We dined at Martine's last weekend. We had been there over a year ago and once again the food did not let us down, in fact it was even better. We made a reservation which was essential as the restaurant was fully packed all night and while we were waiting to be seated lots of people dropped in looking for... More

Meal was off to good start and food was tasty however overall experience very disappointing. Creamed spinach (two portions) served cold- had to be sent back to be heated. I am not exaggerating it was refrigerator cold. Staff did apologize. The room was very tight with tables very close. Our Waiter accidentally sent a whole glass of red wine all... More

Very disappointed! We were referred here by our tour guide and I wish we had skipped it. Two hours later and we got the wrong order, cold food, and very poor service. The waiter was non-attentive and took another 30 minutes to get our check. Seriously disappointed. The only highlight was chatting with one of the servers that brought us... More

Nice ambiance!! The food was very, very good. The fish tasted like it had just come out the ocean. Nice wine selection. Not large but nice.

Popped in here when the restaurant was busy. Was told they could have a table for us in 45 minutes so retired to the Quay Street Bar for another Guinness. Came back and table was ready for us at the window. Food was excellent - starters (salmon fish cake / goats cheese salad) were big and really tasty. Mains of... More

As a family we have lived and worked on Quay street since 1902 and have a long history of looking after customers with Martine having worked in Margaret Mc Donagh fish shop across the road (McDonagh's Seafood Bar) at a very young age. This tradition was passed on to my brother and I, as we too worked with our mother in her restaurant preparing and serving food. Our family tradition and Galway's Great trading ties with other countries have seeped into the bones of our restaurant and greatly influence everything we do. We believe in local Irish produce prepared simply using traditional and modern techniques from home and around the world.
