Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I, together with my mother and our son, ate here on a recent Sunday lunchtime. We had asked for a quiet table towards the back of the room and were seated accordingly. The Menu offered a wide range of options for every...palate and we were delighted with everything we chose. Three of us opted for Roast Rib of 28 Day Aged Irish Hereford Beef while my mother chose Grilled Fillet of Hake. We also had starters and dessert. A lively family atmosphere prevailed with top class service throughout. Full marks!More

Thoroughly excellent meal from start to finish. Wonderful fish cakes to start and then a beautiful hake with great breads and good wine. Dessert matched the quality of the rest of the meal. The service was perfect and the atmosphere as well. This restaurant has...a great reputation, and fully deserves every accolade it can get. Don’t miss this one!More

This was a very poor experience given the long-standing reputation of this restaurant. Arrived at about 12.10 pm looking for a early lunch in the cafe/terrace and as a consequence the place was fairly empty. The three of us (and two others behind us) stood...like idiots for about five minutes in front of the Please Wait to be Seated sign before my daughter lost patience and went over to the MD who had been happily typing at a screen for this period without once looking up . Menus provided, we waited a further 15 minutes or so before I lost patience this time and went and got a waiter. We ordered three 12-13 euro sandwiches and a portion of fries. To be fair these arrived promptly . That's where the positive ended . The sandwiches' uninspired presentation involved a miserable amount of frisee salad and a few broken crisps. The bread, which advertised itself as sourdough, was supermarket bland and quite stale. The fries were tasteless and appeared to have been made from frozen. A trip downstairs to the bathroom meant I passed an open door revealing a pretty grimy looking prep kitchen . I know kitchens are not clinics but please don't make me look at the underbelly. Three hurried coffees later and 60 euro down (including a reluctant tip) we left, feeling a bit annoyed and confused. All the things wrong with this Trade on Old Glory arise from carelessness, slapdash and short cut and could be remedied with the merest of effort . No sense of this necessary minimum was apparent from our visit.More

Went to this cute little restaurant before a football game at the Aviva stadium.... which was very close. I booked online and was told I got the last time and table??! When we arrived 6 hours before the game, the place was empty but again...was told I couldn't change our table to a nicer one downstairs??? The waiter, waitresses and other waiting staff wanted to take our order the minute we sat down and kept coming back to hurry us out the door. It was almost comical how we were treated If the food wasn't so good I would have given this place a very poor reviewMore

This visit was kind of a mixed bag. The establishment is very elegant. My wife and I enjoyed our drinks and the food we ordered. The prices were a bit high but not exorbitant. The service wasn't that great. I'm not sure if the server...was slammed but they seemed to be more interested in engaging other tables than ours. It took multiple attempts to get her attention for anything.More

Having been a reasonably regular visitor since the very beginning I am sorry to say that Roly’s has really gone downhill in terms of food quality. Back in Rolys for a family celebration, and these visits are always the icing on the cake! From the moment you step in the door, you feel valued and welcomed, by every member of staff. We wre quickly ushered to our table, and offered the...usual selection of pre meal breads. Ellen was the manager on duty, and did a superb job of marshelling her staff. There were a lot of new faces, but what they lacked in experience, they more than compensated for with their friendly and enthusiastic service. As usual, the food was all superb, with a great selection of inexpensive house wines, available either by the bottle or the glass. Another memorable night, and thanks again to all the Roly's staffMore

Really enjoyed our trip to Roly’s last night with family. From the time we arrived and greeted by Neil at the front door. There was a fantastic buzz in the Resturant. We had a lovely booth, which was so nice and private. The service was...10/10 and the manager Ellen was so attentive. Such a great service. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals and could not fault any of the dishes, all the steaks cooked perfectly! The food was too notch. Could not rate highly enough. We finished off with gorgeous cocktails! Super night. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Roly’s! Definitely our favourite Resturant in Dublin.More
