Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious food- baked Brie appetizer was amazing! Main course of fish was yummy! Live music, Irish dancing created very lively atmosphere. And we even learned a simple Irish line dance- west a blast!

Disappointing experience overall. My grandfather ordered his steak medium rare and it was cooked PAST well done. My salmon tasted like it was frozen, or at least not local, and was very dry. We went to hear the Irish music, but when we arrived, there...was a party going on inside with a band playing American music. We can hear “Sweet Caroline” or “Tennessee Whiskey” anytime in America… not what we came to Ireland for. A shame that this restaurant is not what it used to be.More

We had excellent food at Kate’s! The salmon was wonderful! The only complaint I had was that their website is not updated. We went the first night in Killarney because the website said they were open but they were not. We did go back the...last night in town because we heard such good things.More

Having been brought here as a child in 1982 with my parents and grandparents, I have meant to return over the years to try relive my childhood. With the roads from Dublin making the trip a lot quicker since 1982, I ended up going down....The place has, needless to say, been updated since I was last there but well worth the visitMore

We had a fantastic walk in meal at Kate Kearneys. Great atmosphere and buzz inside with live music. The roast lamb was fantastic as always and everybody has happy with the meal. They put together a takeaway main course for someone in the family who...couldn't make it so they were very flexible. Thank you and hopefully same thing next year!More

Nothing special about this meal, they are set up for large numbers of people on bus tours. Table service slow. Food was ok.

This place was a very welcoming sight after a horrible day out touring the gap of dunloe in a thunder storm with my wife and companion ready for a few hot drinks and a good catch up. The staff are very friendly and helpful with...the bar a popular place to visit in the area. It's got a very long history and a good place to visit with regular music nights and great food.More

Average food & poor customer service, best avoided, its worth the extra 10 mins drive to Killarney to get find a restaurant that doesn’t see its customer as a nuisance

Wonderful food and plenty of options for everyone. Dingle goat cheese pizza was amazing. We were a group of 6 with 2 kids and everyone was raving about the food. Unfortunately my only complaint was that the service was off. Had to get up twice...and grab our own condiments and silverware.More

Most importantly, the food at Kate’s is much better than typical pub food. Our friend ordered the featured roast duck and declared it excellent! My frustration is that we couldn’t make a reservation for our table of four. I called Saturday hoping to make a...Wednesday reservation, and the woman I spoke with assured me that if we arrived before 6:30, we’d have no problem being seated in the big room where the Irish music is played at 7:00. We arrived at 6:10, but were seated in the overflow room because all the tables were reserved for tour groups. But…some of those tables remained empty all evening because of no-shows. Also, the hours on TripAdvisor may not be updated, so call before you go to be sure the bar and restaurant are open. They do have picnic tables outside with a very limited menu, but it’s not ideal for dining. Donna, our server, was great and took great care of us. Give Kate’s a try—but call first!More

Very enjoyable atmosphere, friendly service and good food - though the Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing for my liking. A great choice for a casual meal in the Killarney area.

My wife and I were staying nearby for a week, visited the Gap and saw an advert for an "Irish Night" at the cottage. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. There alongside us was a huge coach party of Americans, and yet our food...order was swiftly on the table and very enjoyable it was too. A trio of musicians went down a storm, and there was a bit of Irish dancing as well. A couple of pints of Murphy's went down very nicely too. We enjoyed it so much that we went back two nights later, just for the meal this time. You don't get to sit with such a good view of the band or the dancers, but you can hear it all going on and still enjoy it. The band was different this time, but the Murphy's was still excellent. I would recommend a meal here unreservidly, a great night out. Some things are still right in this worldMore

Every time we call to Kare Kearneys , no matter how busy they are you’re always welcome by a member of the team with a smile. If they didn’t have a table right away, it’s always nice to have a drink with the locals while...one of the team would get you a table. We were a party of 4 last night, we must say the food was scrumptious and we had a great evening , always great to see Sean and he has a great team leader in Eileen . Also a big thanks to the team in the kitchen.More

In this instance I don’t believe that was the reason. 90% of the adults in Ireland have been double vaccinated. It was simply down to a shortage of staff.

I really don't remember as I was with a group on a tour bus. I would ask around. Have a great time and I know you will enjoy the food and the restaurant itself.

Food service starts at 12.30 but the cafe across the way and the cafe down the road both serve breakfast during the tourist season
