Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic weekly takeaway from Okayu. Super fresh, flavour & variety. Get delivered all the way to Sutton with impeccable timing. A while back I had missed clicked the time for 5pm instead of 7pm. Before realising my mistake the manager had said she would take back and redeliver for 7pm. That is real service. Kept the 5pm delivery and was just as great at 7pm.

We just loved the food - we came to the area for 3 nights and ate here night 1 and 2 and can't resist night 3! We have tried sushi, gyoza and the katsu curry udon with chicken - sublime.

Okayu offers sushi and other dishes that are always made to such a high standard and is easily one of the best takeaway Japanese places in Dublin. We love it.

Been eating here for years and one think I liked about this place was the kind of attention to detail I got used to living in Japan. My last 2 meals from here were substandard especially considering the cost. I'll think twice before ordering again

Sushi was fresh and tasty. Loads of options to suit the whole family. Kids love the Cha Han and Yaki Udon. Aside from the sushi My favourite is the gyoza. It’s our Friday night family treat.

This place is absolutely amazing! The sushi is always super fresh and tasty. The staff there is really nice and lovely to deal with. We always order the dragon roll and ebi tempura which is a deep fried prawn dish. It's absolutely delicious and more importantly the high standards is consistent each time we order. Highly recommend this place I wish they would open a larger place where you can sit in and enjoy the great dishes.

I'm a big sushi fan, and a big fan of japanese food in general. I can say with confidence that this place makes world class sushi. The fish quality is amazing, the presentation is beautiful, the taste is perfect, and the portions are generous. Add to this the great value for money. I've been living in Dublin for a long time, and only discovered this place 2 weeks ago, and I already ordered from them 4 times. I haven't visited the spot, but I order take aways. it's worth mentioning the speed at which the food is prepared, with no compromise on quality. Try it. My favorite so far are the spicy makis (tuna and salmon). but I'm yet to go over the rest of the menu.

Normally my elderly dining partner and I would go out for Japanese food on a Sunday evening, but as he’s not mobile right now we thought we’d order in. I’ve eaten from Okayu before, we’ve ordered in the past and found it fine, but had a very disappointing experience today. The edamame and avocado and California Roll sushi rolls were fine but the rest was really bad. - Tofu Steak Teriyaki not as the menu described, but instead little chunks of precooked tofu and cheap overdone stir fried vegetables, mostly cabbage, floating in bland brown liquid (pictures) - We order fried noodles, but got boiled rice. - Seafood Yaki Soba had very little seafood in it, and not as described on the menu. - Yasai Gyoza were deep fried not grilled as stated on the menu. - There were no chopsticks or napkins. I phoned up to talk to the restaurant about the meal and the woman on the phone wasn’t interested and offered no apologies. Won’t be ordering again, obviously - it’s a shame as it used to be a decent Japanese delivery place, and there aren’t many options for Japanese in Dublin North suburbs.

As always, friendly service meets you at the door of Okayu. They don't all shout 'irraschaimasse!' - they don't need to: small is beautiful and the food speaks for itself here. Don't get me wrong, shrink-flation has had its wicked way here - the salmon and the tuna in teriyaki quantities have been decimated - but quality always holds sway over quantity ant that excelled consistently over the years in Okayu. The crispness of the seafood tempura matched these in freshness of flavour.

We like ordering from Okayu as the food is gorgeous (we especially like the salmon/avocado roll and the stir fried vegetables) but recently ordering for delivery has taken a lot longer than usual (1.20 hr last time). We received a text the next day which included a generic apology but also "Good news though, yesterday was the busiest Thursday ever for us" which seemed like an odd attempt to get customers to care that their delivery being so delayed was because the business is doing so well.

I Ordered the; No. 10- Masago Nigiri for the Fish Caviar and found they had given me Salmon when I got home, so as we always should check before you leave as its only take away. No. 19 Salmon and cream cheese, I thought to cream cheese was a bit over powering but friend enjoyed. (I had salmon with something creamy thought it might be this, probably mayo) No. 28 Dragon roll, again for the Fish Caviar, the roll was delicious but feck all Caviar, maybe the problem with online (maybe they where running out, but I should have been told if that's the case :( ) No, 30 Spider roll, umm Soft shell crab, which I love but the roll was just lacking flavour. NO. 72, Ika Tempura, Delicious, Fully recommend this, 5 big pieces, a little awkward with chopsticks but I will never complain about a good size portion and cooked well, maybe open the box on the way home so stays nice and crispy. Also had one of the Dumplings. I can't even remember which, lacking in flavour and a little dry, won't try again. But as I look throught the menu again my mouth is watering and wanting to try a lot more. If you try and like let me know what to try next.

I had the Salmon Bento Box - food plentiful and Delicious. Delivery took a little longer than expected but the food was lovely when it arrived so I would definitely recommend. Maybe a phone call if food will not be at advised time would be good.

It is great to have such a decent Japanese takeaway cum restaurant in the up-and-coming Fairview/ North Strand area. Okayu is now a permanent fixture here and though we eat her probably on a monthly basis we have yet to be disappointed: unlike many of their Chinese counterparts that I have encountered, customer service is not a foreign country here; in the somewhat cramped sit-down eat area, different decorative items are for sale; the food is very good, we had a chicken karaage bento box, the seafood chahan and salmon teriyaki. The bento box has generous quantities of sushi and gyozi as well as a croquette and a small salad. A bountiful portion of salmon in the teriyaki also featured while the chahan did not skimp on decently-sized prawns and such veg as baby corn. Due to my continuing impecunious state from recent foreign jaunts I didn't get to continue my love-affair with the eel here, perhaps a pleasure postponed. We will definitely be back!
