Haven't been in years and we as a family decided to call down for lunch. Got seated with no issues as the place was pretty much deserted. Got some drinks and menus but then ended up waiting 20 mins for a waiter to call down...to take our order. Starters were out a bit too quick we thought which made us all think it was just a reheat. Starter was nice but I was really disappointed with the garlic bread. 7.50 for three stingy slices with cheese and a bit of salad. Mains were nice but again fairly overpriced. Fish was largely just batter and greasy, carbonara had very little meat and mushrooms but too much pasta and half it went back. Kids meals were OK but the sausages seemed to be heated up. Won't be rushing back unfortunatelyMore

Great restaurant, however the turkey and ham were barely warm, it wasn't busy so no excuse really, also the stuffing must have changed, as it isn't half as nice as it used to be, taste basic now, but the staff and waiter were very accommodating....Also disappointed to see one of the chicken starters gone as it was the nicest starter.More

We had booked the private room for our celebration. Nearly 30 guests half of which were children. Very good, prompt service and lovely food. No one had any complaints regarding the food. Our waiter, whose name I regretfully forgot to ascertain, was excellent. How he...kept track of who ordered which meal and which menu was used was a skill honed to perfection. The portions of food were large enough to satisfy everyone and the wine was reasonably priced. I would definitely visit again and have already recommended Joel's to several friendsMore

This Easter Monday we stopped in at Joels to have an early dinner. I think it was 2:30pm when we arrived. We were shown straight to our table and within seconds our drink order was taken. We ordered garlic mushrooms for a starter and when...that arrived our daughter's meal did too (this was requested by us). Our main course took a little time to arrive but when it did there were no complaints. The toilets at this restaurant were very clean the only gripe I'd have is the carpet. Due to heavy foot traffic, I think it needs replacing or a good scrub. Overall a great meal, our server was attentive and all staff we encountered were very friendly. They even engaged with our daughter by asking about the easter bunny.More

We booked an area for 25 people, when we got there the area hadn’t been reserved for us. We were seated in the middle of the floor with 3 small kids in our group. The service was really bad, orders were being taken and then...brought to the wrong people, it seemed chaotic at times. Some of the food orders didn’t come out. 3 of the dishes were sent back as 1 was ordered for a child it was full of Chili’s, salmon was dry and over cooked and prawns on another were raw. The bill was close to €1000, a big waste of money in my opinion. The staff were nice and friendly.More

Had a classic burger today in Joel's. 16.50 euro for burger with a slice of lettuce and sauce. Wow! Joels that's not great value now is it?

You cannot reserve a table Graeme but there is a bar with plenty of seating where you can sit and relax until your table is ready
