A warm place to enjoy crepes and wafles with an amazing chocolate in Dun Laoghaire. There is a wide choice of toppings (fruits, candies, cream...).

I went here with my family. In particular I was impressed by the classy and beautifully laid-out interior. There is a real continental vibe in this creperie. Even more than the cool surroundings, though, was the top quality crepe and most incredible creamy chocolate. My kids had the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and still rave about it today. This is a 'must-visit' when in Dun Laoghaire. Paul

My daughter and I stopped in as the menu caught our eye. She ordered a waffle and I had a savory crepe. Both were excellent! But what I enjoyed most was sitting out at a little table on the sidewalk, people watching and enjoying the delicious cappuccino. Yum! Will definitely be back. We decided next time we would try the ice cream.

This little cafe had us smiling, laughing and licking our lips. The women working here were so funny and engaging - whether it was riling each other up or chatting with customers. We ordered 2 hot chocolate “grand cru” - one of each flavor - and an Aurèle waffle (dark chocolate, ice cream, cookies and dulce de leche sauce). I can’t describe how good everything tasted! We were eying up some shots of pure melted chocolate and the Félix Basile ice cream, but we just didn’t have room left! A lovely little spot with lovely ladies and delicious food to make you go “mmm”.

Both the savoury (ham egg and cheese) and sweet crepes were lovely, and the coffee was good too. The staff spoke french and at least 2 different customers who came in spoke french, the owner is from Brittany apparently so they know what an authentic french crepe is all about!

This is one of my treats for myself - a chilli hot chocolate on a cold day - soothes your throat, thrills your taste buds. Lots of desserts and pastry delights but, the hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. Coffees good too. But the hot chocolate - they've raised it to an art form. Plus the staff are delightful.

Love the place: super cosy, excellent design and fabulous treats for adults and kids. Best hot chocolate ever to enjoy either at the cafe or walking alongside the pier.

We've been to Le Chocolat de Frèd about 7 times. on good and not so good weather. We've enjoyed different waffles and also crêpes, we also had some very good coffee there (my husband is real a coffee amateur) and hot chocolates ! The hazelnut, the peanut butter, the almond and the "genuine" ones, all are just great, rich and perfect ! The chocolate quality is amazingly fantastic whether it is in hot "dairy" milk or almond milk, it is sumptuous, tasty, just delicious ! Oh ! and our son has had ice creams also, the Belle Epoque, he just loves the melting ganache on the ice cream... We'll go back, encore et encore !

Cute cafe that serves up all things chocolate! I got the most delicious authentic hot chocolate to warm me up on a snowy day. The menu features lots of chocolate including crepes and ice cream.

Always happy to see a new business open in dun Laoghaire and it's even better when they do the most delicious hot chocolate. Le Chocolate de Fred is a petit cafe that offers wonderful hot chocolate and crepes to enjoy on the side. Whatever flavoured hot chocolate you desire is more than likely served here. The only slight downfall to this cafe is that some may find the prices a little expensive. If you want a real hot chocolate with great depth and taste then the money is well worth it!
