Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed two nights at Murphys, it was great! The staff were easy to talk with, Dave at the bar was really funny. The location was right downtown and very convenient. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, on the second floor we...never heard any bar noise or road noise, and the shower water pressure was awesome! Definitely stay here again.More

We stayed four nights at Murphy’s of Killarney and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The rooms were lovely (great showers!) and very quiet, despite being on top of a pub in the centre of town. Breakfast was included and was great- hot...or cold choices and more than enough to get you through till dinner. We ate one evening at the pub and it was good too, and we enjoyed several other visits for a Guinness and a glass of Irish whiskey. It’s a very friendly place with exceptional staff. Highly recommend.More

Lovely guesthouse in a great location in centre of Killarney. Superb hospitality and very good food. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes to check in because reception was going the extra mile to sort out a problem another guest had with...an excursion they’d privately booked. It was a real example of the hospitality Ireland became famous for, but is not always evident today! Well done to Murphy’s. . When we checked in the person helping us had a good look at what rooms were still available for our stay and gave us an upgrade to the best room available. Despite being in the middle of Killarney and a restaurantar on ground floor, the bedroom was very quiet, as well as being very comfortable. Would definitely stay again!!More

Spent 3 nights in Killarney and 2 of those we went to Murphy's for dinner, drinks and entertainment and that was before the live music! We were welcomed with a genuine welcome. We were entertained by the staff, lots of humor, joking and banter back...and forth. The food was good, the beer excellent and we were quite happy to have found this gem.More

100s of choices in Killarney - tried it one night and went back 2 more times in just a few days. Ireland experience at its best. The staff accommodating and entertaining. Packed on a Sunday night at 10 pm. Always a good sign.

Food and staff were excellent. There are a limited number of tables, it gets busy quick so get there early. Mark was an excellent host and server. The guys there do everything from tending bar to serving food. Really cool place.

We came here for lunch and had two very attentive and friendly waiteresses. The service was fantastic and fast, the food was delicious (lots of seafood in the chowder) and it had a great atmosphere.

The Irish burger was delicious! So juicy. The atmosphere is that of a traditional Irish pub, with live music, dancing and generally great time. David- manager/server really made the night. His sense of humour will be remembered

My husband and I stopped in for a drink. My husband was intrigued by their flights of whiskey. Diarmuid was our bartender and he helped my husband select Green Spot, Red Breast 12 and Powers, John’s Lane Release. It was a great presentation and I...ordered a wine. A few customers were interested in what he was drinking and we started a conversation. One gentleman told us they had the best food around and we should stay for dinner. Unfortunately, Diarmuid was finished with his shift and the woman who took over for him was only interested in serving single men. It was a battle to order another drink from her. I did find the host and he put our name in for a table. Finally we got a second drink and then our table was ready. The food service was excellent as was the food. We ordered wings and mussels, both were delicious. I would have rated it a 5 except for the last bartender, we were sitting at the bar and waited a good 30 minutes.More
