Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had breakfast two mornings in the Bacchus Room and it was excellent. The coffee was served fresh in a pot. All the cereals and breads and fruits and yogurts were self service. The hot food was freshly cooked and was really good. They have...a very good chef at this hotel.More

The breakfast that we had at the Bacchus Room was the best that we had during our stay in Ireland. We had one dinner there which was also very good.

Expectations of hotel restaurants can sometimes not be met but the food in this was superb. We have done fine dining in Vegas and the steak here was on a par. The service was well-placed and the waiter was friendly and helpful. We found the...lighting a little dark but not a major issue. Would definitely go again.More

My wife and i ate at the riverside hotel at the weekend and i found the whole experience to be wonderfull . When we arrived we went to the bar for a drink first. I had a pint of guinmess and my wife had a...glass of wine both were on point . The bar decor is nice and we felt comfortable and were nicely greeted by the server , she even asked if we would like to change the channel on the tv as we were watching it . I asked for the football and was duely granted . We then went to The Bacchus Room restaurant for our meal this was well laid out too and we admired the huge clock which we now want for our kitchen 🤣🤣. I ordered black pudding for starter it was delicious . My wife asked for a steak sandwich from the bar menu which i dont think she was supposed to but the waiter checked with the chef and he said he'd oblige. I ordered the surf and turf ( fillet of beef with crab claws) this is the only reason I'm writing a review as i don't do it often . It was out of this world . I asked for it medium and it was . Hot all the way through the knife cut through it like butter it actually melted in my mouth, delicious flavour and a beautiful sauce to boot accompanied by a selection of vegetables i can not commend it more .More

My wife and I stopped in at this restaurant about an hour before they shut down for the night. The restaurant was mostly empty and the waiters didn't seem thrilled to see us. Service was very poor despite the place being mostly empty, and we...were largely ignored for the whole night. The restaurant was quite dark and there were no plates to eat the bread which was brought to us at the start of the meal. The food itself was very overpriced for what we got. Both of our plates were covered in oil (like they had just plopped the meat onto the dish and dumped pan juices out with them), and our meats were both overcooked. There wasn't much of what we ordered on the plates as the portions were quite small, but we got a side dish of vegetables and a croquette, which was unexpected but still better than the main dishes. The salsa (?) under my fish tasted like raw red peppers and nothing else. I think some of the items that were supposed to be on my plate were missing, but I couldn't catch the attention of a member of staff to ask for a menu. The desserts were also very small and overpriced. This was a very disappointing experience in an otherwise lovely visit to Killarney.More

Dined here recently with a friend before going to a show at the INEC. We stayed in the hotel and got a good rate for dinner b/b. For starters we both chose crab claws the were over cooked, dry and tough to eat. For mains...I had surf and turf, the steak was delicious and perfectly cooked as was the selection of vegetables and potatoes but again the crab claws were over cooked. My friend had goose which was tough and over cooked. She was very disappointed. I had complained to our waiter after our starters about the fish being over cooked but obviously it didn’t matter to the chef. Dessert of crepe brûlée was good. This experience wouldn’t put me off dining here again. Staff were very friendly.More

We ate here as a group and have to say the staff went above and beyond for us! This was definitely the best dinig experience I've had in Killarney, I can't wait to return with just my partner to enjoy it again by ourselves. The...food was simply perfect, every dish was to the highest standard and we all left stuffed! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!More

We decided to stay & dine here on Thursday, before doing a Marathon in Dingle this weekend. The food in the restaurant was unreal. Very fresh, nicely presented, cooked with attention to details. I am usually a very fussy about my food, but there was...nothing I didn't like or eat. Will be definitely back when next time in Killarney.More
