Stopped here with my parents on a quick trip through Ireland and this was one of the nicest restaurants. We weren't looking for a heavy meal as we had eaten a late lunch, so the selections of goat cheese salad, oysters and mussels were perfect...More

Stumbled on this restaurant for dinner one night in Galway. Unbelievable food and service! Try the salmon cake—it was SO good, we didn’t want it to end. This was the best meal we had in Ireland! Highly recommend!

My husband and I had a meal here on our first night in Galway. It’s located on Quay street which is fantastic and the food was amazing. However, the service was terrible. We had to hunt down our waiter down to get water and then...More

After a long day trip to the Aran Islands we were resigned to more pub food when we spotted Martine's, surrounded by pubs. We loved the warm interior here and the menu, which offered a little more variation than usual. Also, finally a martini offering...More

Description
As a family we have lived and worked on Quay street since 1902 and have a long history of looking after customers with Martine having worked in Margaret Mc Donagh fish shop across the road (McDonagh's Seafood Bar) at a very young age. This tradition was passed on to my brother and I, as we too worked with our mother in her restaurant preparing and serving food. Our family tradition and Galway's Great trading ties with other countries have seeped into the bones of our restaurant and greatly influence everything we do. We believe in local Irish produce prepared simply using traditional and modern techniques from home and around the world.
