If you need some fish and chips, this is the place to go. Quite busy but order and wait, you will have a nice meal.

I think so! The fish is so fresh it could wink at you. The portions are great and the flavours take you back to childhood days. A must visit if in Galway

My friend suggested going here for Christmas. I actually thought we were going to the take away so was surprised there were waitresses. The food was good but it was not a place to linger to chat. Not a great choice for our type of...More

We ordered fried fish and chips - apparently their specialty. What we got were cold soggy chips and greasy fat dripping seafood. This restaurant obviously does not have its cooking oil hot enough to ‘flash fry’ the batter. The result is that the cooking oil...More

The McDonagh’s of my childhood features in almost all of my modern-day fish and chip cravings, alas that McDonagh’s is no more and in its place - a disappointing imposter! I assured my partner we would get the best fish and chips this side of...More

We opted to sit down in the restaurant part instead of the take away side. Dinner was fresh and delicious. They will not split the bill between people at the table. Scallops were large and yummy. Fish and chips was ok. Salmon was great...both baked...More

No questions. Go. Eat. Enjoy. There is no more to think about. Fish is incredible. Chips are incredible. A Galway institution.

Super quick food, and fairly inexpensive. The fish and chips was amazing! Would definitely visit again next time I go to Galway.

Best chips in town. Maybe the world to be honest! If not into fish, chicken is also fantastic. Love it!

You may want to contact the restaurant with your question as I doubt any customer will know the content of food items.

Mc Donagh's have been tantalising the taste buds of both Visitor and Local for four generations. The Family knowledge of Fish and dedication to their customers has earned them the reputation of being one of Ireland's best Seafood's Houses. Mc Donagh's is divided into two sections: In the Seafood Restaurant you will find a great variety of fish dishes on our menu. From native Clarenbridge Oysters, Salmon, Crab, Scallops,Prawns, Hake, Lemon Sole, Plaice, Haddock, Wild Mussels and Ray. Smoked Salmon from Connemara and whatever else the Fisherman can get his hands on. A new addition to our menu is Irish Rib Eye Steak from Mc Geough's Butchers Oughterard Co. Galway. In our Fish & Chips Bar the fish is cooked to order, and you are guaranteed the freshest of Chips, as our potatoes are peeled and cut on the premises. Our Fish & Chips can be eaten on the premises or taken away, we also have outside seating during the summer months.
