Visited this restaurant today for lunch, sat down at 1410hrs and ordered two burgers WellDone, 40 mins later we had to ask where was our food? Our waitress was ignoring us so spoke to a member of staff in a navy blue top. She did...not apologize, our food arrived eventually, when I cut into the burger it was raw in the Centre so I called over same navy top and asked for the burgers to be cooked as we had ordered. Again no apology, our food was returned to the kitchen and after another 15 minute wait we stood up and left. Another couple who sat down at the same time as us,got their lunch, paid their bill & left,we were still waiting all this time. We fail to understand this appalling customer service when restaurants are crying out for business. Would never return or recommend this placeMore

Chez Max is a wonderful surprise located right outside the main gate of Dublin Castle on Dame Street. You are in for a treat when you experience its relaxed but distinctive French ambience and delicious yet simple menu that somehow manages to offer great choices.

Lovely little bistro with excellent food and friendly efficient service. Highly recommended. We first went here when another restaurant (La Maison) failed to even respond to a single reservation request of 6 left and frankly they did us a favour! Talk about a chalk and...cheese experienceMore

Outdoor dining here was fantastic. There is a great buzz in the area. The food is delicious and the menu extensive. The wine list has something for everyone. Very pretty little spot in old historic Dublin.

Thanks to all in Chez Max for a perfect evening! Lovely, warm reception and escort to our table. Friendly, informed and helpful table service. Excellent wine selections. Compliments to the chef on the soup, crab creme brûlée, venison, mussels and all deserts! Quirky and youthful...ambience. Looking forward to a return visit soon!More

We had a fabulous meal in the outdoor dining area on our honeymoon staycation(due to covid restrictions). The heating was great and it was a dry night and the lovely setting in front of Dublin Castle made it feel like you were away on holiday...dining outside in Paris somewhere! The food and wine were delicious! The service was fab. We hope to dine here again in the near future!More

A lovely little spot in Dublin and great that they have an outdoor area. Service was not great tho not very friendly. We ordered 2 soups and only 1 arrived and 10 mins later the other one was brought out with no apology or explanation.

I was there with my girlfriend at Sunday afternoon. Very nice place with delicious mussels. Toilets are very clean. We saw better service in another places but if you like French food this is place to visit.

We have walked past this place at least 100 times and always said we would try. So we finally bit the bullet and went in for lunch.I’m raging we haven’t been soon. Friendly staff lovely French bistro atmosphere and the food was Devine. I will...definitely be back for both lunch and dinner. I would recommend the croque monsieur. It was even nicer than the one I had in France a last summer. Will definitely be back.More
