The staff at Union 8 are really attentive, nice and welcoming, but the food lacks a fair bit of flavour. A chicken brioche burger with slaw and chips sounded much better on the menu than in real life. The chips were frozen and undercooked, and...More

We had a fantastic meal here on Sunday night. I thought the atmosphere was really lovely and the staff were great - really friendly, fun and helpful. I also thought the early bird was great value at €23.50 for two courses. My partner had the...More

We had a lovely brunch with friends Saturday just gone. It was very busy when we walked in so had to wait 10mins to get a table which was no problem. Once sat down, service was excellent orders taken very quickly and food came out...More

I was in Union 8 last night, 6th Oct, with a large group of work friends. The food was amazing. For starter I had pickled pears with gorgonzola, beetroot and lentils. A taste sensation! I then had Halibut with pureed fennel, smoked(!) Broccoli, mash and...More

This is a tiny little establishment quite close to the Kilmainham Jail. The host/owner is a very pleasant man and there is a wonderful array of apps, mains and desserts from which to choose, along with specials. The bar selections are also varied and the...More

Recently came to Union 8 for Saturday brunch. The food was very fresh, top quality ingredients. I wouldn’t qualify the dishes as exceptional but we still both had a very enjoyable meal. Laidback atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Dined at this restaurant for dinner and it was pleasant indeed. Good choice , attention to detail and staff very professional- that said their Sunday breakfast choice is disappointing overall. Over the top in terms of price and it's more like Brunch than breakfast. No...More

Dear Dromod, Thankyou for your positive review overall , however a several points you highlight clearly need clarification. 1/ As you point out what we serve on Sunday mornings "is more like Brunch than Breakfast". We do in actual fact actually advertise and serve brunch...More

As visitors in Dublin, we wanted to find a place to eat that has great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. We found it! It's a fine place, yet not stuffy or overly fancy. It's a terrific place for couples or a small group of...More

This was a little pricey for what we got. This is really more of a wine bar with slightly upscale prices, not a local/corner pub. Unique setting, pleasant staff, good wine. We only had an appetizer plate so no comments on the main courses. A...More

Dear Lisa, We'll gladly accept the positive comments you have made in your review but I think you've got a little confused in terms of the type of establishment you were in. We are not a local pub or bar and in no way try...More

Union8 is a new contemporary neighbourhood Eatery situated in the heart of the vibrant residential, cultural & business district of Dublin 8. Close to Kilmainham Gaol, IMMA, St. James's Hospital and Hilton Hotel Kilmainham. The name reflects our goal - to become the hub and focal point of our community & for those from further afield! We also chose it because of our location (union of roads) and our belief as to what a truly local restaurant should be (union of people). We are interested in achieving prominence based on consistency & quality rather than publicity. The seasonal dishes are modern & well-balanced, with just a few ingredients. The wine list is adventurous and keenly priced, and the service is professional while appearing casual and friendly. All of which can be enjoyed in a stylish contemporary space. We are open 7 days every week. Our food offering encompasses the entire day and evening. From morning coffee, daily lunch / food menu to casual eatery by night. Not to mention Sunday brunch! - served from 10.30am to 3.30pm. -SELECTION OF WINES, BEERS & SPIRITS NOW AVAILABLE-
