We had a great dining experience. The hosts were accommodating, server was friendly. We chose to start w/Rabbit & Pistachio Terrine and Smoked Haddock Risotto. Very good! Our main were Hake & Gnocchi. Lemon Curt Tart w/Raspberry Sorbet was very good as well! Top Notch.

Great evening. We had the 3-course "early dinner", which particularly made this an outstanding value for this level of excellent dining. The sea bass was so flavorful for our main. The starter too was great: we each had the risotto with Jerusalem artichokes. Highly recommend these choices. The pint of Guinness of course was also most satisfying. We look forward... More

The Old Spot was abuzz with the conversation of happy and contented diners when we arrived about 8 on a Tuesday evening. The service is professional, attentive and unobtrusive. The food excellent - we had the salted beef, the Old Spot Burger and fabulous pan-fried hake from the specials menu - clean plates all round - the rioja was perfect... More

Mixed feeling I have after the lunch in Old Spot after today's lunch. Food was really quick which not a good sign but was nice. Portion was small and I was still hungry after the fish and chips. I know if you are hungry you should order couple of courses, just to compare to Dublin's other lunch spots to Old... More

Five of us enjoyed the lunch, I shared cote de boeuf €37 was good value, cooked med/rare. The veg could've been more exciting. Burnt spuds, cauliflower drowned in cream cheese, carrots were delicious. Others had fish and chips (ling), ok were the sounds coming from that corner, and other guest had two starters, pork croquette and then cured trout which... More

over a 3 day period of eating lunch and dinner in Dublin the old spot topped the lot, tue night and the place was packed, but instead of just say ' were booked out' we were offered a seat in the bar to have a drink until a table came available or if we wanted to eat in the bar... More

Good range of locally source food - well cooked and very tasty with a good range of menus. Beers and wines available in what is a bit of a gastro pub. Noisy environment and not in the least intimate.

We got married at Sir Patrick Dun's hospital Registry Office on Friday. We walked over to The Old Spot for an early dinner. On arrival, we were directed upstairs to the private room which was beautifully set up. Two of the mirrors had our names and "congratulations" written on them - a lovely touch by Jane who'd had been our... More

A great place for a light meal or for something more substantial. Good range of dishes with relaxed service in a great atmosphere. You just grow accustomed to the trains passing directly overhead!
