I've always been a fan of middle eastern cuisine so when I saw a Lebanese restaurant near my hotel, visiting it was a must. Thankfully, The Cedar Tree was a wonderful restaurant which exceeded expectations. I took advantage of their early bird menu which is 2 courses for €23.90 which is average for Dublin prices. A good selection of hot and cold Mezzes await you in terms of starters while there are a nice choice of mains also. I opted for hummus as a starter. The hummus was delicious. Creamy and fine with a lovely balance of lemon, tahini and subtle in its flavour. The texture was exceptional and it was nicely finished with good quality olive oil, and a dusting of sumac. The hummus came with a generous basket of Lebanese flatbread. Simply delicious. My main was a mixed chicken and lamb kofta which came with grilled tomato and onion. Dressed flatbread and a yoghurt and spiced dip. The kofta was delicate and gently spiced as you expect with Lebanese food and were very tasty. The dips added to the flavour without overpowering the lamb and chicken and the grilled vegetables were tasty when mixed with the Lebanese style rice. Nothing fancy in terms of flavours but the execution was very well done. A very tasty option. The restaurant is homely and discreet. Soft lighting and mosaic tables. Service is attentive and friendly without being overbearing and you were left to enjoy your meal in peace without being rushed out the door. A nice alternative to so many restaurants these days which nearly have you ordering dessert before you get to your table. I'll be back next time I'm in Dublin. Highly recommended.

Myself and my friend went for dinner just before Christmas and opted for a Mezze. I think it was the Lebanese one. There is a large selection of mezze to choose from. We were presented with about 8 little dishes of food and dips, all beautifully made and tasty. We chatted over a carafe of red wine feeling quite full when the waiter came and asked if he should bring the main course. We had to be rolled out of the restaurant. It was lovely. the staff were lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely too. The prices were very reasonable too, so well worth a visit and I will be going back again.

We visited the Cedar Tree to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a great evening. The menu had so many delicious options to choose from it was tough not ordering too much food. The super friendly waiting staff answered any questions we had about the dishes which helped us choose the perfect plate. The food was amazing and every mouthful was just stunning. As a vegan, I’m often disappointed by lack of flavour but these dishes had an amazing depth of flavour. We ordered the house Lebanese wine which was really nice too and we were pleasantly surprised at the bill. Quality exciting food that doesn’t disappoint. Can’t wait till we’re back in Dublin again to visit.

Still trying to remember whether 25 or 26 years since we first visited, but we keep returning. The only change being you now eat upstairs in a much larger restaurant rather than downstairs, which was much smaller, though still a great atmosphere and some excellent meze to chose from, plus as always some excellent Lebanese wine to chose from. We'll try not to leave it as long between visits next time.

I went there on recommendation, but was unfortunately quite disappointed. The portions are far too small for the price. The waiter who brought the food to our table had a pretty lousy work ethic and was also very rude. The waitress was ok, but then also made fun of her colleague, which didn't seem very professional. She also said I'm sure he had forgotten half of it. Well, instead of saying that, I would just check what was on the table and see if he really had forgotten anything. With a plate of 78 euros, you can expect everything to be on the table. My meal was practically swimming in sauce and my lamb was a massive bone with a little meat on it for 27 euros. The toilets were also pretty disgusting, for the fact that it's actually a nicely decorated restaurant. And the last thing is probably a matter of taste, but playing some Blues Brothers in a beautifully decorated Lebanese restaurant doesn't quite fit the ambience. As I said, it's more a matter of taste. All in all, not exactly the best experience, I won't be going there again. But I didn't want to deny myself the comment.

Nice restaurant with lovely staff. Good atmosphere and location in the city centre. Went with friends for dinner and we had the shared selection @ €40 per head. Mostly tasty food, mix of breads, various meats and vegetables. Some of it had a “prepared earlier” feel and taste to it rather than freshly cooked. Not bad but it felt expensive for what we got. Would go back but would order individual dishes rather than the mixed selection tapas type meal.

The whole experience was just bad. I had the falafel to start and the chicken kafka for the mains. The table flat bread was stale and cold. Clearly just taken out of a packet and cut in half. The falafel had that sharp taste of very food that has been frozen too long. The Kafka was re heated chunks of chicken with tomato sauce with under cooked rice. Really just so below the 30 euro on the early bird menu. The comments the waitress made were just over the top, to the extent that everyone noticed at the table. It wasn't worth mentioning the food to her as she was way over familiar and almost passive aggressive. Just a strange experience altogether. Won't be back and couldn't recommend it.

I visited with my fiancé and we shared a mixed mezze between us. Lovely food and a good mix of dishes. Good price for what we had to say we were in central Dublin. I think we paid 54€ for the mezze to share and it was the perfect amount of food for the two of us. Great service and helpful staff

This restaurant is one of the best in Dublin. It was great to go back for a feed! We had the €15.90 lunch deal which is an absolute bargain. The food is simply delicious -couldn’t recommend it more. And the staff are so nice. Place was spotless & they are obviously taking the restrictions with C19 extremely seriously. The tastiest food in Dublin! Best Middle Eastern restaurant.

Ate Veggie mezze and a couple of starters here and all it was very bland. Tasted like some of the food was just reheated as very dry. The lamb lacked any flavour and the Tabbouleh was literally 90% parsley, a lot of which was dry. The only reasonable dish was the Baba Ganoushe. I have seen all the great reviews and perhaps we went there when the main chefs were off - it was lunch early in new year. There are a number of other Lebanese restaurants in Dublin with much better food. Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.

Amazing place and food. The staff was really friendly and as soon as the waiter realized we speak Portuguese he tried to speak it to make us more comfortable even not being his first language. The price is fair. It's not the cheapest but it's worth 100%. We were in 3 couples and all of us ordered the "combo" for 2. The food as amazing and it was a lot of food, the price was fair comparing the amount of food. We tried the yogurt drink and loved it, it's pretty different and worth the try.

Went there on a recommendation and was very disappointed. The food came cold (every tried eating lamb shank cold) the pitta bread was stale. It was also overpriced even at it's best. Overall not a good evening....will not return like so many other reviewers.

My wife & I were lured in off the street by the 2018(?) window dressing award as best restaurant in Dublin with thoughts of succulent middle eastern delights. Oh how we were both let down. We only had a main each. Minced lamb was dry, skewered lamb = mutton tough. Both dishes devoid of flavour & spices as expected. I described our meals to two members of staff, one of whom merely stated matter of factly I was wrong. Service was okay up to that point, food arrived quickly ( too quickly?). Had the chef changed since 2018? Not according to them. We paid and left somewhat deflated after a great day out in Dublin.

Wow! My group stepped into this restaurant on an impulse as we strolled our neighborhood looking for dinner options, and it did not disappoint. I think we had four different entrees among us, and everyone was quite happy. I would gladly return here to try others. The staff was also professional and welcoming.

I am from Lebanon. I cook Lebanese food. I rarely don't go out to have Lebanese food since I cook it at home, so I opt for other cuisines. The only reason we went there is because my son has just moved to go to University in Dublin, and he loves Kafta. so we went there based on the 4 star and other mentions. I have to say, I have never had worse meal than this place. The food was the worst I've ever had. It was bland, poorly cooked, some items didn't even resemble what they should look like. I've had better middle eastern food at small falafel cafes. It's an embarrassment for the owner to call that Lebanese food. I can't say there was anything any of us ordered that had flavor. Terrible disappointment. We were leaving back to the US and wanted my son to have a nice meal that hopefully would be a place for him to get food like home. Waste of time, money and I still can't believe they get those kinds of reviews. that is not even good food, never mind Authentic Lebanese food.
