Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came as a large group without a reservation and the management was wonderfully accommodating. The food looked enticing on the menu, but proved to be even more satisfying on the plate. The variety of entrées that we ordered all gendered amazing feedback. Our bartender,...Suarez, was FABULOUS!! The quality of the cocktail mixes and ingredients were surprisingly unique and top notch. Atmosphere was relaxing and elevated by decor, music and attention to detail. Loved our time here- will most definitely return!!More

Excellent, welcoming bistro right in the middle of Dublin. Came for dinner and the ambiance, food, and playlist were all fabulous!

Food was excellent and the staff was very engaged and enjoyable. Charles, Christoph, and Soares were exceptional. Soares is the best mixologist I have ordered from in years. He is a true artist.

We were having a quiet drink in the Old Stand Pub on a bust Thursday evening, whilst the app showed nothing until 19.45, I enquired of the concierge who got us a table immediately. We were seated at a table for two, the place was...busy but not over packed. Our table was attended to by a girl from Chile, friendly professional and efficient. The menu is a good mix which caters to most. We went for prawns and makeral for our starters with mains of lamb and hake. Our starters arrived beautifully presented, prawns in a hot spicy liqueur with crusty bread and the makeral in folds just right on both counts. Our mains didn't disappoint once again excellently prepared and presented. We skipped desert and had a cheese board to finish. Coffee and drinks at the bar before leaving, spoke to the Manager & the Chef about our meal and experience, just a fabulous early evening meal. We will be back!! Thanks to all the team!!More

Stay away unless you want sour faced staff and bad food and I mean bad! Everything tasted like it had been wrapped in cellophane and came out of fridge. The muscles tasted dodgy and were left.

We happened to find this amazing spot on our first night in Ireland. The exceptional staff made us feel welcomed and were very accommodating despite the fact that we did not have reservations. We traveled all over Ireland and the food at the Green Hen...was one of the top meals we had our entire stay. So much so that we decided to go back when we returned to Dublin for our flight home. The staff, food and atmosphere were perfect bookends to an amazing trip!More

Outstanding and friendly restaurant. The manager was extremely nice . He joked with us and at the end of the evening gave us one of the plates to take home . Not only great food but great people working . Cannot say enough good things

Summary would be good food in lovely French themed bistro. I would agree however that it was a wee bit pricy for what it provided. My main grip was the service charge at 12.5%. I always tip and would have tipped here to, I just...don't like it being the default. Because of that would I go back, iffy to be honest. €150 for two starters, house wine no desert including service charge.More

Our experience started off rather badly as we were told only half of the wine menu was available. When starters arrived, the portions were very small and probably not worth the price. Two hoisin duck spring rolls with some cucumber - €13, although it was...nice. The pricing of the mains was better, €28 for Bream with potatoes, mussels and a saffron sauce. The dish was decent - the fish was perfectly cooked but the skin was soggy and the saffron sauce was a little overpowering. However the mussels were lovely and so were the potatoes. Overall, it was an average experience, there are definetly better places for a medium- high end dinner experience.More

Extremely rude staff! Possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Myself and boyfriend were sitting outside enjoying a drink and as soon as we finished our second drink we were prompted to order again. I said I would in a few minutes and before...I could even think they had offered our table to 3 women (one of which the waiter very creepily called sexy) and brought out the card machine to us which we never asked for. When I said we weren’t finished we just wanted to wait 5 minutes before ordering more drinks. We were told that tables were like ‘gold dust’ and if we did not order we had to leave. We never asked for the bill and intended to order more drinks. We asked for the manager and conveniently they were not there. The door man is extremely rude and try’s to be intimidating which is bizarre and extremely hostile.More

Wonderful service, ambience, food and wine. I excellent find at the last minute. Would recommend highly. We had the hake. Bread and olive oil odd menu followed by a cheese board. Staff are very accommodating and knowledgeable.

From memory there were options. I found them very accommodating as I don't eat certain foods & they substituted for me. Check out there online menu or mail them.

They do have an email address but Trip Advisor reply process does not allow me to include HTML or website links. Search for Green Hen online, click Facebook link and then additional info. That should get you the email... More
