Maybe worth a try at Doheny & Nesbitt if you want a true Irish pub experience (Baggot St) or assuming your son eats meat (I'm taking dairy to mean cheese, milk & eggs) I can truly recommend FX Buckley steak restaurants...they're located at Christchurch area 'Bull & Castle' which is in fact a restaurant in a large pub (bars upstairs & down)' Crowe St in Temple Bar area & my favourite in Pembroke St which is just off Baggot St.
From Grafton St you're near St Stephens Green & Doheny's is a good 10~15 min walk. (As always lots of people & roadworks going on!) with Pembroke St a further 7~10 mis away...but well worth the walk.
Alternatively there's Matt the Thresher in Pembroke St opp FX's...Note these are the only 2 main retaurants in Pembroke St. Checkout my reviews as I've been to a few restaurants over the past year so you can always call them to check....Good Luck & enjoy Dublin, it's a great City & the people are fab!
