Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While the staff were attentive and friendly the food was not up to standard. Starters. =Large Chowder €10.50 served in what I would describe as a PASTA dish and hardly covered the bottom of the dish. Also appeared to have been reheated due to skin...on top. Mains =The fish dish on at €25 was bland and all undercooked. Used to visit regularly BUT won't be back or recommend.More

Assume food, staff and atmosphere. We ate there twice for dinner in our 4 day stay in the area. Steak, Cabbage and Bacon, Seafood Chowder, deserts all assume. Great service, great staff. Highly recommend.

Staff was friendly, great location and views! Definitely not a seafood restaurant. A fish restaurant but not seafood. Chowder was good and soda bread best part of the meal. Seafood tagliatelle was far too rich! Fish and chips ok. Fish pie was good. Unlikely to...go back .More

This is a delightful restaurant near the pier in Bearna which has nice views from the second floor dining room. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had hake which was a first for me. It was delicious. The wait staff was...friendly and helpful. The dining room was busy but not noisy. There is parking just outside which made it convenient. It was a great dining experience overall.More

Had a lovely soup to start. Followed by very dry chicken. Potatoes and veggies seemed to have been reheated. Disappointed. Dessert was also bland. No nice flavours! Waiting staff lovely. But a real decline in the taste of the food.

We stopped off here on the way home from Spiddal. We opted for the small fish & chips. Not only was the portion very generous.. couldnt believe it was a small, it was the best we had ever tasted. The service was very good and...the staff very friendly. We will definitely come back.More

We booked our anniversary party with Padraicins and had approximately a hundred guests. The management were exceptional and we're able to provide us with fantastic food options a private bar and even organized our music for the night. The evening was wonderful and all our...guests complemented the great food and the amazing location. The bar staff were very friendly and professional and every request we made was granted with a smile. Overall the wonderful location and the excellent service and food left us with many great memories to enjoy in the years to come. Cannot recommend this place enough.More

Our room for myself, partner and 8 year old son was perfect! It was honestly such a high standard. I’ve stayed in 4 star hotels that haven’t been as lovely. The decor was gorgeous, the food and beverages downstairs were fab too. Right on the...beach. Two very cosy double beds with beach view 🙌🏻 ( road a little noisy but we personally did not mind that)More

This is a great place for lunch and has great service. Would recommend the small plate of fish and chips, chowder and burgers. There is a great range of beers available and you can enjoy a sea view.

Beautiful view of Galway Bay and the Islands. Unmatched by the food. Chowder so disappointing, gloopy with little fish. Avoid this.

Stayed here recently. Firstly the best bit is the beach next door. Beautiful view and just a gorgeous place to be. Unfortunately it’s on a very busy noisy road. You have to go into the bar to check in which I don’t like, I felt...in the way and like they couldn’t be bothered really. The room was ok, beds were comfy (great pillows!) Overlooking the road. This is not great. Very noisy. We also had the noise from all the drunk eejits in the bar. Roaring and shouting last night up til 11 o clock. So remember you are staying in a pub and if you value an early night or have kids then I suggest you go elsewhere. The bathroom was simply awful. Sticky, dirty floor. Cracked tiles, dirt all around the shower door. Tiny shower cubicle. Hot tap about to come off the sink. Smelly towels. Pot-pouri sitting there since 1987. Really poor bathroom, needs a total revamp. Breakfast was meh, very uninspiring scrambled egg. Staff at breakfast were nice especially the young girl who served us. Lovely coffee! Definitely wouldn’t stay again sorry.More
