Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to Hannigan’s for Sunday lunch and we were glad we did. We both had the lamb shank roast and it was melt in the mouth delicious, loads of veg and gravy. We sat in the outdoor seating which was great, it was packed,...the seats were full all day. It’s a really good spot and the staff are great. The outdoor seating goes from one end of the hotel to the other and it is completely enclosed and has a cover for the winter, it’s really good and a great atmosphere. We sat outside for a few hours having a drink then we went inside for a coffee in the evening and it was busy in there too with a mixture locals and tourists. Really great spot, will definitely return.More

Standard pub food. Service was good and at least they were showing Wimbledon. We were lucky to get a nice table after the Gaelic Football match was over!

My wife and I with our two kids dropped in for lunch at approximately 12.30pm . We initially sat outside but with the poor weather we moved indoors. So we placed our order and waited. The service was slow. The place was not overly busy...but the staff seemed very unorganised. My kids got 2 portions of kids pasta which were absolutely tiny. My wife had a simple toasted ham sandwich with chips and a small salad. I had a simple grilled chicken salad. Tea for 2. The salad was very basic, 90% leaf. The chicken was overly done by far. We had to request cutlery, salt and pepper. Instead of the table being preset. The biggest problem was the price. Over €53 . I have absolutely no problem paying good money but this was ridiculous especially for the very basic of meals. I lived in Killarney for years and the hospitality businesses are killing the town. Yes the cost of living has gone up but this really took the biscuit. Last time ever going here.More

Amazing food and fabulous staff. Booked dinner for my mom's birthday. Reception staff were lovely when making booking very accommodating. We had a 3 course meals with lots of options and good gluten free options also. The Jacobs ladder was like melt in the mouth...slow cooled beef Chowder was so tasty and creamy. The staff were so friendly and obliging and sang happy birthday. Colm was playing in the bar fantastic singer and really enjoyable. Thank you for a lovely evening. For my mom's 80th one to remember. Highly recommend this place.More

after a long day, we opted to eat at the hotel restaurant, which was highly rated. we were seated in an old school dining room complete with leather and wood. a reasonable wine list yielded a couple bottles that were more than serviceable. a correctly...made whiskey sour started me off. mushroom risotto arancini made for a delicious starter. the wife opted for a Guinness stew and I chose the roast of the day which was roast beef. dessert was sticky toffee pudding, paired with a shot of espresso. very good and a jovial waitstaff made for a very good meal. Outdoor seating on one of the warmer days for Ireland. Service was very slow and a waiter not assigned to our table finally took our order. Drinks came out a little slow as well. While there was a good number of people, it should not...have delayed service. The cheeseburger was a good, average burger, good sized. It came with French fries which does not happen too often in Ireland. Price was a little steep.More

On a very busy Sunday, my wife and I had lunch at Hannigan's. My wife enjoyed her ham & cheese sandwich. I thought the vegetable soup was very good, and the brown bread was excellent. Prices were moderate, as lunch, with tip, ran us under...25 €.More

This is a fabulous Gastro bar, with lovely decor and nice food. We were there on a Friday night and there were lots of small friend groups meeting up with everyone looking like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves. We had cocktails to start and they...were suitably decadent, we enjoyed the drinks so much that we decided to stay for some food. We had a load of starters for our dinner and each one hit the spot. I highly recommend this place the adjoining pub is fantastic with an abundance of snugs and the cocktail lounge and dining room have a fabulous atmosphere and the service is warm, fast and very friendly.More

I dined here with friends in February and really enjoyed Lunch. The opportunity came up for me to recommend somewhere as I was meeting with three other friends and I suggested here. I ordered exactly the same as previous time and unfortunately there was absolutely...no comparison. I had the Goats Cheese Flat bread. The first time was just lovely. Last week there were two pieces of pear and one piece of walnut. The onion relish was very scarce and the presentation was not as good as previous time. My husband had the steak sandwich and could not believe that there was ketchup with it rather than a pepper sauce or garlic butter. The desserts also were not as good. The eton mess certainly was a mess, and the cheesecake (raspberry & white chocolate) had zero flavour. Our friend had a cappuccino and I was so embarrassed as half of the milk foam was down the left side and all over the saucer when he was served it. The amercianos were given no milk jug and it was a bit of an ordeal to ask for it. Was disappointed as 3 weeks it was so much better. Not good enough if there was a different chef on etc as it should be consistent no matter what day or time of day you go. Customers still pay the same moneyMore
