We have been going to Kate Kearneys For meals fairly regularly over the past 6years since we moved to Kerry. Our friends and family who came to visit were treated to a meal in Kate Kearneys. During lock downs we often ordered takeaway from Kates...and when possible we would drive our camper there and treat ourselves to a meal in the carpark. They now have a Marquee in their carpark as an alternative to dining outdoors. The food is always excellent. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit when in the regionMore

We visited Kate Kearney’s cottage for lunch and a walk, on arrival we seen a few tables outside and a counter service to order food and drink. You can only sit outside and there was no mention of this on their website, we ordered our...food and drink and the waitress didn’t so much as smile at us, seemed like an inconvenience for her to serve us, also a surprise to hear that an Irish tourist destination with such beautiful surroundings doesn’t serve a traditional Irish coffee, only an instant coffee version. Staff didn’t seem overly welcoming and was unusual that you cannot sit indoors. The food however was tasty and the walks around the place are great.More

When We first entered the premises , myself and my husband were welcomed with open arms by a tall elegant handsome young waiter who brought us to our table which we had reserved. Upon speaking to the waiter we became Deep in conversation with the...dazzling young fellow, David I believe his name was. As we were travelling from Dublin and had never been to the Gap of dunloe area before he spoke of the wonderful attractions we must visit upon our stay. Almost getting a full tour guide experience from the impressive young man. For the food my husband ordered the steak and chips while I opted for the 5 oz burger with chips. both by all accounts went down a threat and we were delighted by the food and enthusiastic staff. Would recommendMore

Been using kates for over 12 yrs , in all that time enjoyed great quality, food and service , the choice is superb , and great value , if your feeling really indulgent, go for the bacon or steak loaded chips Mmmmmmmm, there is also...the location overlooking the gap of dunloe and strickeen mountain ,( you might try walking that first , to cope with great portions lol , just a suggestion 😊😊😊More

In this instance I don’t believe that was the reason. 90% of the adults in Ireland have been double vaccinated. It was simply down to a shortage of staff.

I really don't remember as I was with a group on a tour bus. I would ask around. Have a great time and I know you will enjoy the food and the restaurant itself.

Food service starts at 12.30 but the cafe across the way and the cafe down the road both serve breakfast during the tourist season
