Myself and my fiancé recently spent 3 nights in Galway and every night we ended up in The King's Head. We even chose to have our last meal in the King's Head Bistro. We stumbled upon this little gem as we couldn't find seating anywhere else, and I'm delighted we did. The entertainment every night was fab! Loved the Irish... More

We stopped here for lunch and I was impressed to see that although they offered the traditional Irish staples, they also had some unique menu items. I had the Atlantic chowder to start and it was amazing, almost more seafood than soup, and large chunks of seafood. For the entree I had the falafel pita sandwich and it was very... More

We stayed in Galway for two nights and stopped in this pub on both nights. It has a lot to offer (esp if you're on the younger side): a bit of history, lots of drinks and great music. We heard two different bands while we were there and saw some great Irish dancing. The pub is big enough that we... More

We wandered in here just looking for a quick meal but ended up relaxing in the bistro for a couple of hours, the atmosphere is great! We were served by 2 girls both of whom were amazing - nothing was too much trouble and they offered some great food recommendations - get the crab claws!

This bistro promises a lot on terms of gastro pub dining but delivers very average food. Seasonal roast vegetables was a bowl of parents booked parsnips with a token carrot thrown in for good measure. No real flavour of having been roasted in any appreciable way. Crab claws were tasty. Kids grilled chicken meal was average again. Nothing inspiring about... More

We loved this place! Their beef and Guinness stew had lots of tender beef in it with a wonderful sauce. The Irish coffees were the best I've ever tasted. Service was great and the prices reasonable.

The food in the bistro is very tasty and there is plenty of choice. However, the prices and the menu on their website differ from the menu in the bistro. The prices are higher and not all the dishes are still being served. Nevertheless, me and my family had a great night out there and enjoyed our steaks!

Met a friend for dinner in the Bistro section and ate 3 courses. Mushroom toast starter, fish and chips and desert. Charged too much for what I got tbh. Starter was too big imo and clumsy, fish was fine (liked the mushy peas) and chips are chips, desert was good. Have eaten in bar area before and preferred atmosphere tbh.... More
