine was produced. I had comfort that there was a defibrillator nearby when they charged us €20 to enter! We would have walked away only we had to meeting people. They thought we were joking when we landed at the table. We warned others not to come in but they presume that we were joking. Several friends arrived in later only to laugh at us and remark “locals don’t pay in!” when we showed them the stamps on our hands. Most people agreed that they’d enough of the place when they realised that we were serious. I loathe the expression “rip-off Ireland” but Reidys certainly ticked the box. There are far better options around Killarney that do not exploit customers and do not have different rules for locals and non-locals. I had always enjoyed my previous visits for coffee, lunch or on a night out, but we’ll never darken it’s door again.More

John M Reidy’s has to be one of the best and maddest pubs I’ve ever been to. There are two entrances at the front, one for what looks like a regular pub, the other more if a coffee shop. However, you’re in for a surprise...as you make your way through to the back as there’s a number of other rooms, booths, bars and serving points, including a nice cocktail bar, an Irish coffee bar, an area with a giant screen showing sports and even an outdoor bit of sorts. It’s all a bit mad, but just fantastic too! Great vibe on the place and something for everyone. Visited a few times, sometimes for beers , sometimes cocktails. All great. A must visit if you’re in KillarneyMore

Always a “have to visit” while in Killarney! As I am a social butterfly I love visiting in the evenings and nights when there’s live music and everyone is singing and dancing but recently we have been visiting during the day for lunch / dinner...and what a pleasure! Such an amazing place for pictures and making memories. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Always excellent live music 🎶 Great cocktails and pizzas 🍕🍸100% recommend everyone visit‼️More

The treatment of a friend when protecting our drinks was awful on 30/07/23. Absolutely inexcusable and will be speaking to a manager regarding said issue. Loyal customer as well.

In excusable behaviour from bouncers after another male protected drinks on the 30/07/23. Company seem more concerned getting business from tourists than local business. Disgusting behaviour forcing customers paying since 2. P m today to leave since earlier. Very disappointing

Lovely pub. Surprising space inside. Food options include good gluten free option during daytime menu. Pizza was the only food on the evening of our first visit. Website states gluten free bases but when asked no bases available. Dissapointing but not uncommon at restaurants who...seem to prefer to advertise it's available rather than constantly stock the bases. On our second afternoon visit gluten free options were available with an excellent steak sandwich. Staff very friendly and service attentive during afternoon food service. Just some issues for coeliacs that they can easily fixMore

No & it depends on the bouncers . They will pick & choose who they leave in. Actually disgraceful. Lots of lovely people being turned away but he was leaving in the people I presume he knew or were from the area.
