Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Calzone was burnt, pizza was awful looked like a cheap frozen pizza and tasteless. We used to love coming here its such a shame we will not be back! Waiting staff were really nice but sat down and waited 10 mins then had to ask...for menus. Restaurant was nearly empty too.More

Ordered a takeaway with this restaurant. Pizza was inedible, my 12 year old son (who loves pizza) could not eat it. Never again.

A classic gem. When I was growing up this was the place to be! Now 20+ years later it's still excellent. I brought my wife (from a far away land, booterstown) who had never heard of it. She loves it too! Delighted it still the...same, will be back soon tooMore

I have been going to this restaurant for a very long time, have not lived locally for many years but still make a few nostalgic visits to bits and pizzas every year. Went recently and was very disappointed, as the restaurant that I have known...since my late teens is no longer. Menu still the same but food not the same quality. As the saying goes, all good things come to an end.More

I had my doubts when this place reopened under new management, but they were unfounded. They have rejigged the menu a bit which is no harm and the pizzas are as good as ever.

Spaghetti bolognese was served with a hefty layer of parma cheese grated on top. It had congealed and stuck to the fork , my teeth ect. The pasta was over cooked and lacked flavour. It was probably re-heated. The sauce was thin and flavourless, it...was obviously from a packet. The meatballs had not been distributed evenly throughout the dish. You must cook pasta al dente , it must rest before you serve it. It should be tossed with a light garlic oil The sauce should be flavoured with basil and its this that builds the flavour contrast. The meat sauce should be ragu and lightly spiced. Combined its a lovely meal. This restaurant has no idea how to cook and serve Italian food. It seriously needs to improve to survive. 3 from 10 guts and I am being charitable at that.More

I was in DunLaoghaire recently and neded a quick lunch. I found Bits & Pizza in Patrick Street and decided to take a chance. I was very impressed by their vegetarian pizza and a very reasonably priced glass of Montepulciano. I would certainly go back....The service was excellent.More

This place with a bit more central location will shame any restaurant. Went there yesterday with wife and 2 friends and have to say we were struggling to find something to eat, something new, so we decided to give it a try. ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. First,...take as starter chicken wings. We had the barbeque sauce ones, a bit more oregano in sauce then i go for, but was still good. I took photos of the plates a bit too late (when we finished it). The size of the portion beats any restaurant MAINS size. I would say there was easily 15 wings per plate. Never seen wings that purely melts the meat of the bone. Juicy, fresh, just perfect. A little down size that it could do with a little bowl of water, but i managed the fork and knife. Then for mains, we have pizzas. Stone baked, thin, crispy. Another delish. The table behind me had spaghetti meatballs, and i took a photo of those cuz was looking so good. I know where i eat the next time i go back in the area. SIZE NOTE: Thank you Nandos for keeping empty tables and not having us. Would of not find this jemMore

Been visiting BNP since it opened all those years ago...always loved the food and atmosphere..So like many others was devastated when they closed down. When i heard that they'd reopened we were delighted....so we made the trip from Wicklow for lunch one sunny afternoon a...while back....Luckly we didnt gauge our opinions on this visit. Because of the covid situation at the time we were ushered up to the rooftop area...nice when its finished i thought...!! Food was average....but the whole experience was not "Bits and pizzas"...if you know what i mean.... We stopped off for lunch today....whole different story...IT WAS BACK...the place was almost full...cosy, christmassy, ..excellent food... We got pizzas from the lunch menu, came with a generous salad, garlic bread and tea or coffee...10euro each....absolute bargain, especially as the pizzas are the best IMO..... Looking forward to getting back there soon... And well done to Charlie for giving us back proper pizza....More

I visited with my husband and we ordered one starter (baked mushrooms) and two mains (carbonara and meatballs). The starter arrived after the mains and seemed like it was forgotten as it was lukewarm. The carbonara was made with very lean rashers as opposed to...the traditional fatty guanciale. Come on people, Tesco a short walk away even sells pancetta! The meatballs were beef when I would have expected a beef/pork mixture. To be fair the menu did not specify the type of meat. Nobody came to us to offer grated cheese or black pepper (the “carbonara” could have done with it). Key question, will I give it another try? Perhaps but please raise the standards.More

Have been going to this great restaurant for sometime In fact it is the same age as my oldest son. We were disappointed when it closed so was delighted to see it reopened with the addition of the rooftop terrace. I ate there today with...a friend and had a most relaxed meal served by very friendly and efficient waiting staff. So nice to return to a familiar place and find it as good if not even better than before Well done allMore

Food and cocktails nice, staff friendly. Noticed one lady making the pizzas roaring the head off a young member of staff. No need for it. Set a bad vibe for the evening before dinner.
