Had a gorgeous evening with 3 friends last Wednesday evening. Started with Prawn Cocktail - best Dublin Bay Prawns ever - the real thing. Scampi & Fish & Chips were delicious. Very friendly service from everyone. Wine was first class. The bill was very well priced at €50 a head which included, 3 Starters, 3 Main Courses, Dessert & two bottles of wine.

We’ve been looking forward to trying this restaurant. Already a fan of its sister restaurant, DeVille’s in Dalkey, we had high expectations. We were a party of 7 and we were delighted with every facet of our evening. Katerina took great care of us. We all enjoyed starters including their French Onion Soup, and Tuna Tartare. We enjoyed steaks, lamb, and seafood for our mains, all prepared and presented beautifully. We tried a few desserts and a very generous cheese plate. The wine list was diverse and prices reasonable. A memorable night indeed. We’ll be back for sure.

Excellent dinner in face of uncertainty. We went the night that the restaurant was closing in face of coronavirus. Nonetheless the service was excellent and chirpy waitress particularly and naturally pleasant. A late lunch meant we went straight to mains and both of us delighted with freshly cooked and crispy scampi and fries and salad. The Sauvignon Blanc was lovely and our water glasses constantly refreshed. Creme brulee looked lovely and my Cafe Gourmande excellent. I do like strong coffee so if you prefer a weak coffee best say so. €80 covered all. We will be back when they reopen and the world returns to some sort of normal !

Table of 4 for a pre-concert meal on the run up to Christmas. We were early, c17.00 and the restaurant was quiet but I was impressed with the decor and the overall ambience. As a sister restaurant of De Villes in Dalkey, I/we had high expectations. While we didn't "push the boat out" in sticking (nearly) to the 2-course menu we did experience enough of the menu to declare this a great addition to the Dun Laoghaire food scene. The one 'special' that stood out from the options on the set menu was the Mussels. It was of excellent quality and a very large portion, nearly a main course in itself. Service was excellent throughout and the wine a red Gouguenheim, was very acceptable. A lot of similarities to De Villes, menu content and layout, wine list and indeed pricing, all very similar. Not a bad thing, but a high standard to live up to! Probably still has a little work to do, to match its (smaller in size) sister, but based on our visit it has started very well.

Last Thursday night after attending a play upstairs in the Pavilion Theatre my wife and I went to Casper & Guibini's for a meal and were delighted to get a very enjoyable one after arriving at nine fifteen. I had an excellent duck confit, red cabbage and Juliet potatoes, and my wife had the fish and chips. Both were enjoyed with a glass of excellent Cabernet Sauvignon. The service, decor and ambiance were all excellent.

Went here with two friends for a nice catch up with the hope of a wonderful night out. What we received was far from what we anticipated! On arrival the woman that brought us to our table was not wearing a mask or visor, which made us feel uncomfortable. We were seated out side due to COVID-19, which we didn’t mind but we noticed every table bar ours was offered hot water bottles as it was freezing. As we were most likely the youngest three there it was as if we did not qualify for one. We were originally charged for a drink we did not receive which was corrected after we pointed it out. The wait for our food was rather long especially when it was so cold. We will not be returning after this experience.

Called in with my wife for lunch. I settled for the French Onion soup while my wife had the Fish tacos. My soup was delicious and filling and I almost regretted that it wasn't a cold and stormy December day when it will really come into its own. The fish tacos were light and tasty. The restaurant was very busy (not surprising) and the staff were constantly on the move. Service was nevertheless excellent and it was very noticeable how staff members were empowered and backed each other up. Good food, great staff, lovely surroundings and an impressive wine and cocktail list. Oh and very Covid aware and compliant. Loved the individual coat hangers at the tables.

This place is always a winner. For brunch / family lunch / kids or couples you just cannot go wrong. We’ve been many times and always have a super time. Staff are so lovely and helpful. Cocktails cannot be beaten!

Casper & Guimbini's has been my go to place for dining this summer. Upscale and elegant restaurant and with a relaxed & fun vibe! My preference is still to do dine outside and this is very well catered for with heaters, blankets, the aroma of lavender plants and watching the sun set over the ocean - what more could you ask for?! For those who dine indoors, I noticed how well ventilated the place is. Top marks for this. The menu is short but the food is incredible. My favourite is the lamb. With the large crowds they draw, its a very popular place, I am always amazed at the consistently high quality of the food. The service too is impeccable. And to those who wait outside sitting on a bench for a table to come free, I noticed how diligent the staff were in brining them drinks. When I made a booking for one of the occasions, I made it through one of the owners, David, who is very charming - (btw I'm the person who made an in person booking using my 2nd name as my 1st name was too complicated:) - kudos for bringing this great restaurant to Dun Laoire.

This place is great. The staff are delightful and the food total perfection. Though we ate there on a Monday night there was a really weekendy buzz helped hugely by the superb lighting and tasteful decor. Though no stranger to a good old moan I couldn't fault this restaurant. If you want flavoursome food and a good night out I can highly recommend that you give it a try

C&G is an amazing spot, exactly what Dun Laoghaire needs. We went to celebrate my best friends birthday, started with some unbelievable cocktails and had tasty bites, the calamari, dressed crab and chicken wings are DELISH. The restaurant has something for everyone, a more casual outdoor area perfect for a coffee and pastry, and a stylish, art deco interior for more special meals. We were sitting outside, and the service was so top notch (shout out to Shane our waiter) we just kept ordering more! Shane picked up it was my friends birthday and surprised us with a Happy Birthday dessert, such a nice touch. Will definitely be back!

My family decided to treat me for my 80th birthday so I left it to my younger son. He found a really terrific place. Casper & Giumbinis is ideal for many types of meal whether it's a family 'do' like mine or for a cosy couple's night-out you won't be disappointed. The food is top class, the service was brilliant and the ambiance in a rather small venue is great. Five star recommendation!

Reservations are a must, virus safety is taken seriously and then you get to enjoy some of Ireland's top food. For those of us not accustomed to eating here regularly, the whole experience is truly magical. Shiny lights, good music and staff that flutter around for your water and your orders. Our evening was simply very good food prepared with respect, wine choices that were well priced and a desert shared three ways that was sinful. To end the meal, la facture, which turned out to be "dare I say it ? " a good value ! Cheers to the whole team and thanks for surviving through these hard times for the food industry!

Called here last week and had a good evening out . Had prawns and mussels which were quiet good . For mains we had 12 oz Ribeye. Plaice and a burger . All the food was good if somewhat overpriced . Our booking was for 7.30 but we were not seated until 8 even though there were 2 tables free even when we were seated . 6 euro for a small bottle of Bulmers is a ridiculous price to pay . Hot water bottles are a great idea when sitting outside .

10oz steak was beautifully cooked but for 28euro, all we got was chips and some rocket on the side.. No Vegetables or the decency to throw some Onions on top... The chicken wings were small, hardly any chicken and oddly shaped meaning there was more bone than chicken!! The 6 o clock meal cost us 100euro which we have no issue paying for a satisfying meal but I walked away feeling we were ripped off and slightly hungry despite having starters and main course. We settled for a Teddy's ice cream for desert. I dont have the most cultured taste buds. We hardly eat in fancy restaurants so maybe this is normal but we opted for this restaurant for my partners bday.. if you're like me and prefer hearty cheap eats, its probably not the place for you because I was unhappy leaving! I would have been happier eating a Burger King. The food did not justify the price!
