I've been to The Winding Stair many times and have never been disappointed. It gets busy and so may not be the place for a quiet night out, but it has atmosphere in a bustly, bistro kind of way, the food is great and reasonably...More

Very disappointed with the waiter today at lunch time. Definitely not happy in his job . Snapped at me when I asked him something . Sad as my previous visit 2 years ago was delightful. This place has lower standards now. Maybe under different management.

I had the sole special for my main course. It was delicious. Garnished with the cutest tiny shrimp in a delicate butter sauce. We started our meal with an Irish chucartarie (sp). meat board. Yum. Our waiter recommended a tasty bottle of wine and we...More

Love the restaurant, I travel to Dublin monthly and the Winding Stair is always a highlight I book in advance and look forward to. Innovative cooking, kind staff, reasonable wine list prices and good local brews. Visited on 11.10. and was tested to some sea...More

I was here yesterday evening for dinner with a friend and I found it just ok. We both had the celeriac soup to start and it needed way more seasoning. It tasted of nothing really. I had the beef cheek and it was lovely and...More

We decided to eat here after reading good reviews on Trip but I would not return. The restaurant is very crowded and the air is heavy with the kitchen open to the dining room and all the tables really close together. The service staff was...More

Nice views to the river. Large wine selection. A bit noisy but this is almost in any irish restaurant. Nice atmosphere and quick service. Pricing on the high side

We ate here in the evening after having reserved well in advance as it is recommended by many. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is bistro style and a little noisy but that is nice as it adds to the atmosphere. We had one of...More

I recommend booking. We ate there on a Sunday night and not a single table was open. If at all possible, ask for a table by the window.
