A piece of Italy in Galway

We went for dinner in February and even though we went quite late, the place was still very alive. The restaurant looks familiar and the service is very friendly, you could feel like if you were actually in Italy. The food was spectacular. We weren´t expecting much, but...WOW. I could say it´s the best Italian I have ever had, worth visiting and coming back for sure. We ordered 'Bruschetta al Pomodoro' as an appetizer and a 'Meat Feast' pizza, accompanied by a glass of 'Mont blanc'. All the food was 100% natural by the looks and by the taste, the pizza was perfectly cooked with a home-made base and the bruschetta had the exact amount of each ingredient to taste amazing. I regret not leaving space for a dessert, but they also looked very good. The price was very adequate, the quality-price is very good. Such a good quality pizza for 12 euros is not expensive at all. The whole dinner was about 30e both of us (I had wine). I must say that the restaurant has everything on point, even the bathroom in which you have everything you may need: deodorant, towels, tissues to take away... As I said the perfect mixture to feel at home, at home in Italy.

Great casual restaurant, authentic

Great casual restaurant, authentic food. Here twice this week. Once with 3 friends, once as a couple. Both experiences very good. Grilled goats cheese salad excellent, friends had mussels starters and were impressed. The Roma spaghetti is excellent served with prawns and mushrooms with light garlic sauce. We will be back.

Great food, fantastic value!

Got takeaway from Venice in Galway with my partner, we got a pizza, pasta in a tomato sauce, chips and the olives (which came with garlic bread). The food tasted fantastic! They made the veggie pizza flavourful which a lot of places don't do. The meal was fantastic value and we had enough left over for the next day. Would 100% recommend for vegetarians.

Dinner at Venice restaurant in Galway

We recently visited this restaurant in Galway and had a very bad experience.I am allergic to seafood so I ordered risotto with chicken. The chicken was smelly so when I reported to the waitress, she went and discussed with the chef. She came back saying that he chicken was bad but not the risotto so therefore they will not refund or replace it ; instead they just reduced the bill by 2 euros. She did not handle the situation sympathetically rather abruptly. i hardly touched the dish which she did not notice or purposely ignored it. It was quite late so I did not order anything else and remained hungry that night.

The food at Venice was just OK. The problem was with the environment and the staff. We were seated near the door and twice during the meal delivery collectors came to the window to collect orders. One of them was quite aggressive and a member of staff went out and remonstrated with him. He continued to strut up and down like a spoilt child. Diners don't need this. I ordered calamari as a starter. it was tough. I told the waiter, He said nothing. My other family members had finished their starters and a waiter lifted their plates leaving me to finish my plate on my own. How rude. I personally felt PXXXed off at this but as we were on holiday I didn't want to create a scene. As the meal progressed the waiters continued to hover over the table making us all feel uncomfortable. Trying to get us to throw the food into us as quick as possible, or so I felt. Not to be recommended.

Authentically Italian

Last week we dined her in Venice, we had a brilliant experience. The food was authentically Italian and was served by very helpful and considerate waiters/waitresses. I’ve tried hard to find an Italian restaurant that ticks all the boxes in terms of authenticity, and I have to say, Venice has hit the spot perfectly. Our food was beautifully presented and the service was speedy, we received both of our meals at the same time. The weather took a little change and things got chilly, so I was thinking that maybe some space heaters might be a cozy touch. Our whole experience was splendid and utterly heart warming. We will definitely be back again! Thanks everyone!

Pleasant and Delicious

We came here for a small dinner during non peak hours. The restaurant itself is very cozy and pleasant to sit in. You have a simple decor and very friendly staff. We have only ordered mains as we weren't overly hungry, however the portions are most definitely worth their price. We waited for about 20 minutes for our food to come but once it did, it was very much delicious. I highly recommend this place for a small family outing or even a date.

Very accomodating

Since we did not make any reservation on that Saturday evening and many other restaurants were also packed we were very fortunate that the owner of the place was very accomodating and was able to seat us. We enjoyed as apertizers Calamari Fritti and then Risotto alla Pescatora & Ravioli con Scampi as main courses. The quality was very good and service was very fast, even though that they were very busy. Grazie

Not premium water or pasta

Mediocre pasta, with sauce that tasted like it was out of a jar. We ordered a bottle of flat water, and they brought water with the top opened, with a label indicating it was a premium Italian water. I noticed the bottle looked like it had been handled a lot, was a little greasy. The water tasted like it was from the tap. We told our waiter, who went to check. He informed us it was filtered water from the tap that they put in used bottles and sell for 2.50 Euros. Apparently the filter was so old it tasted like it was straight from the tap. They should not have passed this off as commercial bottled water. The service was excellent.

Very classy Italian restaurant in Galway

I passed several Italian restaurants in Galway and decided to try this one because the prices were slightly lower than the others. I was pleasantly surprised. It had a pleasant atmosphere with Italian music, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin music playing. The staff were friendly and efficient. The pizza wasn’t bad either.

Terrible customer service, will never come back here again

As galwegians, this restaurant was always one of our favourite places to go but we will never come back here again. We were gifted a voucher for here for the value of €75, which was valid for a year at the time of purchase. Even though restaurants were closed for a significant portion of this year due to covid, the restaurant would not honour any of or even a portion of this voucher. Even if a portion or percentage of the voucher was honoured I think this would have been fair enough. I think considering the voucher was for a significant amount of money I think this is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE customer service and we will NEVER visit this establishment again.

Just The Tip Please

The food was nice but when paying (with card) the man serving us said “cash is better for tips” to which I replied “I know”(I was going to tip in cash anyway). My wallet was in my hand and the man said “you have a €50 note in your wallet, I’ll break it for the tip”. I did leave a tip because the food was nice but thought it was a bit much the lengths he went to to make sure he was getting his tip. He was an older member of staff too and should know better. I probably wouldn’t eat there again because I don’t like people basically sticking their heads in my wallet and telling me how much cash I have.

Lovely dinner and great service

I’m a very picky eater and found myself having a lot of chicken sandwiches with french fries when we visited Ireland last month (great meals, but after 4 or 5 in a row I needed a change…). We found this little Italian restaurant in Galway, just off the main Latin quarter area and close to our hotel. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy and there were already people ahead of us waiting for a table, but we were all seated within a few minutes. They had an outdoor area too which helped. The food was great. We wound up getting a personal pizza, which is larger than what we’re used to in the States and an appetizer to share. The food arrived quickly and the staff were very friendly. This was a nice change and great place I would visit again if we had the chance to.

Rack of lamb

Left this place feeling hungry.Ordered the rack of lamb as our waitress didn't know what fontal cheese was made of!?Was asked was everything OK and said the portion was very small and at €24.50 I'd expect to be fully stuffed,not the case,this wasn't fit for a child and not even an apology when it was brought up.Very poor

You ruined my birthday

I’m really disappointed I had a birthday celebration on Saturday 26th November with my lovely friends. We had a nice dinner and a lot of a lovely drinks. We were enjoying in a moment and everything. So we decided to order a dessert and we did. They took order girl didn’t say anything.And my friend ordered a drink. And in one moment a waiter came to tell as that he needs a table we need to leave. When I was booking a table for my birthday before that date no one told that I have 2 hours for reservations no one. So I was enjoying and in that moment everything was ruined. I was really sad and disappointed. He wanted to charge us for a dessert and a drink which we did not get.To be honest I will never come in your restaurant ever. Because that ruined my 30th birthday. Thank you for that I hope you will do better in the future. And the waiter was really rude he wasn’t nice. Please if you want to make reservation for a lunch-dinner tell them you have 2-2.5 hours not to make any drama or to be rude to u guess. Food was amazing as always but staff do something about that. You won’t see me in the future Good bye 👋🏻
