Peploe's is a chic, sophisticated restaurant, and probably the most popular in Dublin. Refurbished in August 2017 to a beautiful finish, reminiscent of an 'old world' Parisian Brasserie, blended of a modern New York Bistro. A visit to Dublin is not complete without a visit to Peploe's St Stephens Green.

Myself and family (7 adults and 2 children ) went for Xmas dinner last Saturday at 6 pm sitting … bill was euro 1167….the Xmas dinner 3 course plus coffee was 85 price .. but I was charged extra 12.5% service charge which was extra...10.62 per person which left the 3 course dinner plus coffee at..95.63 each ..by 9 people .. total 870 euro … so the extras were 297… the extras were .. 10 bottles of water at 38 euro plus’s service charge at 12.5% .. that was about 4.50 per bottle of water… plus 4 bottles of wine 156 plus 12.5%…plus drinks for kids etc …. When we arrived we were not asked if we wanted water and waiters kept putting bottled waters on table without us ordering water …I don’t believe we drank 10 bottles of water ... Anyway .. peploes are ultra greedy disgusting people who have turned corner on excess greed .. disgusting …horrible excess prices .. I was peploe customer for so many years and ordered take away from them during covid .. to support them .. think peploes shows that utter greed has turned them to point where they are on the slippery slide which I think will ruin them in short time even though they think they are getting away with this disgusting excess charges.. what a disgusting company that they have now become based on utter excessive greed …0872567825More

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel and was quite booked during the weekend. We were a party of 9 people and got a good table for the group. The food was good and we selected different dishes from the Christmas menu. We drank both...white and red wine around the table, but the waiter was not cognisant of guests wanting to switch wine between courses, and generally seemed more and more careless during the meals e.g. when pouring wine.More

Lovely lunch, friendly and efficient service, and really great food. Only slight issue I would have was that a lot of the set lunch menu had supplementary costs included. I suppose most customers are corporate. Otherwise all really goodMore

Went to Peploe’s off the back of a friend’s recommendation - it did not disappoint. Delicious food, great service by Joshua and excellent wine. We ate the mushroom tempura and bluefin tuna carpaccio - both terrific. Same with the halibut and cod. It is an...expensive restaurant but quality does come at a price. The restaurant was packed but there was a great atmosphere. Will definitely return.More

I am confused about the previous reviews... I don't have any bad comment about the staff but... We were 3 people, 2 of us had the mushrooms tempura.. which were floating in a broth (?) I didn't see the point of this dish. The crisp...of the tempura was lost and the broth wasn't even so tasty... 3rd person had the soup of the day: potato and parma ham. The ham was sooo salty that she ate only the potato soup. (More than €40 for the 3 starters, no enjoyment whatsoever) I had the parmigiana aubergine, this dish is a mystery: there were under cooked courgettes and peppers in it? The tomato sauce was a bit bitter, the kind of not seasoned enough sauce that hasn't cooked long enough.. tasted like a simple tomato coulis, quickly warmed up. (€24,50!...) The 2 other persons had the fish of the day (around €55 for the 2) the fish was very well cooked. You would think for 55 euros (the 2) the side dish was included... but no you will be charged 10 euros more for a few roasted potatoes and a few green beans (not even joking) If you order bread, count a 4 euros extra too. As we are french we ordered it twice as the quantity was so small. 2 or 3 smallest pieces of baguette ever, 2 small pieces of guiness bread. A bottle of wine for around 50 euros and a final bill just under 200 euros. The food I ordered wasn't great at all and for the price this is just terrible. At least, with the fish, the 2 other persons enjoyed more the main than me. Staff was very courteous. We found the decor too loud (mix of heavy colors, patterns, pompeous, confusing, not very classy), the tables are too close to one another in a noisy atmosphere, especially having a table in the middle of the dining room. For this level of price, I think we can expect a better environment... Personally the worst ratio in terms of quality for money I had in Ireland for the last 7 years. Be informed..More

Our hotel was pretty close to the restaurant. We showed up a few minutes early and we were promptly seated. We ordered a tuna carpaccio. Oddly the blue tuna had been soaked in soy. We weren’t sure whether that was to camouflage the fact that...the tuna was not fresh or whether chef thought that would make it more tasty. in any case, it was somewhat strange. Despite my concerns, I did order a duck confit after I was assured that it was going to be very crisp. It wasn’t. The duck was moist and it was tasty. A scalloped potato on the side was quite crisp and I really liked that. my wife had chicken Milanese, which was essentially a chicken breast that was fried with a coating on it. she liked it but only ate about 40% of the dish. wines by the glass were reasonable, and we tried several of them. 3.5 stars.More

Been a while, dined here last Saturday for a special occasion. The place is in top condition, looking great and buzzing. Staff were professional, helpful and very friendly. Sommelier particularly. They had the Champagne on ice ready as requested - had exactly the desired effect....Food delicious and beautifully but not fussily presented. This remains a complete banker for stylish dining in Dublin. Well visualised and managed, it is a complete credit to the owner and no surprise it has lasted so well on top form.More

First off, the food was all very good and reasonably priced given what was served. The menu offers a nice array of dishes that should please a groups with differing tastes / adventurousness. The decor and location also make an elegant setting for the special...occasion dinner we were hoping to have. Where things really fell off for us was the service. Our waiter was terribly cold and made us feel invisible / unworthy of his attention. He was so short he often left before we could finish our sentence or ask a question. At first we thought this might have just been his personality or a result of a busy night only to then observe the different treatment offered to his other tables. It came to a point were we could no longer enjoy our time there and signaled for the first available staff person to bring us our check. We debated on wether or not we should say anything about it and eventually did to our hostess on the way out. I used my words carefully and posited that we wondered whether the difference in treatment was the result of classism or racism. Yes, it made for an uncomfortable “sorry about that,” but uncomfortable is an apt description for our experience.More

The restaurant comes highly rated for business events. I’ve been twice and both times the food is okay, but the issue is how cramped the tables are. Our waiter bumped over the next table’s water when he was serving due to it being so close...together. The waiters also come across as annoyed or impatient when taking orders and they bump into you repeatedly when pouring water and wine (again due to the lack of space).More
