This was one of the best italians we have ever ate in in Ireland. We love Italian food but a regular issue would be pasta dishes being drowned in cream...which they don’t actually do in Italy. Here the dishes were beautiful. Light, flavoursome and carbonara...made with an egg which is the proper way and proper pancetta. The venue itself is very scenic overlooking a river and a break from the madness of inner city Galway, pricing is reasonable. I would highly recommend this placeMore
Booked table for two. Arrived did not ask for cert or id. Offered but suggestion declined. Said we don't check I believe you!
Served by 3 staff with no masks whom also served 4 other tables. No staff in Restaurant had any PPE masks.Brought to...managers attention whom didn't seem to see my point. Explained its all on line on Gov.ie...but response was its not the law.
Heard staff talking about me in behind reception desk. I just felt unsafe. As a front line worker I've seen it all....I will support business if they try I will try.More
First time eating here and we absolutely love everything about this place, the staff, service, attentiveness, atmosphere, I can’t recommend highly enough. From the minute we stepped inside we knew we were going to have a fabulous evening. Just down to the way we were...greeted by staff from the off. The food is second to none and the next time we are visiting Galway it will be first on our list for dinner. I would give this restaurant 10
Stars if the rating allowed it.More
Had one of the best meals I've eaten in years. The food was amazing, the staff were outstanding, the ambience was so calm and the setting was stunning.
I would definitely recommend to anyone to go and treat themselves.
Please some Christmas spirit, this year- and some decorations wouldn’t hurt; maybe even a tree? We’ve been for dinner every Christmas Eve for the last 3 years but had intended to go elsewhere this year due to the lack of the aforementioned.
We had previously dined here and enjoyed it very much but were very disappointed on this visit.
I ordered a pasta dish with ndjua sausage and when it came the pasta was different and it was some other sausage. I queried this as I am...familiar with this ingredient and was fobbed off, being told that it was what was advertised when it was obviously something different.
Only about half the servers wore face coverings and by the end of the night we could only see one staff member wearing one. We observed the ‘cleaning’ of a table after customers had left and their sanitizing was a joke. We will not be revisiting especially during the ongoing COVID pandemic.More
Had a fantastic meal here with my boyfriend during a visit to Galway. We were so happy we chose IL Vicolo as a place to dine on our trip. It lives up to all of our expectations of wonderful Italian food executed perfectly.
The cocktails...to start were delicious and very reasonably priced. The warm focaccia served with the starter of meatballs was just perfection and the mains to follow (gnocci and risotto) were just as wonderful!
We luckily squeezed in the panna cotta for dessert and this finished the meal on such a high note.
Service was as wonderful as all the food with very obliging and kind staff. Amazing meal and looking forward to returning!More
My second time eating at IL Vicolo . We ate on a sunny Saturday . This restaurant is very unique given its location overlooking the corrib . The views from inside or outside are nothing short of exceptional .
We requested to sit outside if...a table became available and our needs were met promptly. Staff are extremely personable kind friendly and chatty . I ordered the charred mackerel with salad and brown bread and a side of parmesan and garlic sauce potatoes . My friend ordered a burrata salad. Both were delicious . The only criticism I had was perhaps the table we sat at could have been cleaned better there were some food particles found . This does not take away from the wonderful experience I have had both times here .More
Buuuaaahaaahaaa! Are there any nice bars nearby? This is Galway, Ireland. There are not just "any good bars." There are a zillion good bars! Including The Kings Head - 800 years old. Have fun on the pub crawl!
