I stayed at Murphy’s hotel for several days in August 2024. The only way to describe Murphy’s is Irish charm. This place defines Irish hospitality. You feel a part of their family. Kathleen at the front desk greets you by asking how your day was and the people at the restaurant are always joking with one another and welcome you in. It feels like a big family that runs both the hotel and the restaurant and they make you feel a part of that big family. The food is amazing. We ate here every meal because the chef is fantastic- the Irish stew, mussels, burger- all phenomenal. Local Irish bands play Irish music each night and it’s really great music and the atmosphere is really fun. While we were here, a local women’s camogie team came in to celebrate their win. It was so fun to see the excitement in the air and it made us feel a part of the community. This place is a gem because the people here are incredibly kind. I would recommend staying here because no matter how the rest of your trip goes, you’ll want to come back to Murphy’s. You won’t want to leave.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very comfortable and clean and feels like it was recently refurbished. Breakfast in the pub was good with a wide selection of food, and all the other meals we ate there during our stay were enjoyable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were on the top floor and the room was very light but the view was largely of the roofs around us, and lower floors were likely to be dark.

I missed the last bus to Sneem and decided to stay in Killarney as even though there was a bus to Kenmare, the hotels in Kenmare are boutique and more pricy. I took a single room and breakfast at the winter rate. Murphys is a stones throw from the bus station and superbly
located in town centre. The lady in reception who clocks off at 7 pm was very friendly as were the bar, restaurant and breakfast staff. The room was spotless and warm (I lowered the heating!). Highly recommend.

By far the worst food and dining experience I had in Ireland. Neither the chowder nor the beef casserole seemed to have a single pinch of salt or seasoning in them, the chowder was watery, and the waitstaff looked bored and unattentive when talking to me. I envy all the guest on here who had a lovely experience there.

We strive to offer our guests delicious, well-seasoned meals and attentive service, and it is clear we fell short during your visit. Your comments about the lack of seasoning in the chowder and beef casserole, as well as the inattentive behavior of our waitstaff, are being taken very seriously. We will be addressing these issues with our kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure improvements are made immediately.

I cannot stress enough how fantastic the staff were. Mary at reception welcomed each of us with warmth and fun, the porter, barmen, cleaning staff were extremely friendly and fun. The rooms were spacious and great value. The staff are an absolute credit to Killarney. Fantastic service with a smile and some banter. Absolutely fantastic. First time staying there and all six of us wouldn't dream of looking for somewhere else to stay in Killarney unless here from now on. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Breakfast was fantastic with a great range to suit everyone, caters for vegetarians. Fantastic value for money and extremely comfortable. Mary is a gem

Stayed here on a very cold January night before my flight from Faranfore. Great bar staff, very cosy, good breakfast with wonderfully helpful breakfast ladies. The hotel has no parking. I used the pay and display car park 50m across the road, 1 euro an hour in the charging period 08.30-18.30. Free outside the charging period.

We stayed four nights at Murphy’s of Killarney and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The rooms were lovely (great showers!) and very quiet, despite being on top of a pub in the centre of town. Breakfast was included and was great- hot or cold choices and more than enough to get you through till dinner. We ate one evening at the pub and it was good too, and we enjoyed several other visits for a Guinness and a glass of Irish whiskey. It’s a very friendly place with exceptional staff. Highly recommend.

First time staying here on a girlie night away and it won’t be the last time! Such a lovely place with the nicest of staff. Everyone there is just so helpful and friendly…special shoutout to Mary at reception who went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome! Such a lovely person! We had a delicious lunch there, slept in a very cosy and comfortable room only to wake up to a stunning breakfast. Everything spotlessly clean and it’s so handy as it’s right in the heart of Killarney town. We will 100% be back to Murphy’s 👍

looking for something easier, we opted for a classic Pub just around the corner from our hotel. a pint for me and Chard for the wife, we skip the starter and chose fish and chips for me and a burger for the wife. above average pub fare with good Atmos. recommended

Local pub and restaurant with darts. It was convenient to eat here as we were staying at Murphy’s Townhouse, and they also have their breakfast service here. We had dinner here our first night in Killarney and they had big portions for the food. I got the Irish chicken Parmesan which came with a Spanish slaw and chips. My friend liked her burger and we split a brownie with vanilla ice cream as dessert. The atmosphere is laidback and casual (as most pubs are). Credit cards are accepted. There are public restrooms available. They were setting up for a darts competition later that night, and based on the winners record on the wall, people take it seriously.

Fun, friendly, efficient staff. Happened to mention to David our waiter a memory of a childhood favorite meal. He asked the chef if he could make kidneys, and the next night we were back for a delicious special order meal!! After 52 years I am so grateful to these guys for going the extra mile to make us happy. Love Ireland and Murphys Restaurant and Bar!

Lovely guesthouse in a great location in centre of Killarney. Superb hospitality and very good food. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes to check in because reception was going the extra mile to sort out a problem another guest had with an excursion they’d privately booked. It was a real example of the hospitality Ireland became famous for, but is not always evident today! Well done to Murphy’s. . When we checked in the person helping us had a good look at what rooms were still available for our stay and gave us an upgrade to the best room available.
Despite being in the middle of Killarney and a restaurantar on ground floor, the bedroom was very quiet, as well as being very comfortable. Would definitely stay again!!

Stayed one night. Would highly recommend this place, friendly, efficient staff. Room spacious. Fan provided, tea/coffee making facilities. Food was superb. I must mention, Kathleen who welcomed us on arrival and helped with our booking. Ann and her assistant at breakfast, could not do enough for us. Food freshly cooked it was delicious. The Brazilian bar person in particular, was full of fun and char. The Ower was also present on the night. Stay here, you won't be disappointed.
