Catching up with a literary friend, found us at the 'French Paradox', perched at our high table with a bottle of Languedoc, plate of nibbles being attended to by friendly and helpful staff. With the lovely wood decor, beautiful bottles of vino abound an enjoyable...and elegant evening was had.More
We attended on Friday 13th December. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and welcomed into this wonderful restaurant. The team are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. A relaxed atmosphere with great food and fantastic wine. It was great when we lived in dublin...9 years ago and it is still fantastic now. Our friends had a great time. Definitely a place to go. Thank you for a wonderful evening.More
Exquisite French food and wine. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and give great wine choice advice to accompany your food choice. Would highly recommend and will we will be coming back here again!
We had a great time in this restaurant/wine shop in the hearth of Ballsbridge.
The food is tasty and well presented (we had foie gras, fondue, duck confit), the wine selection is vast, giving the fact that that is also a wine shop, and the...service is truly warm and attentive.
I refer particularly to the waiter/restaurant manager who served us, an authentic french gentleman.
Do not expect a snobbish and "overdressed" restaurant, but rather a charming little spot where you feel you're in the loveliest Parisian spot for the night.More
we went to celebrate me finishing some awful exams and i introduced him to this local spot - we live a mere street or two away :) I LOVE IT ! and now so does he. the staff are SO well versed in their product...and literally excited to talk about it. we had a plate of pate and salad to marry with the wine, which was recommended by our host and it was delicious. it might have been raining outside but it was south of france inside. highly recommendMore
We have visited this restaurant several times and its very consistent with the friendliness of the staff, quality of wine choice and great whether you want french tapas style dishes or something more substantial.
Had dinner at the French Paradox Wine Bar based on a recommendation from an Irish friend. And it turned out to be just right. Small and stylish bar/restaurant with a very authentic French atmosphere in a nice residential part of the city. Excellent wine list...and a very nice menu, incl. some tapas sharing plates - French and Basque style. Of course not a particularly Irish experience but they did have lovely Irish salmon too. Very friendly and competent service - both in English and French (some of the waiters were French). On the expensive side but not excessively so. A very nice place for a drink or dinner - but limited spaces so book ahead.More
You may be in Dublin but if you are looking for a taste of French food look no further than the French paradox. Don't leave without having the smoked duck salad. The staff are there long term which is always a good sign.
