At Govindas the vegetarian food is plentiful and tasty (a small plate left me stuffed and happy). Atmosphere is a little run down/dingy, but this is more than compensated for by friendly, welcoming staff. Don't be put off if downstairs looks busy, there are tables upstairs too.

We were in Dublin for a weekend and found this great place through an online search. The lady serving was so lovely and the food was fantastic. We went back again the second day as it was so good and it was another different buffet menu, which was equally as good as the first days. It's not a fancy place,... More

I eat here regularly, the food (all vegetarian) is always tasty, the portions are large and satisfying, the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a 'no frills' restaurant, don't expect opulence or luxury. The seating, utensils and decor are functional rather than luxurious, but this minimalism lends the place a distinctive charm which I really like. It can get... More

Everytime I eat at Govindas I leave fully satisfied both by the food, ambience and friendly staff. Most of all though the value is extraordinary! If you were to eat this well in other restaurants it would be at least double the price. There are 2 outlets in Dublin but the Aungier Street one is best!

Govinda's could be considered to be an austere canteen. They offer small, medium and large plates increasing in price at £5, £7, £9 ish. You can chose from hot dishes and salads and your plate will be piled high with healthy indian fusion vegetarian food. We were there early and noticed a constant stream of lunchtime city workers coming in,... More

Came here on a Friday night and definitely got our moneys worth. As we had a taste card it was only 5 euros each for a huge plate of food. There are a range of dish of the day options and normally I think they serve them as just a bit of each dish though you can customise this as... More

One of my favourite lunch spots in Dublin. Order a small plate or a large plate. The food is fresh, tasty and consistent. Sitting in Govinda in Abbey Street is like stepping into an Ashram for an hour, especially if you sit near the back. It's one of my favourite places for a time out. For my friends who don't... More

This is a vegetarian (and mostly vegan) Indian restaurant. You pay for a specifically-sized plate (6, 9, 15 euros), then ask for what you want on the plate. The food was delicious and the portion size was hearty. I would definitely go back!

What a great place. Superb curries. We both went for a bit of everything on a small plate for a few euros. Great flavours, and different vegetables plus a lasange. Some nice soft drinks too. If we'd been in the city longer, we'd have returned (and will next visit). I might even see if I can handle a bigger plate... More
