I written a review of this as part of my review of the the Glendo Abbey. I would avoid eating here. The food was poorly cooked and generally cold. Probably because of a substandard kitchen in a railway carriage.

Our reservations were at 7 and when we arrived maybe five minutes before, no one was to be found at the entrance. A random passing by employee informed the staff in the back car we were waiting. That being said our service was good following...More

The ambiance of the Pullman restaurant is fabulous and perhaps worth the price tag. However, the limited menu and the only average quality of the food did not match the setting. The presentation was lovely, but the food was generally uninspired and not worth the...More

Pullman is located in an original Orient Express car, which is quite unique. All of our meals were outstanding and done to perfection. Nice wine and beer selection.

Myself and my husband dined here this weekend, our third time in 17 years, we got engaged here in 2000. We were really looking forward to our trip down memory lane, the setting, the immaculately tended grounds, the wonderful cozy period decor and soothing pianist...More

Not quite 5 star menu but service and food amazing, and through it was just a small menu that unique atmosphere makes it worthwhile!

Visited here with friends for what was supposed to be an enjoyable dinner, but in fact was a complete let down. Food and service was just ok which should not be the case at €60 p/head...without drinks !!

Description
The Pullman Restaurant on the grounds of Glenlo Abbey Hotel is one of Ireland's truly unique dining experiences. Comprising of two dining carriages from the Orient Express, beautifully restored and now set on the grounds of the 5 star Glenlo Abbey Hotel, offers panoramic views overlooking Lough Corrib. Located just 2 miles from Galway, on the West Coast of Ireland, this is a dining experience not to be missed on your trip to Galway. One of the carriages, the Leona, dates back to 1927 and was part of the original Orient Express and carried VIP's all over Europe and the UK during its lifespan. 1965 saw Leona's final journey when she was used as part of Winston Churchill's funeral cortege. After this event, Leona with other carriages played a staring role in the classic movie, "Murder on the Orient Express", which featured greats such as Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall and Sean Connery. Opened in May 1998, the Pullman Restaurant aboard the Orient Express enjoys fabulous views of Lough Corrib and ironically 300 metres away from the old track bed of the now lost Galway-Clifden railway line. Majestically rising from the still waters of Lough Corrib and dating back to the 18th Century, the 5 star Glenlo Abbey Hotel is where old world charm meets contemporary elegance. From the moment you drive through our magnificent cast iron gates the beauty of this enchanting lakeside estate overlooking Lough Corrib will captivate you.
