Awsome place , fresh food , lots of options , and i will kill to find the garlic sauce recepie . I have recently been through Galway , and for the past 3 years it has been tradition to go by here everytime when we...are in the area . But unfortunatly it is closed untill further notice .... I will be comming in the near future again through Galway and i wanted to know if you guys will be open or if you have a ETA .More
When you order at the till you then have to wait by the bar to collect your own food..and each portion of what you ordered is on a different plate which makes it impossible to carry it all at once so you have to go...back and forth to your table to bring your meal and drinks down which is a bit ridiculous? I won’t be coming back.More
Visited here with my wife and kids and I have to say I was disgusted with the attitude from the staff, the toilets were disgraceful and the food even worse. I had the mackerel and it wasn’t fresh at all.
It was soggy, and completely...tasteless. It was definitely in the deep freezer for weeks! I was completely shocked that a fast food restaurant in the centre of Galway would serve such terrible food. My wife had the fish and chips and hers was also disgusting. If you’re in the area of shop street, avoid this place like the plague. Never, ever, ever again! Make a trip to MacDonalds, you’d get better food and service with a smile!More
A friend of mine was raving about this place so when we finally gave in and went along we were very glad we did! I had the Ray and Chips and it was cooked to perfection 👌 The batter was crispy and the ray was...tender. I'm not a huge fan of chips most of the time but I finished these ones off! So tasty. I will definitely be visiting again when I'm back in Galway.More
I have eaten in McDonagh’s many many times over the years. It has never failed to deliver when it comes to Fish ‘n Chips!
Whether you are a local or a visitor to Galway, if you want the best around, you won’t beat McDonagh’s. Beautiful...fish and without doubt the best chips in Galway.
I would recommend McDonagh’s to everyone without hesitation.More
Maybe it's Covid, but we always came here on our trips to Galway. Was always a fantastic fish n' chips treat, old style. Utterly disappointed this week, arrived, reheated food plopped on counter before I even paid. They had nothing we wanted from the menu,...no drinks we wanted. Offered tap water! No thanks! Food was not edible, chicken had no meat, loos were dirty, had to serve myself and family. Staff didn't care. Particularly the lady at the till. What a shame, end of a fine Galway tradition. Won't be back.More
