About
La Dolce Italia is the passion inside of me. After chefing for more than 20 years and born in a pastissery were I started to work when I was 14 to the age of 18 now I have my own place and can express fully the way I see food: genuine, homemade, authentic using fresh ingredients served on a relaxed and friendly atmosfere. We make bread using mother yeast, soda bread, fresh pasta that you can see being made in front of you, soups, cakes with a selection of gluten free and vegan. We source our ingredients from Italy including fresh vegetables and use fresh Irish ingredients like beef, poultry, game meats(which I love to cook) and fish. All can be enjoyed with some lovely wines!!! And we also make great coffee of course!!! Come to meet us we'll receive you with a genuine smile. Ebano Palazzetti chef owner

The moment I entered the restaurant, I knew I was in the right place. As soon as I entered, the smell of the cooked food caught my attention. I entered the restaurant at noon so I turned my attention to the lunch menu instead to the pantry they serve as well. There were several Italian dishes to choose from which where all fresh prepared. I decided on the ravioli filled with cod. The ravioli were served in a white wine sauce with lime. The atmosphere is very relaxed, one forgets the stressful working day and comes to rest. The owners of the restaurant are both very polite and courteous. After I finished my meal, I had a talk with the chef and owner of the restaurant, and I noticed how much enthusiasm and attention to detail he shows in his kitchen and restaurant. The restaurant can be recommended to everyone who wants to go on a culinary journey.

This little café / restaurant in Dun Laoghaire (Dublin) serves up tasty Italian dishes for lunch and dinner (on Fri/Sat). The homemade pasta dishes are sublime, and can be highly recommended. All served up by Ebano (Italian chef) and Kaori. very friendly service. I will be back very soon!

Met my aunt here for a catch up over some good food and it was so good from beginning to end. My aunt is a regular here and I could tell by the way the owner spoke so warmly to her. I could see the freshly made pasta in the fridge and couldn't wait to eat!! We ordered at the counter up front then took our seats outside towards the back of the cafe. We had a lovely bottle of pinot to share, which was lovely and crisp. 2 gorgeous crisp bruschetta with the sweetest tomatoes followed, we shared but I could happily have polished off the lot to myself. I had the pumpkin ravioli for my mains and it was honestly the most delicious ravioli I've ever had, with a great balance of filling to pasta, smothered in a lovely creamy sauce. It took all my self control not to lick the plate. My aunts puttanesca was really tasty too. Dessert consisted of a tiramisu, lemon cake and a bag of cantucci with 2 limoncello. The staff could not have been nicer. I really do recommend this cute little Italian gem. I'll definitely be back. *No pictures because I was too busy eating.

Stumbled across this little place on Saturday while looking for something for lunch, door happened to open and the girl behind the counter sounded so enthusiastic about the food while talking to someone else and the aromas were lovely coming from the store. When we entered the smell was so good you had to try the food especially when in the corner the chef was making fresh pasta. We were brought through to the rear of the premises which was small but spotlessly clean and bright. Great choices on the menu and the girl who served knew about all of it and was even happy to split our lunch choices in two for sharing. We weren't particularly hungry but couldn't not try a couple of dishes while there. We also took some delicious sausage rolls away with us for later. Very good value, excellent service and you will travel a long way to find tastier and fresher food. Definitely will be back for dinner never mind lunch.

We went for a small trip and we're walking around this place. We couldn't see inside seating from the outside so we asked. We did not have booking so they were not too excited from the beginning. But, but....the food was absolutely amazing. Apple dessert was speechless and we had spaghetti with Calamari and scampi...and it was absolutely delicious. The girl who is working here is absolutely great, you can see she built special relationship with other customers as well as there was a child on the next table who draw picture of herself with that girl. She is smiley and incredible nice, and very nice comment goes to another guy who was on the shift. He has tattooes on the arms and he was very nice. I never heard of this place and next time when I'll be coming back to dun laighaire, I will go for food here again. 100% recommend 🙂🙂 Great food and great service, thank you and see you soon 😊

A really genuine taste of Italy. Authentic delicious Italian pasta, desserts, panini and coffee ( they also do panini). My experience based on take away and the food is top class. You can even see the pasta being hand made before your eyes. Love the gnocchi and tortellini. For treat or dessert cannoli, lemon polenta cake, tiramisu are all squisito.

La Dolce Italia is a very special place. The food was sublime and the atmosphere very inviting. You can sense the love and attention that has gone into creating the dishes. We particularly enjoyed the home cured bresaola. There was live music which added to the genial atmosphere and didn’t overwhelm at all. Fantastic friendly service too. We will definitely be back to try midweek lunch. Highly recommend.

Me and my partner have been here a few times and every time the service has been great. Staff so friendly. They’re caring and helpful. Food is delicious for me as a vegetarian and my partner has always loved what he has ordered too. House wine last night was gorgeous and my partner who would know his wines more than me, said he’d argue that the house wine last night was likely the nicest house wine in Dalkey at this moment. Would highly recommend. It’s small but cosy restaurant and very welcoming.

Small, cramped conditions. This restaurant is set in what could be my utility room; one small narrow room with tables on either side. The noise level is unpleasant and whilst you could argue that the food is entirely home-made, it is not desirable. Somewhat slimey homemade pasta with various very ordinary topping and sauce, this is like the King's new clothes, i.e. somebody said it was trendy so everyone flocks there. You cannot hear yourself have a conversation and the only thing in its favour is that you can drink lots of over-priced wine which you'll need by the way to tolerate the setting...

I was tempted not to write this in case too many people found out… As a keen italiaphile (mostly for the food) I have now found a reason not to travel. Ebano (the proprietor) is not only a wonderful host but a talented and passionate chef. Full of stories of exactly how to source and prepare ingredients and dishes. I regularly go in, not just o eat but to talk about eating. Ebano’s ravioli is to to die for. I have had traveled Italy extensively and not had any better than a seaside town in Ireland. Every time I go he has something else to taste. Today it was Bresaola. Cured in-house and utterly fabulous. Don’t expect fine dining, crisp tablecloths and anything fancy. Do expect attentive service, insane deliciousness and a whisp of off piste creativity. There is a menu but that is almost a distraction. It implies that these are the rules. Just ask to be fed. You will not regret it. After a year of ‘coaching’ there are now some great desert wines on the menu. And everything is rated in season. The season at the moment happens to be summer truffles. My only fear is that it gets too popular. If you are just visiting dun laoghaire I pity you. You don’t get to come every week.

Unbelievably good food. The staff are superb, only issue with the place is that it’s not open more often, closed on Sunday and Monday I believe. It’s highly recommend absolutely anything on the menu be it for lunch or dinner

I loved every moment. The food was world class, as was the service. The place is intimate, so you can really feel and appreciate the friendliness of the owner and staff. It feels like being in a good friend's home who is hosting you for your birthday. The veggie pastas were excellent as was the Barbara, house red wine. I will definitely be back and look forward to booking out the restaurant for a gathering of friends. I strongly recommend this place if you want to taste the real Italy. without any heirs and graces

This place has to be experienced to fully understand the warmth of the welcome, the delightful humour, the service, the intimacy of the dining room that feels like your Italian relatives home, and of course the food. The food! Just go and experience the atmosphere and wonderful food but book in advance because its popularity is bigger than the venue.

I'm surprised I hadn't found this restaurant before! It's a small little Italian up a side street in Dun Laoighre. I don't tend eat much at Italian restaurants in Ireland but the food was very authentic with home made pastas and rich sauces, and was absolutely delicious! The dessert special of baked lemon cheesecake was just yummy. We came for lunch when the restaurant was a bit quieter as we had a baby with us. The service is very friendly, we had a buggy and everyone helped to accommodate us. I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner when I can get a babysitter!
