Had an amazing afternoon tea with Prosecco for my sisters birthday. The staff David and Sinead were absolutely amazing and so so so helpful and lovely. They went above and beyond for us and I am planning on coming back for a function soon!

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Old Shop Restaurant located in the Castle Hotel. The afternoon tea was one of the best, if not the best tea and luncheon we have ever had. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious, the scones and muffins...were delicious with butter, jam, and clotted cream. The desserts were superb. Thank you the Old Shop for giving us one of the best afternoons. Two Canadian travellers were so impressed.More
Brilliant, Thank you for our great review, we really are so pleased you enjoyed the afternoon tea experience with us and that it will be one to remember for you both. Thank you. Sinead.
Went in here out of the rain for a cup of tea and a sandwich. Lovely venue but sadly that's where it ends. I ordered a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and a cup of breakfast tea...the 10 euro toasted sandwich was measly and barely...toasted...the tea at 3.50 a pot tasted like cheap tea...the staff were very unattentive, and even cheeky! When I requested a fresh pot of tea..I asked for a fresh cup and the waiter asked "what's wrong with this cup?" Lol! I then watched him make a cup of tea of which he was clueless!! Didn't know how to heat the teapot...said that was their policy for making tea 😆 .....this establishment is offering AFTERNOON TEA!!!.....don't think so! Avoid this place! Train your staff first, Old Music Shop!! Such a pity to see a beautiful old Dublin establishment being so badly run!More
Dear Pommegrannet Thank you for taking the time to share your review. I can see that you a regular contributor to Tripadvisor, it does seem unfortunate that the last 4 venues you have visited have not met your expectations and all received a 1...More

Thank you so much for the kind words, We are so pleased you enjoyed the Afternoon Tea experince with us and no doubt we look forward to seeing you again.
Myself plus three friends were here on Tuesday 11th April for afternoon tea. It took way too long for the tea to arrive (25 mins +) and then the sandwiches and cakes took another half hour, by which time our tea was long gone. We...did ask for and received a refill but the moment was gone by then with the scattered way the food was delivered. Overall the food was lovely and we enjoyed our visit but the service and timing of delivery of food needs much improvement. Would not go back because of this element.More

As a hotel resident the breakfast here was excellent. Lovely staff. Great choice of cereals and other continental breakfast items. The coffee machine was self service but a good latte!

Booked the festive afternoon tea in early December and enjoyed it very much. We arrived at Castle hotel from Parnell street side and didn't see which door to enter, but made our way around the front and through the lobby. Finding an equipped restroom seemed...to be an issue that day but otherwise the service and place were nicely appointed. The tea itself was very reasonably priced, probably because some of the food seemed to have been purchased at Marks and Spencer food area. We enjoyed it nonetheless and the sandwiches seemed freshly made. We weren't asked what type of tea we wanted (which is the norm at pubs and such, but I thought at an afternoon tea service we would be asked). We had plenty to eat and a relaxing afternoon tea.More
Thank you for our nice review, we appreciate it and hopefully we will see you again. None of our item our purchased from Marks and Spencer but i do believe they have got a fantastic range. Thank you.

Restaurant is part of The Castle Hotel, in the vaults/cellar. Nice choice of food, we had set menu 1 night and a la carte another. Best ribs I've eaten for years, very filling too. Live music was good, traditional folk style and also had an...Irish dancer on the Saturday night. Definitely recommend the venue and the hotel.More

Gorgeous afternoon tea! We had a lovely time on a rainy afternoon, eating our way through sandwiches, cakes, scones and petit-fours in a charming, retro venue. They bring you as much tea as you want, or espresso based coffee drinks (no drip/brew coffee, though, which...is always disappointing to a Scandinavian).More

We were treated to an old world dining room for an elegant afternoon tea. We were greeted by friendly staff abd kudos to David our server, very attentive and warm and friendly!! The tea pot was a beautiful blue and a good size for many...cuppa. We dined on yummy sandwiches, scones and sweet desserts. Everything was flavorful and we enjoyed every bite. We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in Dublin!More

Quaint little spot the interior is reminiscent of an older time but it beautiful and delicate. The staff were really friendly and chatty. I bought afternoon tea through Groupon and found this to be a really good purchase. There was plenty to eat full of...flavour and taste. All freshly made. The scones and homemade jam were delicious.More

Booked a table for afternoon tea. Excellent location with excellent food. Equally matched with excellent service. The afternoon tea was beautifully prepared and came with coffee and teas. Both were thoroughly decent. The decor and ambient nature was noticeable. Both very easy and pleasant. A...good location with good food. A day out in Dublin made a little more special. Thanks to the really pleasant staff too.More
