Very good. Quality food, well presented, fairly priced. Attentive and pleasant service. Have paid similar money for a much worse experience, so while not cheap, you don't feel ripped off.

Easy online reservation, call back for confirmation. Tiny, small location, nice atmosphere. Small menu. Excellent food and wine! Friendly, perfect service.
Richmond is not inviting from the outside. It is a rather small and unadorned storefront in a not very appealing neighborhood. But inside the experience is very upscale. The restaurant is very small: perhaps a dozen tables on the main floor. There might have been...more up the steep, narrow staircase, but I'm not sure. We were lucky to score a table without a reservation, but I certainly wouldn't recommend that to others. The food is the central attraction here. The menu is very limited: three permanent entrees and one special a night. I had halibut that was special that night and it was quite excellent. My sons had steak that they greatly enjoyed. I can't imagine ordering something that wasn't a real treat. The service was very good, as well. Prices are a bit high, but the value is certainly there.More
Nice atmosphere, not pretentious. Fast service initially and then a long wait for bill, new cutlery between courses. Good brown bread with Guiness butter (just tasted like plain butter). Two or three course early menu. Good appetizers - delicious tomato salad and seafood sausage. Very...good main - ox cheek, with mushrooms and Swiss chard. Almond cake with peaches was also good.More
Really fabulous food. I got the steak and the jus was the best I have ever had. Still thinking about it! Perfect fat chips to mop up every trace. Lovely wine - I think it was chardonnay although I did not choose it. Great coffee....Great service. Nice decor. It is pricey but you will feel like you had a great experience. If I was to find one criticism I did not think the brown bread muffins were a success although I was in the minority there.More
Outstanding, we’ve travelled around Ireland for the past two weeks and this was our stand out meal. Excellent value for money and the service was impeccable. The food was next level excellent. Flavours and presentation exceeded reviews - this is saying something! This restaurant is...a not to be missed experience.More
My wife and I recently dined at the Richmond Restaurant. We selected from the specials menu. We had a starter each, 1 chicken starter and 1 fish starter. For main course we shared the Chateaubriand which was absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection. For dessert...we shared the cheese board. The wine menu was very good and we selected a red French Malbec. For a Michelin recommended restaurant we found it to be quite reasonably priced. Service was excellent and the staff very welcoming and friendly.More
Food was excellent, beautiful cooking and excellent portions. Great value too. Service was very good. Thanks for lovely meal
This is a quality Bistro with great food, obviously a well run kitchen using great ingredients and flair. The food is a lot better than most restaurants in Dublin and price for quality is great.
Great dinner here. Small restaurant with wonderful food & service. Would recommend. My husband had the lobster and I had the pork dish. Both were very good. Save room for the date pudding! Wish I could get the recipe from the restaurant.
I’ve been meaning to review this fabulous restaurant for ages and whilst in TripAdvisor I’ve finally taken the time to do it. Although I’m based in London I stay in Dublin about once every six weeks and luckily that’s just around the corner from The...Richmond. I’ve been six or seven times over the last few years and hands down it’s my favourite restaurant - not just in Dublin but full stop. It’s not even about the price but the fact that they can offer a 3 course early bird menu until 6.30 for (at the time of writing) €39 represents superb value Being just around the corner means we can check it out at short notice to see if we’re lucky enough to grab a spare table. The menu changes with reasonable frequency (just eyeing up the latest one not yet tried!) but so far has never disappointed with its brilliant combinations of tastes and textures. The presentation is always a delight for the eyes and executed with such delicacy and precision. I know I’m in danger of sounding a bit over the top but when I find something worth raving about I can’t help myself. More and more I find myself in other places (often with higher price points) saying “but at the Richmond….” hence the gold standard of the title. They’ve deservedly received the Bib Gourmand award from the Michelin Guide - like writing this review, I’ve been meaning to check out exactly what that is, and thanks to Google I now know Michelin rate “our best value for money restaurants – offering a three course meal at a reasonable price – have been pointed out using a special award”. My only hesitation in writing this is that it might reduce the chance of us getting a table when we go for the Early Bird next time. Fingers crossed that spontaneity is our friend! Having said that, I think it’s time to give the monthly Tuesday tasting menu a shot. My mouth is already watering. :)More
I had high expectations when I made my reservation but everything was even better than expected. The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. Had the three course set menu and all three dishes were really good. The salmon and the cauliflower were...really something special. The arancini with ox cheek, which I took as a middle dish, was also fantastic I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.More
We had a fantastic time at the Richmond. The place is vey cosy with a calm and relaxing atmosphere, very nicely lighted. The staff are amazing and very tentative and the food is to die for, very well presented and delicious. Congratulations to the Chef....Thank you, we will be visiting you soon again.More
Thank you Jason for taking the time to write. We are elighted you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to taking care of you again soon. Russell @ Richmond
The meal was good but not great I found the starter choices not to my taste so went for the snacks instead. I hade hake for main course and felt it was overdone, accompaniments were good. Deserts were good but not exceptional. Drinks and wine...were good and reasonably priced.More
Outstanding. Great quality food, cooked expertly with great staff who serve you with a smile and actually care about your experience. I have already booked my return. Thank you.
Hello Rory, Thank you for your lovely review, and yes, we really do care. It’s always a pleasure to serve happy customers and your return custom is very much appreciated. Russell @ Richmond
