Food is excellent. Great service and atmosphere.
Great place for family, friends for lunch and dinner. I also hear they do a great Irish Breakfast.
If you are in Galway for a couple of days you must come here!
I studied abroad in Galway for a couple months. My friends and I went here so many times for their wings and spicy wedges. The food is amazing and comes in large portions. The atmosphere is incredible!
The cellar is one of my favorite places to eat in galway. Whether it's a family, friend or solo outing it is perfect. The staff are always a pleasure and not only is the food delicious but there is something for everyone.
As a visitor to Galway we hadn't anticipated the need to book in advance. The Cellar were very good in accommodating us for drinks and lite bites. All the girls should be commended for their welcome and attentiveness. Great cocktails too. I would definitely recommend.
Went to this restaurant last Saturday evening.. Food was average but the service was awful. The waitress got my boyfriends order wrong when he pointed it out to her she just said ok & took his plate.. Arrived back 15 mins or so later with...correct order (I had almost finished my food) put the plate down without a word or an apology for the mix up or delay! Didn’t come near us again we had to ask another waitress passing for some more drinks.. also when the waitress was taking our order she kept rubbing her nose with her hand under her visor and then we saw her take down and tie her hair back up while standing around chatting to other staff.. I would not go back there!More
We ate here earlier this week. We had booked 3 nights away and I’d looked at a lot of restaurants as we wanted to book in advance. Delighted with this choice, all our food was so fresh and really delicious, portions are so generous, cocktails...were yum and the staff were lovely, even in these difficult times. Will definitely return on our next visit. Thank you all 😊More
The atmosphere is top notch, the serving staff were extremely kind and accommodating. The food was delicious and the portion size was perfect. Would absolutely recommend the New York style vanilla cheesecake :) Will be coming back here
We didn’t have a reservation and waited about 30 mins for a table which wasn’t bad for a busy Saturday night. The food came out quickly and was delicious, they also accommodated for my dietary preference (vegetarian). The waitresses were all so nice and we...received brilliant service. The cocktails went down a treat! They were also up to code with their COVID-19 measures. Would definitely return.More
We just spent 8 days in the West of Ireland, Co Clare and Galway. We made a reservation well in advance of each restaurant where we wished to dine, and were treated very well in all of them except The Cellar Bar. We wanted to...eat here on Thurs 13th Aug. I phoned for a reservation on Mon 10th and was told by a jovial guy that they don't do bookings but that we would be accommodated easily. I asked to reserve a table for two but was told again that it would not be necessary. We turned up at the Cellar bar at 7.30 on Thurs 13th to be told that it was full and that they could not accommodate us until at least after 9pm. The lady at the door told us that they take 50% bookings and 50% walk in's and that was that. Why couldnt we have been told this on our first call and been granted a booking ? I can understand that there are restrictions in place, but I dont see how customers should be treated like this. Inform your staff of what your policy is and don't have them telling different stories to customers. Luckily another premises close by looked after us on the night. We are regular visitors to Galway but wont waste our time with The Cellar Bar again. JBMore
