Ate here with a client on a nice balmy Thursday evening, the restaurant was busy but not overly so and there was a great mix of people eating and there was a really nice vibe. Brought straight to the table and our waitress was outstanding....I love Italian food and Toscana did not disappoint, the Antipasto Alla Italiano was great and my main course the Risotto Al Frutti Di Mara was light, fluffy and has a more than ample amount if fish in it. My client had the Nasello Di Parmigiano, a herb crusted hake fillet and really enjoyed it. The house red a Monetepulciano D’Abrozzo- Castellani was perfect and the overall meal left me in that special place that is full, happy but not stuffed, If you are in Dún Laoghaire and looking for a great evening meal than I’d highly recommend trying Toscana.More

Myself and 5 friends had the most amazing meal last night, the food was gorgeous and there was such a huge choice on the menu. The restaurant decor is so fab and we were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived. All...the staff were so friendly and helpful especially our waitress (sorry didn't get her name), she gave us grt advice on our food choices especially when it came to banoffee!! Would definitely recommend and we look forward to dining here again.More

Went for an evening meal with the family and my folks. Overall food was just ok, nobody said it was really nice but all cleared their plates. I had the gorgonzola gnocchi to start but unfortunately there was no taste of gorgonzola. I then had...the seafood risotto, nice flavour and a good bite to the rice. But there was about a dozen pieces of broken mussel shell in the dish that kept cracking on my teeth. When I pointed it out to the staff member she casually said, really!? as if I was making it up. All the bits were on the side plate for her to see! 2 out of 4 clams were not open, they should have been left off or swapped out due to how few of them there was in the dish. Portion sizes seemed a bit small all round. Arrabbiata was had also, but no real chilli spice to be had from the dish more like a gentle black pepper heat. Pizza base was a bit doughy, could either do with being thinner base or cooked a bit more. The Sea bass and the Rigatoni with mushroom was also had, just ok again. All in all plates were finished but I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back soon.More

En route to the theatre locally we came to Toscana for an early dinner. It wasn’t our first choice and, it has to be said, we would have been better elsewhere. Seated outdoors in a surprisingly comfortable outdoor terrace which, no fault of the restaurant,...became increasingly cold despite the valiant efforts of space heaters. Service was friendly and attentive. That’s the good news. The calamari starter was very forgettable and a surprisingly ungenerous portion. My Toscana pizza could easily have come from a supermarket fridge. Generic and bland. No discernible texture or taste. My companions venison ragu may have had a passing acquaintance with Bambi but it would be hard to prove or find among the gloop. The French fries were pretty good though. No, just no.More

Overall disappointing experience and expensive place for what you get. The atmosphere is nice inside and on the terrace and the staff is lovely but the food is very average, not what you would expect of a nice Italian restaurant. I especially don't recommend the...pasta, clearly not fresh and quite overcooked, the sauce was very watery / not creamy at all (it is almost like a broth...). For 20 euros main dish, there are many better options in town. The risotto was quite nice on the other side. The starter grilled calamaris was small and nothing exceptional. Maybe this restaurant is still enjoying the good reputation of its past but can no longer live up to the standards? :/More

The food is passable, but nothing special. The prices are way too high given the food quality and quantity. The service was nov good: we kept on getting other tables’ orders, and one of us got their food so late all the other had already...started or finished. Avoid.More
