We went here twice on our weekend trip to Dublin, for lunch and for dinner. Our first time was for lunch and had it not been for the waiter this would have been a 5 star experience because the food was amazing. The waiter however...came in late, clearly hungover, and when I informed him of my allergies and asked what on the menu I could eat he replied ”coffee?”, a well intended joke I guess but not one I appreciated.. He then ran back and forth between me and the chef to communicate my allergies.. it seemed as though he was not in control and I feared my allergies would not be communicated properly. Luckily, the chef came out to talk to me personally and then cooked a lovely meal with the best red wine sauce I’ve had. The waiter was charming though and hadnt I had severe food allergies I dont think his behaviour would have bothered me so. The day after we came back for dinner and got a 5/5 treatment. Another waitress took our order and I felt I was in good hands. The food was excellent. Best part? We liked the lamb so much that the chef said ”want another round? It’s on the house” and gave us an entire extra meal for free! We chatted with him and became friends. I will be eager to come back next time I’m in Dublin.More

Visited this restaurant on Saturday night a group of 4 ladies all family . Having entering the restaurant on my own waiting on family I was shown to a table for 4 people which was very very tight in a corner under a staircase I...wouldn't wanted to be large !!! Squeezed beside us there was a small table for 2 which was worst anyway as the night went on 15 fellas arrived opposite us which made the space even worst no passage way at all for customers or staff to get by . Now to the food the reason why I picked this restaurant was the gluten free menu but I had to ask for it I was impressed with it but when the food came out it was just ok !! My sister who ordered from other menu ordered protabello mushrooms and they came out cold with melted cheese on top she complained & they gave her replacement but they where the same !! My niece ordered salmon which was overcooked as our night went on in a overcrowded restaurant coming back from the toilet my sister was mocked by a member of staff cause she was walking to slow 👺👺 my niece complained to a so called manager who had very broken English and he didn't seem to careless this was all very disrespectful he said he would phone her on Monday to no avail no phone call but on Tuesday she received a text message 👺 to apologize. This is a very disrespectful way to treat your customers the likes of us are paying there wages & this is the treatment they show there customers it not on . As a family we will never go into the restaurant ever again . TAKE OUR ADVICE AVOID VISITING THIS RESTAURANT 👺👺👺👺More

STAFF MEMBER IMPERSONATING MY MOTHER'S WALK DIRECTLY BEHIND HER IN PACKED RESTAURANT, WITHOUT APOLOGY OR PROMISED FOLLOW-UP PHONE CALL . WARNING SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!! We were a party of 4 ladies dining out before going on to a show on Saturday evening, my mother's...portabello mushroom was served cold with only warm cheese quickly solidifying on top, she complained and it was replaced with a second in under 5mins, this one not hot either. My mother found it very difficult on both occasions to swallow said cold mushroom as you can imagine, but being a lady did not want to be seen spitting it out. She refused a third and also any offer of substitute. The rest of the meal was OK, nothing special and I am being gracious here as my salmon had crispy edges so definitely overcooked it was also missing the pesto crust. However what happen next was the icing on the cake, myself and my mother were on the way back from the ladies, I was seated before her, a waiter came up behind her and not being able to pass (the space is tight, cramped and busy) he began to imitate her gait and speed, all the time waving his hands behind her in impatience. Both my sister and myself witnessed this and were shocked. We called over the maitre d to complain. We had tried do this quietly and discreetly so as to keep my mother unaware. English is not this gents first language so he did not seem to comprehend, and then wanted to know if the waiter pushed her or touched her. After explaining repeatedly that her was slaging her walk and that it was completely unacceptable my mother was now completely aware of what happened behind her back. We were handed the bill promptly and paid €166 and were almost ushered out into the hall, with the reassurance that the maitre d would let me know what happened. When I asked him how and when he was going to do that he looked baffled, upon explaining that he would need to at least take my name and number to do so. I stood there and demanded he write down my details, he reassured me he would contact me on Monday it is now 23.00 and I have not heard anything. Quite frankly this is shocking behaviour and I would not recommend anyone risk taking their mother here there are plenty of better restaurants to choose from. A distressing start to what was meant to be a lovely night out that we had waited 2 years for.More

Food was 3/5. Service 1/5. Took ages to have drinks order taken. Took even longer for the drinks to arrive. Food is nothing to write home about.

If I could give this place zero I would. I booked a table two weeks ago for my sisters birthday and I rang to confirm two days prior to this. Our booking was for 8:15 and we still weren’t seated at 9pm. My party consisted...of my elderly grandparents who had to stand outside the restaurant in the rain. The manager was the rudest most disrespectful man I’ve ever came across. Not once did he apologise instead he made faces at me & shrugged his shoulders. With his attitude and utter rudeness we decided not to eat there but instead we ate in cafe topolis which is 5 minutes away with much better service and a manager who can actually run a restaurant. I will make sure people know how bad that so called restaurant is - I hope they have no luck in business.More

Have to say shocking service at the millstone. To book a table 2 weeks in advance for a birthday. Table booked for 20:15 and at 21:00 still not seated. Then to try put 3 tables together for 10 at 21:00 it's time to leave .wouldn't...go back there and need a manager who can run a restaurant.More

This was a delicious restaurant. We left so full because everything was amazing. They were fantastic with allergies (we had three severe allergies in our group) including gluten-free. The Yorkshire pudding app was served with gluten-free toast and the gravy for the gluten-free option and...it was delicious (it is also delicious served normally). The venison stew was one of the best things ever eaten and was served with more gluten-free toast. The Irish baked salmon for the nonallergy member of the party was moist, flaky, and flavorful. The staff was so nice and friendly and it was an amazing experience all around. We can't recommend it highly enough.More

I totally agree with many of the reviews below that much of the food being served in Millstone is simply far too salty. I had the stew which smelled and looked delicious but was over salted. My wife and son ordered burgers both were burnt...and over salted. The fries that came out with the burgers and nuggets tasted like they were made in month old oil and you guessed it were over salted. €20 for a burger of this quality is way overpriced. We should have gone around the corner to Bunsen. Won’t be returning.More

Visited this restaurant on 3rd December. We were so disappointed with the food. The prices were very expensive, and then they also added a service charge for two people of just short of 10 euro. It was very crowded and noisy. I would definitely not...recommend this restaurant. Too expensive for what you got. Not a happy couple. Hungry leaving it after only mains and wine. It cost a 100e including a bottle of wine .More
