We visited Hooked Fish Restaurant last evening. It was very busy and there was a great Buzz in the place. As it was so busy and that we’d have to wait a little while for a table , we decided to go for a Takeaway....After having said hello to Mó in the kitchen, I ordered the fish and chips - it was beautifully presented with lemon and a little tub of tarter sauce. The fish was hake and so fresh. We enjoyed every last morsel. We highly recommend Hooked Fish Restaurant. Try it out for yourself you won’t be disappointedMore

We had a splendid lunch in this nice (not very big) establishment a few blocks away from the main stretch. The food was excellent and the service very fast and friendly. We'd go there again.

This tiny restaurant accommodated our group of 30+ and did it well. The crab cake appetizer was delicious; the large portion of fish & chips was hot and fresh and the warm brownie dessert was delicious. The 3 servers did an amazing job of taking...care of as as well as the 4-5 other parties that were there.More

My sister lives in Ireland and we visited this place on a day trip to Galway whilst staying with my sister. We booked in advance as we had read the reviews beforehand and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived, we didn't expect it to be...where it was, probably about a 10 minute walk out of the city. We had mac and cheese with spicy prawns (which sounded an interesting combination but was absolutely beautiful) and the sharing nachos with bacon jam and spicy prawns which were amazing. Seafood chowder was to die for, sweet potato fries were delicious and two portions of fish and chips. One adult portion and one kids portion. Kids portion was plenty big enough for an adult for a lighter lunch but my little girl had it (and she is a very fussy eater) and loved it. Batter was light and fluffy and the fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and so tasty. Absolutely pristine restaurant and clean with a good atmosphere and music. Lovely, friendly staff. What a place and a meal we will remember for a long time to come. Hooked, we will be back next time we are in Galway. Absolutely lived it and couldn't fault anything about it. Keep up the fab work!More

My husband loved the mussels, delicious & a generous serving to boot. He also had tempura prawns which he enjoyed equally. I had the salad & garlic bread. Good too. Would definitely return & recommend.

The place has some cool decor/features. We ordered the seafood risotto and the fish pie. They were OK, not much fish/seafood in either (especially the rissoto) . Probably our fault for ordering them though, it's not something we typically order so it could just be...how the dish is done.More

Recommended by our Airbnb host for fish and chips, this restaurant is that and a whole lot more. A menu of standard and more inventive seafood dishes. I had fish stew a bouliabase like stew of cod, salmon, mussels, calamar, shrimp and more in a...tomato like broth with garlic bread. GF had seafood risotto. Everything was tasty well prepared and well presented. The staff was helpful and pleasant. No wonder it was crowded on a Tuesday evening. Fairly reasonably priced meal tooMore

Some of the best fried fish I have ever had. I could eat it everyday. I would say the chips are not the best and don’t have much flavor.
