A fantastic evening managed by excellent staff and a must visit to anyone coming to Galway. We held a 40 person dinner at the Brasserie and during our whole stay in Galway it was the best restaurant we went to. The place was packed but the excellent and courteous waiting staff handled our group and the service like the we were the only people there. Nothing was too much trouble and often they were being asked multiple things in a very busy atmosphere and they reacted with calmness and more importantly genuine friendliness. We were all served at once, food was excellent, fresh and hot - something no other restaurant managed that week. It was a real pleasure to dine there and hats off to all the staff who looked after us that night as they have it down pat and the management should be very proud, its truly deserving our its reputation. We had some allergy requirements in amongst our group that were dealt with discretely and with accuracy and everyone came away well fed. Excellent value for money and the staff are true credit to the restaurant. Thank you for taking such good care of a very rowdy group!

We visited Galway for my wife's birthday in February this year. Blakesley on the corner was recommended to us so we gave it a try, so glad we did as even though the restaurant was very busy on the Sunday evening the staff went out of their way to get us a table. I had a chicken dish and couldn't fault it and it was reasonably priced also had a pint or two of Guinness highly recommended it also. Enjoyed it so much went back on the Monday evening. I would highly recommend the experience to everyone.

We ate in this Brasserie during our trip to Galway, very good mussels and toast with potato and onion soup the same. We also had desserts, which were really delicious, especially the chocolate brownie with ice cream. The owner was very nice, we laughed and joked together, if I were to return to Galway I would definitely go back. A big hello to Ulik! Claudia

I write this as a source of encouragement and as a former teaching chef I would have some knowledge of food prep and service. My wife and I had fish and chips. When we saw the dish it was obvious the batter was way overcooked which meant the fish unfortunately would be the same. The chips were hard like as if stored too long in water. Poor limp salad. Tartare sauce was mayonaise without the chopped pickles. Most eating houses serve mushy peas with this dish. I know the Brasserie is better than this because we have been partaking of delightful food there for years

Unfortunately I never got to try the food. We were seated, ordered and while waiting for our mussels were given butter and lemon water. After waiting about 30mins and seeing that people who had arrived after us had been served food we tried to get the attention of the waitress to no avail. I finally caught the attention of the manager who said our mussels had been overlooked so they had to start again. She offered to bring bread, which after a further 10 mins never materialised. It's seems like a lovely restaurant and from what I could see of others peoples food, while staring hungrily, it did look nice. However, the service was very poor, perhaps they didn't put our order in to begin with. We ended up leaving after a wasted 40mins and went to Quay street kitchen which was very good and excellent service. On my sister's review they said they offered dessert, which is a lie. Sadly we went to celebrate my birthday which put a damper on the celebrations.

Manager Blakes Bar
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review It it is greatly appreciated. We are extremely disappointed that our high standards weren’t met, during your visit to Blake's bar. Sometimes things can go wrong and we sincerely apologise that this delay happened to you on your visit. The manager on duty was alerted of the delay by the team and came to speak with you on the day. They were profusely apologetic on your wait time and that it was priority in our kitchen. The management and the team take every complaint extremely seriously but you had left abruptly without speaking with us. We were offering you complimentary desserts for the delay inconvenience. We would have sang a Happy Birthday if we had known of the celebrations. You had not booked and were seated in the bar so we had no way to contact you to follow up. I do hope that you do give us another try in the future and if you do, email me directly on manager@brasseriegalway.com Sincere apologies again to you and your sister.

Read great things about this restaurant, however we were really disappointed. Waited an hour and a half for our food and when it arrived parts of the food were cold, not just not warm but cold. They did not charge for a bottle of wine as a gesture of goodwill but we would have preferred the experience that we should have had.

While staying in Galway, my husband and I ate dinner here 3 out of 4 nights. Clearly, we are fans! The meal starts with freshly baked bread that is made on-site. It is delicious! If you order before 7pm, you can choose from a price fixed menu, which is a nice deal. During our multiple visits, we tried several dishes. My favorites are the whipped Galway goat's cheese, McGeough's slow roast shoulder of lamb, and warm sticky toffee pudding. Now, I need to plan another visit to Ireland, so I can eat here again!

This charming establishment offers an exceptional dining experience, boasting a delightful atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and an impressive array of wines, beers, and spirits. However, the true standout was undeniably their Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding, which I dare say is one of the best I've ever had! Adding to the ambiance was the live music, a tasteful addition that set this place apart from the typical "live band scene" you might encounter at other pubs. Kudos to the talented musicians who graced us with their melodies on a Thursday evening! While the overall experience was truly enjoyable, I must note a minor hiccup - the waiting staff seemed a bit preoccupied. Striking the right balance between attentiveness can be tricky, and on this occasion, we found ourselves actively seeking their attention. Perhaps some managerial attention to this could elevate the overall dining experience. In summary, would I return? Absolutely! The exceptional food, inviting atmosphere, and unforgettable Toffee Pudding make this place a gem, and perfection is… always somewhat elusive.

Poor service and poor quality food and most wines on wine list NOT AVAILABLE! Firstly at least half the whites not available as “sold out!?”, then got our order wrong - when asked re same said they would swap my piece of fish onto another plate with other accompaniments. 😳, (no thanks swapping the fish to another plate!) 4 of our group got steaks and they were all totally over cooked (ordered medium all well done). Also kept forgetting to bring drinks had to ask multiple times and finally cancelled the last drinks. VERY disappointed. Would not recommend.

We called ahead to see if they had a table available for the evening and they said either right away or not until late, so we went right away. We ordered the fish including some from the specials menu and they were delicious. Each came with a side which were fine, but not great. They offered bread ahead of the meal and both the soda and Guinness bread were delicious.

Book table for 8 pm Tuesday the 13th. Arrived and table was not ready so had a drink at the bar. After few minutes our table was ready. Food was amazing. I had the Pan-fried scallops and then had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection wanted to lick the plate clean was that good. My girlfriend had the soup and fillet steak and she was happy way hers was cooked. Then we both finished off with the sticky toffee Food was savage and service was 100% from all staff. Definitely worth it and we will be back again

We had a lovely meal. The food was great and the staff were so nice. I have allergies and the staff were so accommodation. They were able to give me salmon, and plain vegetables. Other places insist on giving you the plain vegetables as extra and charge you extra. But the Brazzerie on the Corner were exceptional and so accommodating. Thank you!! It can be difficult with allergies and you made sure I had a great evening.

We have been today for a late lunch with family and friends and enjoyed an excellent food experience. To recommend the mussels, the whipped Galway goat cheese, the fish soup and the rib of beef roast! The service, extremely kind and friendly, has been the cherry on the cake of a great lunch. Strongly recommended.

This was our first ever night in Ireland. We wanted a characterful restaurant and it was. The brasserie was very nicely furnished and “dressed” with a warm friendly atmosphere. The fish chowder was 10/10 and we loved the 3 breads offered as part of the meal. I had a very nice pork belly and onion mash and our friends had fish and chips. I would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable. But my favourite part was our waitresses the twins they were fun characterful and engaging. 2 absolute gems!

We sat at the bar and with 4 people behind the bar it took literally 10 minutes to ask someone for a drink for my wife and I. I mean no one would make eye contact with you. I ordered a Hennessys but the bar tender couldn’t reach the bottle so I got a Jamison instead, it was on the lower shelf. After finally getting the menus, we waited for someone to make eye contact, again there were 4 people behind the bar, all busy but please look up! Finally after 25 minutes we paid for our drinks and got dinner at another restaurant. Very bad experience here and no sign of customer service. No awards given out here.
