I'm never disappointed by Hooked. This restaurant offers fish courses and the fish is always from the catch of the day, therefore supper fresh. Their range of price is more than fair (from 12€ to 24€ for a meal). The desserts are excellent (100% recommend to have the churros) and they even have vegetarian friendly meals. It's a must in Galway !

My wife and I recently went to Hooked for chowder and mussels. If you want unprecedented fresh seafood served in a casual friendly environment this is the place! Our server was pleasant even with the 5 other tables she was serving. The chowder was absolutely delicious with ample fish throughout. The mussels were tender and delicate served in a white wine garlic broth “goodness” that I wanted to pick up the entire bowl and drink. Forget the touristy main strip restaurants and get yourself over to the West End for some solid seafood. Best meal we had in Ireland! Thank you

we had an excellent meal. The fish is so fresh you can tell with the first and last bite of everything. Everything we ordered was prepared with precision and technique you'd expect in a high end restaurant. Even the side salad was gorgeous and tasty. Locals are real lucky to have a restaurant this good to return to. If I was a local, Hooked would be a 2 or more times a week visit. What is mind boggling is that we had the daily fish special on risotto and you could easily pay double for the same entree at a fancier restaurant and Hooked's version would be better. With the first bite you can tell the Chefs really care about their craft and the plates they serve. Fish can't be any fresher or tastier than at Hooked. Make a reservation and you won't regret it.

Booked a reservation a day before because they are always packed and we were just in Galway for a couple of days. We went on the reserved date, 30mins before the booked time and turns out they didn’t record my booking whoever is the guy I talked to. I was so disappointed because it’s difficult to find a place to eat in the evening in Galway City centre. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, but if they don’t know how to take care of their customers, IT’S NOT WORTH IT.

This restaurant caters to caucasians. We were excited to eat here and unfortunately the service was terrible! I have never completed a review and blamed bad service on racism. However, this is the first and in Ireland of all places! The red head and short haired blond in this Hook restaurant need to be unhooked! They suck! Worst display of racism. We were seated in the corner and another group who looked to be middle eastern were seated right in front the restrooms. I heard them ask if they can move to the next table and the red head rudely told them no, another group was arriving & will sit in that table. There were 5 caucasians to the 6 middle easterners that were already seated in front of the restrooms. We noticed all the great service provided to all the other white patrons and not us or the other group. We were seated in the worst seats in the restaurant and left with no service. 10 minutes to get our drink orders & food. Another 15 minutes to receive our drinks, 20 minutes to get appetizers and entrées never made it almost 30 minutes later because we left. We noticed that the other colored group did so too. The appetizers we did receive was mediocre at best. Too much aiole and not enough cheese sauce. See the seating arrangements from our vantage point? Gobdaw!

My daughter had picked here, we had a bit of a walk to find it and wondered what type of restaurant she had chosen. It was amazing the Salt and Pepper Calimari was fab. Fish pie is definitely worthy of a 10/10 and the shell fish plate was the best my daughter had ever got. Well spaced and good service despite being very busy

Visited this restaurant mid afternoon on a friday, no problem getting seated at this time. Had a plate of chips as a starter as none of us had ordered mains with chips. The chips were nice and crisp. Main courses, calamari with salad, fish pie and seafood risotto. We all enjoyed our meals immensley, good portions and everything tasted really good. We intend to eat there again before the end of our holiday. Service good.

I had the absolute pleasure of eating here today with my husband & 12 year old son, I just can't explain how amazing the food was, we can happily recommend - calamari, onion rings, chowder, fish & chips & fish goujons oh & the mushy peas 😋 stunning food & the staff where so lovely they couldn't do enough for us. All covid rules & regulations where absolutely adhered to. Felt so safe & at ease, made our trip to Galway.

This was terrible. We had reservations for this place, and despite emailing them 4 weeks in advance, they had only sent us an automated email that we thought was a conformation. However, when we arrived, our reservation wasn't valid, and they said they didn't check their email in 4 WEEKS. We asked if there was anything that they could do, and the lady offered us a table, and then took it away as soon as we were sitting down. She then said "I could do something for you, but in an hour." We didn't have anywhere else to eat, so we chose to eat there, but when the food arrived the kids portions were minuscule and the adult fish and chips were alright.

My sister lives in Ireland and we visited this place on a day trip to Galway whilst staying with my sister. We booked in advance as we had read the reviews beforehand and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived, we didn't expect it to be where it was, probably about a 10 minute walk out of the city. We had mac and cheese with spicy prawns (which sounded an interesting combination but was absolutely beautiful) and the sharing nachos with bacon jam and spicy prawns which were amazing. Seafood chowder was to die for, sweet potato fries were delicious and two portions of fish and chips. One adult portion and one kids portion. Kids portion was plenty big enough for an adult for a lighter lunch but my little girl had it (and she is a very fussy eater) and loved it. Batter was light and fluffy and the fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and so tasty. Absolutely pristine restaurant and clean with a good atmosphere and music. Lovely, friendly staff. What a place and a meal we will remember for a long time to come. Hooked, we will be back next time we are in Galway. Absolutely lived it and couldn't fault anything about it. Keep up the fab work!

We visited Hooked Fish Restaurant last evening. It was very busy and there was a great Buzz in the place. As it was so busy and that we’d have to wait a little while for a table , we decided to go for a Takeaway. After having said hello to Mó in the kitchen, I ordered the fish and chips - it was beautifully presented with lemon and a little tub of tarter sauce. The fish was hake and so fresh. We enjoyed every last morsel. We highly recommend Hooked Fish Restaurant. Try it out for yourself you won’t be disappointed

After seeing numerous great reviews we walked up to the Henry Street location on a Saturday night. We did not realize how small the restaurant was and perhaps would have gone earlier. Initially, they did not think they had room for us, but we must have looked so disappointed that they offered to push two small tables together to accommodate our family of four. We were so happy they did, the food was incredible, you just knew it was fresh from the bay seafood. The seasonings they used for batter on the tempura prawns was incredible, you barely needed any of the dipping sauces because they were perfectly cooked. My husband pronounced Hooked the best fish and chips he had in Galway and my daughter enjoyed the shrimp po boy as well. The service was great and we tried not to linger because we wanted to free up the table for another family to enjoy. I greatly appreciated how they made room for us and it goes to show that they love what they do and want to share their love of seafood with Galway’s visitors.

We were there last week and it is a fabulous fish restaurant, the prices are good, the food quality very good and the staff are friendly. We will definitely go back. My daughter had calamari to start and mussels as a main and said they were great and my wife ate sea bas which she said was really fresh and she loved it. I had monkfish goujons and they were very good. So overall, a lovely evening, if you're in the area and you like fish and don't want to pay top dollar, Id go there.

Came here for a bite on a Sunday afternoon, got a table easily but still a lot of people here. Welcomed by 2 hardworking waitresses (Mary and Alanna) who were kept busy but made it look very easy, good on you guys!! Food was amazing, got the croquettes and a coffee! The food was so fresh you could really taste it! Decor and ambience were great too. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend to all

This tiny restaurant accommodated our group of 30+ and did it well. The crab cake appetizer was delicious; the large portion of fish & chips was hot and fresh and the warm brownie dessert was delicious. The 3 servers did an amazing job of taking care of as as well as the 4-5 other parties that were there.
