My wife and I found Porterhouse during our recent trip to Dublin. I'm a big fan of craft beers and my construction company has built a handful in the states. To say the least, I'd call myself a beer expert. We sampled many at Porterhouse...More

Hi Jim! Thanks for leaving such a fantastic review. Your comments about the beers are really appreciated. The Export Stout is also a favourite of our staff here. Hopefull you’ll be back next time you are in Dublin and we will have a few more...More

There was so much going on when we entered this bar. The ambiance is great, and so are the craft bears. But we didn't quite learn the craft of finding a good seat. Worth a stop.

Excellent live music and food. The ribs and chicken wings were just the thing after a long day of touring the countryside. The house beers washed it all down nicely. The sample board of beers were a welcome, inexpensive way to experience a variety of...More

I went to this place with my cousin for a drink. Was refused service by the barman because he said I was a danger to myself and others because I was on one crutch. I am only on this crutch for a few weeks due...More

Hi Philip. The sole reason for your refusal would never be the fact that you were simply on a crutch. If the bartender felt you had too much alcohol due to observing your behaviour, and felt you were a danger to yourself, he might refuse...More

Not my first time visiting this establishment..but have to say a visit to Dublin without a call to the Porterhouse is a missed opportunity. The staff as always are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable of all the many beers on sale. Well worth a visit.

I used to live in Dublin and I spent countless nights in the Porterhouse with friends. I absolutely love this pub with all its beers (including self brewed ones), good atmosphere and often very enjoyable music. If you're in Dublin, definitely worth a visit!!

Headed to The Porterhouse for lunch one day as one of our party was wanting "Irish Stew". Nice pub, if somewhat formulaic. Very good selection of beers. Stew was fine.

We stopped here for a nightcap after drinks & a light dinner at VCC on the recommendation of a friend living in Dublin. My wife and I had an Irish coffee, which was actually one of the best we've ever had. We came back with...More

Stopped here for a mid afternoon meal, and it was pretty good. The service was only ok, but the menu had some interesting options that were different than the standard. The beer selection is large as well. Overall this is a decent place to stop.

I agree with Ann - the place is very big on several floors. But it's also quite crowded. So I would suggest you booking in advance.
