Texas BBQ in Dublin Ireland! No, I'm not joking. After 3 weeks of pub food I was due something different. My Meat Wagon did not dissapoint. My friend and I got the combo for 2. Chicken, beef rib and pulled pork. It came with 2...of the best onion rings I've had in a very long time, lightly battered and fried to perfecrion. The chicken was moist and melted in your mouth. The beef rib fell off the bone and had that open pit smokey flavor. The pulled pork was was good but the stars were the chicken and beef. BBQ beans with huge chunks of smokey ham finished off the platter. The 5 big Irish dudes leaving as we came in werw moaning with delight. It's that good.More
What a joke of a place!!
3 of us went wanting something small to eat before attending an event. Decided on two meat plates and 4 sides between the three of us as we didn't want too much. Unfortunately your not allowed share food here,...you must order a full meal per person, apparently the chefs refuse to cook food that is being shared.
It was early, 6pm, and the restaurant was almost empty, apart from staff sat around on their phones or eating.
Anyway we left along with around a €100 we would have spent on food and drinks. Maybe the staff were happy enough with no one to attend to??More
Food was delicious and the service was great too. There was 6 of us eating and we couldn’t get through the food. We had to ask for it to be packed up. Order small when you go. Even for those of us with a large...appetite it was overwhelming but so delicious.More
Used to go to the restaurant and was well served, but unfortunately today I had a really bad experience, I called earlier to ask if a reservation was required and they said no, they have a walk in service, so me, my husband and some...friends went to the place and was a bit busy so they asked us to wait 15/20 min for a free table, but some people were coming and they were getting some tables ready for them and they literally had the same amount of people as us, so after a while we asked if we could seat on a table outside the restaurant I think was just decoration, until we waited for one to be available, so then after a few minutes some people left the table and the girl said she was going to get that ready for us, and literally 5 min after the manager said that table was reserved. But as I mentioned they don’t reserve tables. So I expected a better communication and we just felt like we were being a problem for them!!!! Hopefully they get the chance to work better on busy days, cause there was no organization whatsoever!More
The meat was really good, really tasty, I would go back.
The atmosphere was a bit dead inside, maybe that's because it was a Bank holiday Sunday.
One note: beware of the beer prices. All beers cost the same, my girlfriend got a pint and...I ordered an IPA. It came in a 330ml can and I was shocked to pay so much for a small can. So get your value, ask want size your drink is!More
Stayed in the hotel round the corner and found MMW by chance, and just how lucky was i?
This place is beautiful BBQ food, i went for the Ribs and was blown away with the Smokey taste and quality.
My partner order the chicken box...and was impressed with the quality too (and she can be quite picky).
The staff are really friendly and love chatting to you about the menu, shows to me the passion they have for the place.
The homemade BBQ is something special too.
If your in the area don't miss out on this little gem...More
