My daughter and I had breakfast in Caprice today and it was excellent. We both had poached eggs on sourdough with roasted tomatoes, crispy bacon and avocado. Perfectly poached eggs, excellent sourdough, flavourful roasted tomatoes, creamy avocado, crisp local bacon all made up a breakfast...of dreams. Staff were attentive and professional. Definitely the place for breakfast in Galway.More

I had lunch here today with my friend and I cannot say enough good about this place. Food is fabulous and the coffee has to be the best in town. To top it all off, the staff are so pleasant and accommodating. I’ve been to...this restaurant on several occasions and it never ceases to amaze me. Well done to all the amazing staff and especially the chefs and cooks.More

Had an over night stay in Galway and happened upon this restaurant ... The view as we passed by enticed us in. Had lunch .. Goats cheese salad with poached pears and beetroot... It was extremely tasty and satisfying. My mother had the smoked salmon...and prawn... She found it delectable. The next day we visited for breakfast. So many options .. And again tasty as the lunch the day before. Have already recommended it to many The staff were top notch .. My compliments to the chef. Beautiful findMore

I booked a table for 10 women 3 weeks before so i gave plenty of notice!! When we arrived there was one large round table & one small square table,I was very unhappy as they did not have us sitting together as it was a...sister & Mum's dinner. It felt like we were just out for dinner with the table we were sitting at! When it was time to pay I went up to one of the safe it was a lady & I explained about paying separately on one table & paying full on the other, she started giving me attitude & I was very friendly towards her. I was pretty taken a back to be honest, normally staff are friendly but this woman was like having attitude thr minute I went up to her!!!!! Food was lovely but I will not be going back due to the overall service!!More

Myself and my husband visited Caprice Cafe yesterday morning around 10.50am, as we have many times before. We were met inside the door by a male member of staff and asked would we be having breakfast ... I replied that we would like coffee and...scones. He said that they were only serving breakfast. We were taken by surprise at this response and obviously embarrassed so we left with no questions asked. On reflection it seems very strange to be turning away customers looking for food!!More

Sorry but coffee and scones do not equate to food in Caprice. We are not a coffee shop and if u are local will see they simply don't exist in galway anymore as it does not make business sense. Thank you for your feedback.

I visited Caprice today with my two young children and parents for a coffee. We headed to Caprice as my mother had passed on Saturday and thought the place looked nice. I was met at the door by a male member of staff who asked...if we were all having food. When i informed him that we were just after some coffees, he said it wouldn't be possible for us to stay unless we were ordering food. Being inside the door it was apparent that the majority of tables were empty, and although I never asked, there were no reserved signs on tbe empty tables. This was at approximately 1pm on a Monday afternoon. I should have questioned further in hindsight, but was embarrassed at that point to be turned away from this cafe. Note, their website states it is 'Caprice Cafe', so very strange to be turning away customers looking for a coffee, no? Needless to say, I won't be back.More

Poached eggs were under done . Well, one was. One was fine. The white was still raw, even though when I complained I was told "thats the way we do our poached eggs - very soft". Nope, I know raw when I see it, and...why wasnt the other one like that if thats the case. Should have taken a picture but it just turned my stomach and I gave plate to the server to take away. No reduction on my bill - just "thats the way we do our eggs". So if you like your poached eggs actually cooked properly - be specifc at order time. For me - no thank you Caprice.More

I’ve always loved caprice for a small brunch with the girls so the minute I knew they did nights and parties it’s where I wanted to go! I contacted Vicky by email and we met up to plan a birthday dinner, she shared my excitement...and was happy to answer any questions I had. It was fabulous! I felt no stress whatsoever, all the organisation was taken care of and the restaurant was decorated beautifully! Vicky and her wonderful staff went above and beyond to ensure a lovely night not only for me but for all my guests. The food was marvellous as Vicky had helped set a special menu including a starter, main, and dessert. The value for the portion was also great! There were so many cool little spots to take pictures, the balcony was a favourite! Everyone left happy, full, and most of all excited to be back at caprice as soon as possible! I cannot thank Vicky and her staff enough as they’ve given me a night I won’t ever forget. Caprice know how to do it! They gave me the Pinterest dinner party of my dreams, I couldn’t have asked for more.More

We happened upon this gem of a cafe while strolling in Galway looking for lunch off the beaten path. What a find! Stylish, intimate surroundings with appetizing menu options. The vegan tacos were delightful accompanied by well chilled sauv blanc sipped in high-end glassware. The...service was attentive and friendly. But what made the experience more special was the extra help after settling the bill with the server. We asked for directions to a shop somewhere in the vicinity and the manager/?owner took us out on the street and literally pointed us in the right direction with further guidance with landmarks. We got to the destination without trouble. Outstanding experience from start to finish! (Check out the colorful high chairs.)More

Myself and my two friends visited Caprice this afternoon for brunch and we were certainly not disappointed! I ordered the tex mex and so did one of my friends and it was fabulous! It was presented beautifully and tasted even better. My other friend got...the club sandwich which was accompanied by Potato and spinach soup and it looked absolutely fantastic. The service was fantastic and Vicky took great care of us, along with her brilliant staff. The playlist also created a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant! We were delighted with the service we received this afternoon and will definitely be visiting again soon ! :)More

We're locals in our early 20s. Sunday, 11am, great menu options with good variety. I had Tex Mex, partner had poached eggs and avo. Both were delicious. Major plus was the extra foamy cappuccinos and freshly squeezed OJ. However, we couldn't enjoy a bite of...it with the music. The playlist was incessant, loud, over-synthed, sped-up versions of classic songs. Even your biggest muscle-builder at the gym would get a headache from it. This is a cafe, not a night club! Before walking into Caprice we wondered aloud why this isn't on our regular list, but we're immediately reminded -- this is their regular music genre and it's just not appropriate. Why they couldn't just pick a generic café-friendly playlist on Spotify is beyond us. Please Caprice, change your music so I can have your scrumptious Tex Mex in peace! Do that and I'll gladly change this review to a 4.5!More

I wanted to bring my Mother here in a recent visit to Galway, it was a lovely day so she wanted to sit outside, I therefore went in and was offered a menu and was told to take any table. All good upto it’s point…....We were chatting away outside and only after what felt a while I commented on the service to my Mum. We waited for a few more minutes and realised we had been waiting 15 minutes for somebody to take our order. I decided to go in and thought maybe you order at the till? But was told nearly straight away that it’s table service. I advised I was outside and returned back out, assuming at this point that somebody would be out within a few mins to take an order. 5 minutes later and still no sign of anybody so we had to leave, disappointed! I decided to take my mother down to Seven Bar where thankfully the service was prompt and food pretty good. Customer experience is pretty important and unfortunately it was very poor. Worst thing was that the food looked great and those eating inside looked to be enjoying it.More
