Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

2nd time to visit this Gastro Pub but 1st time to eat there. Beautiful setting and got seated at nice table. Service very good and nice to have the same Waiter for the whole visit. Food even though small in portion size was very tasty...even though chicken could have been a bit hotter. We will returnMore

We visited The Old Spot for Sunday Lunch as a group of six and we’re celebrating three milestone birthdays. We arrived early and were welcomed to have a drink in the bar area, very helpful staff helped us chose a wine to our taste and...the Christmas decorations were fantastic - especially loved the pigs on the tree! We were seated upstairs for our meal and the ambience was fantastic as was the prompt service. Food was excellent and our server was kind enough to organise additional Yorkshire pudding and three complimentary birthday deserts (with singing!). We were not rushed in the slightest and enjoyed some post dinner drinks at the table. A big thank you to the fantastic staff for making our first experience at your restaurant so special - we will absolutely be back.More

Great ambience, excellent menu choice, delicious food with exceptional service - this is an outstanding local restaurant/gastro pub. The staff are exceptional and very much anticipate your needs. Good wine selection with expert advice on hand. Legendary cocktails beautifully crafted. The restaurant can get a...little loud, it is an extremely popular venue.More

I came here for my graduation. Few drinks with friends and Darragh served us - top bloke. He was so friendly and took time out of his evening to speak to us even though it was so busy. He got to know us and then...had a quick drink with us!! 10/10 would recommend this pub and especially darragh. Thank you.More

We had a mini break to Dublin to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to wrap up the weekend with lunch before we caught our flight. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff couldn’t have been more attentive or lovely (shout out to Ann Marie...who was a superstar) - we had oysters to start, followed by the roast beef - it was delicious and to die for; it was quite possibly the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had and the perfect way to end an amazing few days in Dublin.More

We had the incredible pleasure of celebrating our next wedding anniversary in a wonderful place The Old Spot yesterday. We tried the specialties of chef Patryk and were incredibly surprised by various delicious dishes. Everything was incredibly delicious with perfectly and exquisitely selected ingredients. Heaven...in mouth! Wonderful atmosphere and very nice service. Thank you very much and we definitely recommend it to everyone.More

Went here tonight, for the fifth time. and they allowed a guest to join out booked table of two. We had the worst table in the house, under a bright late and we sent some chicken back as it was pink. But it felt that...as a pay back they service charged us and then lied and said all tables are service charged on Sundays. We live in the US so tip 20% but i don’t appreciate being lied to, the menu actually says tables of 6 and over are service charged. Blatant lie to there fore charge a table of 3. Wont be back and to be honest although the food was nice, it was not hot and the service was even slower than usual. Not what it used to be and we didn’t like the staff lying to us…kind if unimpressed tonight…More

Fantastic food and service. The mussels were delicious and the burger was the best ever. I would also recommend the gnocchi. All was well prepared and well plated.

We went on for Sunday dinner. We made reservations and the restaurant filled up quickly. We ordered the Sunday Roast Specials and both were outstanding! Full of flavor, honestly one of the best meals of my life! We also got the special dessert, bread and...butter pudding. Michaela was wonderful! We mentioned it was our honeymoon and they gave us a special surprise at the end. I recommend to anyone in Dublin!!!More
